"The hotel is located in the mid-levels. The environment is beautiful, the restaurant is beautiful, the food is first-rate, the waiters are very friendly, understand Chinese, there are two-person boat hire, you can go out to the sea to watch the sunset, the beach is beautiful, the water is crystal clear, hope to come again soon"
"In general, we've had excellent time in the PIR. The resort is good, located on a beautiful sandy beach with incredible snorkelling opportunities; the territory is nice and spacious. With that being sad, the hotel should be better maintained - some bed linen and towels are so old they have holes in them, there are barely any sunbeds on the beach, etc. Also, the restaurant's food leaves much to be desired. The spa is, however, rather nice, as well as the dive centre."

"The resort is located on a very long and quiet beach and, even if it is a bit disconcerting at first, it is the ideal place for those who want to spend a few days in total relaxation. The complex is spread over a fairly large area and offers various accommodations on the seafront. We booked one of these and it was really worth it. The room has a beautiful window overlooking the beach and, in the morning, waking up with the sound of the sea in the background is priceless. The room is quite comfortable, a small living room with a sofa and armchair, a bathroom and a bedroom. Outside, a small patio with two chairs and a small table. The bed is comfortable, quite large, the power outlets are convenient.
However, we did not like some things: starting with the bathroom which gave off a very bad smell of stagnant water and also persistent. We had to keep the door closed otherwise the bad smell spread to the rest of the room. In general, there was a lot of humidity throughout the bathroom, so much so that the various aluminum accessories had several rusty spots. The shower provided very little water, and to have hot water you had to turn on a second shower head. Externally, one of the two chairs was broken. Finally, there was a generator right behind the room and therefore the noise was very loud even inside, with the doors closed.
The services offered by the resort are quite extensive. The restaurant is mediocre, in terms of choice and quality of food. Many of the drinks are not available, many dishes on the menu are “out of stock”… but it is understandable considering that you are on an island. The pool is very large and beautiful even if not very clean. The deck chairs are few and also broken.
In conclusion, the real strong point of the resort is the staff and the location. The rest can be improved, there is a lot of potential and if only they took more care of it, there would be nothing to envy to more renowned brand resorts."
"The experience at Perhentian Marriott was a rollercoaster. Firstly, the initial service and welcome we received was excellent. The clean private jetty, clean and comfortable ferry, baggage handling and the buggy service straight up to our room in the hotel was a very warm and pleasant welcome. The hotel staff explicitly told us to buggy everywhere in the hotel.
Next, came the troubles. The room was beautiful (don’t get me wrong) but poorly refreshed for our stay. The usual menu/file was empty with nary any instructions or introduction on how to call for a buggy or the breakfast timings etc. usual stuff you’d find upon reaching the hotel room. The fridge was unclean and bath essentials not topped up. We called for housekeeping not wanting to let it spoil our vacation. After a sumptuous dinner (the hotel dinner buffet is actually really good sans the fact that they don’t tell you that the drinks counter is payable), we returned to dirty linen right outside our door (they removed the towels provided and did not replace we were left without towels) and opened water bottles in the cupboard. That’s not all, the water heater was down and there was no communication from the hospitality staff when the engineering team is fixing the heater or if it has been fixed. (We only found out they restarted the heater after we initiated a follow up with the team). The next day, as I attempted to take a bath I turned on the bath water and out spurted 100% hot water that scalded my knee. I called for burn cream and the hotel reception told us they did not have a first aid kit and instructed us to head to the store to purchase. No follow up on the matter and no acknowledgement of the issue is made from the team. It was a constant issue of us turning on the water (right in the middle, not hot not cold) for the taps and showers to spurt 100% hot water and us avoiding it.
The only redeeming point is that every restaurant, every in person staff we encountered from the buggy services to the pool side staff to the restaurant waitress everyone was lovely and warm.
(P.s. the route to long beach is fret with rubbish and flies)"
"The rooms are clean, there is a small refrigerator, hair dryer, kettle, no tea, coffee. Water is brought every day. Towels are changed, but to do this you have to throw them on the floor. On the last day, clean towels smelled strongly of mold. The air conditioner periodically turns off, to turn it on you have to press a button, in our room the air conditioner did not cool well. The food in the restaurant is more expensive than in other cafes and plus to this in the final bill they add another 18%, so we went to eat in a neighboring cafe, where the staff is very nice and the prices are normal. Next to the room grew a mango tree and every day langurs came to eat. The hotel beach is not very good for swimming, there are a lot of dead corals in the water. But it is 5-10 minutes to walk to the beautiful PIR beach. Overall, the hotel is not bad."
"We stayed in a chalet. The chalet was very basic, without a cupboard, a shelf... but really spacious. The bathroom was also large, the shower jet was very weak. The artificial grass in front of the door was inconvenient, just wooden planks would have been much more practical. All in all we were quite satisfied with the location and the spacious room. We thought the price was way too high for what we got, and the staff hardly seemed to know anything. One young man was very friendly but quite helpless, the others were not friendly. One man even looked at you disapprovingly when you brought something to the fridge, because he thought it was unthinkable that a can of beer would be put in his fridge."
"Impian Hotel warm gesture was really good as Staff name Hafzan (I hope i spell ur name correctly) so helpful from check in until check out when smoothly 😇.
If come to long beach please include Impian Hotel on ur list. Recommended 👍🏻."
"I feel cold when the air conditioner is on, and hot when it is off. I wonder if you are as hypocritical as me. I found that many hotels have this problem...
The hotel can directly book snorkeling, which is very convenient."
