LLulupurineWe had a good stay at The Ultimo Hotel Sydney. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit, which made a positive first impression. The facilities were great, and the location was very convenient, with easy access to transport and plenty of restaurants nearby that stayed open late at night.
The only area that needs improvement is the housekeeping. There were some marks on the bedding sheet, and one of the pillows appeared to have what looked like old dried blood and yellow stains. Aside from this issue, our overall experience was pleasant. With a bit more attention to cleanliness, this hotel would be even better.

SSamChiuThe hotel is in [city name], a 20-minute walk from the Sydney Opera House. It's a historic building with no city view. Because I booked at the last minute, only suites were available. For a room costing over $1000 a night, having to pay for everything in the minibar is one thing, so I didn't touch it. But when I asked the front desk for extra water bottles, they said it was for environmental reasons. They suggested I take the empty glass bottles from the two complimentary waters down to the bar for unlimited refills, or drink tap water. Seriously, a 280ml bottle? Environmental protection shouldn't be an excuse for poor service. Breakfast was included, but it was limited to a few fixed meal options. Barista-made coffee cost extra, though a long black was free. But here's the kicker: refills cost $5.50 per cup! What?! Overall, with this level of service and the corresponding price, I absolutely do not recommend it. Unless a standard room is under $200, it's not worth considering.
