Perth City Center East Perth|0.85km from Claisebrook Railway Station
Arrival went almost smoothly, rooms weren’t ready and were still being cleaned on arrival, no biggie we were informed they were under staffed that day which was understandable and we didn’t mind at all waiting but then the problems didn’t stop….lifts broke down minutes after checking in, not managements fault but the lack of building knowledge or how to get to our rooms via stairs was disappointing, only when my partner explained about the fire escape doors being exit only for the 5th time was a key finally sourced to give access to our floors and rooms (with all our valuables and keys in it!), following this we found our friends key card had stopped giving access to our shared apartment room which was quickly sorted…..or so we thought….hallways and rooms had a slight mouldy smell, lamps missing light bulbs, 2 of the 3 aircons just not turning on at all (even after following manuals provided in the back of the guest book and trying multiple different remotes!) all of which we deemed too difficult to even bother bringing up with management due to our previous interaction. After returning from the city late at night we found out or key card had now stopped working and we had no access to our apartment! After calling the after hours mobile only to find its now disconnected we called the land line provided to find the so called ‘night carer’ which turned out to be someone from a neighbouring building with also no knowledge of the apartments! After attempting to give us access to the master key from the lockbox at the front of the building (wrong code no access again surprise, surprise) frustrated and tired we gave in and ended up asking our friends to cut their night short to come back and try their card to let us in. When addressed with reception the following morning about the previous nights debacle we were treated to a blank stare and unapologetic response after fixing the card for us my partner asked the receptionist if this would possibly now cause our friends card to stop working again to which we were told it would and she’d need both cards to be brought down at the same time to be able to give them simultaneous access….*** so they knew only 1 card would have access from the beginning….Huge, Huge lack of management and training. How about instead of being defensive and finding excuses to every review you actually do something and spend a day (or week) training your staff!

Quest East Perth

Perth City Center East Perth|1.08km from Claisebrook Railway Station
We got off to a bad start, NOT the Quest's fault, we booked the wrong room. But that was no problem for the staff of this hotel. Considering the hotel was fully booked, they managed to find us a room that we requested. The hotel staff even moved our luggage, 2 large suitcases, and 2 smaller carry-on cases to the new room while we were out enjoying ourselves in Perth, how good is that. The room we had was a 1 bedroom Executive Apartment, with balcony, on Level 12 which afforded us some nice views down to the Swan River. It was immaculately clean throughout, housekeeping came in each Saturday and left it in pristine condition. The living room was large and airy, big sofa, nice tv. Kitchen facilities were excellent, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster. Large dining table for 4 people. The bedroom had a lovely King size bby the wayed, very comfortable. Decent wardrobe space. A safe for your valuables. The bathroom was excellent too, good shower, lots of provided toiletries. The balcony had a small table and two chairs, and was the full with of the living room. On the 18th floor was a bar and restaurant, we only used it once as either we ate out during the day, or cooked in our own room. The meal we had in the restaurant was excellent by the way. The staff in this hotel, in my opinion are exceptional. nothing was ever a problem for them, always very welcoming and always a smile, they all seemed very happy doing their job which was nice to see, and would often find time to chat to you if you wished. The hotel is a little way out from the CBD, but its less than a mile and was a good exercise walk each morning. That and the fact it was fully booked, speaks volumes and I can understand if people return to this hotel, it is so good. This could well have been our last visit to Perth from the UK, as we have been 3 times now to Perth, but I can honestly say it was our best hotel experience, and will leave an everlasting feelgood experience with my wife and me. Thank you, Quest East Perth. Hope you continue to provide your excellent service for you future customers. A 5* recommendation from my wife and me.

Mont Clare Boutique Apartments

I am not one for complaining and have always been a very understanding customer, however, our most recent experience is something I feel needs to be rectified or at least expressed for improvement purposes. After attempting to contact Mont Clare Boutique Apartments in regards to a possible cancellation, we were told that due to booking through a third-party, we would need to directly contact them and seek cancellation refunding (a US number). After doing so, the third-party business was extremely understanding of our unforeseen personal medical situation BUT informed us it was actually Mont Clare Boutique Apartments that had the overarching decision and they would email a cancellation request on our behalf. I then followed up and rang Mont Clare again and explained the situation, to which I was told “Ok not a problem.” But upon receiving the email request, Mont Clare staff proceeded to decline our cancellation. With not being able to afford to lose out on a large chunk of money, we proceeded with our stay. Travelling 3.5 hours from the country, we made sure to arrive within the stated Reception hours of “Monday - Thursday 9.00am - 7:00pm, Friday 9.00am - 6am (Sat Morning), Saturday 9:00am to 6am Sunday Morning and Sunday and Public Holidays 9.00 am - 2.30pm” as stated on BOTH their website AND their front door. However, reception was closed and we were unable to contact the emergency number. Luckily for a helpful patron that instructed us on how to check-in, we managed to get ourselves and 18-month-old inside. When we got to our room, the air conditioner was on but doing nothing, so we proceeded to turn it to the lowest temperature and highest setting where it remained for the duration of our stay, doing nothing. We had to purchase a fan in order for our daughter to be able to sleep. Our instruction paperwork also stated that the pool was out of order and we would need to use the one across the road at the Aldernay and upon using the Gym, every piece of equipment was broken except for the treadmill (two things I booked this accommodation for and that I believe should have been refunded or rectified more professionally). The next day we discovered the television remote volume buttons weren’t working, so I rang Reception, at which point I was told “Well if the channels work its not the remote, can’t you just use the buttons on the TV instead of the remote?”. Other issues we found that we did not contact Reception about were stained and ripped carpets and couches, broken cupboards in the kitchen and bathroom, stove and oven top settings worn out so I didn’t know which setting was which when trying to use it, faulty settings on the washing machine, holes in the walls where power points are located behind the beds, a dirty sock under the bed, the horrid stench of cigarettes and ********* upon every exit of our room and springs visibly sticking out of the bed. Our major issue however was the broken clothes dryer. We booked this accommodation g

Booked for one night. Clean room and toilet with clean sheets and towels provided. Private room was sufficiently big for 2 of us (one large and one small luggage). Highly recommend if you’re looking for a no-frills place to soend the night (no TV in room). Walking distance to northbridge was a plus!
The Hive Hostel - Traveler Friendly, Passport Only

This Hostel is very great : localisation, service, organisation… Its « roots » mood make you feel home really quickly ! People are nice, staff is listening to any issues you can have and help you solve it at anytime. There is a backyard which is a really good +. The hostel is clean, kitchen is functional and there are also many bathrooms so no need to wait long to get yourself wash. If you plan to stay in Perth a long time working, it’s the best hostel cause they have long-term availability which guarantee you your bed for a period of time as long as you keep reminding the staff you’ll stay a week more. To sum up, if you wanna stay in Perth for a long period of time, the Hive Hostel is the best.

We arrived in Perth at 2.30am and got a taxi straight from the airport. As it was in the middle of the night we had to press a buzzer and wait for someone to speak to us through the speaker, however they were either asleep or could not be bothered, so pressed the buzzer for a long time, finally someone came over the speaker which was distorted and they were telling me off for leaving my finger on the buzzer, they let us in and again he started telling us off about the buzzer, we totally ignored him stating our name and how many nights we were stating, i think he finally got the idea gave us a key and vouchers to get our breakfast. We just went to bed and viewed the room in the morning. Definitely needs redecorating, bed seem to go go slightly downhill head as we felt our feet were higher than our heads, pillows were flat, we had a sheet then a duvet which was had seen better days and needs a new one and then a top sheet. Bathroom was basic, did have a shower although it made some strange nosies and the temperature was up and down, no plug in the hand basin, there were toiletries which we never used. Breakfast was very basic, just some cold meats, cold hard boiled egg, salad and toast. If you wanted cook you had to pay along with Croissants, pain au raisin etc. Reception staff during the day were pleasant and very helpful, always had a smile. Getting around it was in a good position to get around the city, it was close to the Freebus service called the cat service which you can hop on and off at any time. Would we stay again - No - there's plenty of hotels in Perth .

Stayed at City Quarters on Brewer for a business trip. Found it very convenient and easy to access specially after hours. The room was very well presented clean and tidy. Location was excellent right on the CBD fringe and walking distance to all popular entertainment and precincts. I would definitely recommend for holiday, business or leisure.
Billabong Backpackers Resort

Great hostel! Stayed here for just shy of a week and had a great time! The facilities are really good, with one of the most feature-rich kitchens I've seen in a hostel (ovens and gas hobs... Unreal!). The common areas were large and plentiful, movie room, large dining room, pool etc. Couldn't ask for much more. Could imagine it'd be a great place for living longer term also, not just for the short term like myself. Loved the location, stones throw away from everything! 24 hour reception so I always felt safe and secure. Could not fault it! Stay here!
