"The room was quite small. My friend and I stayed there, hoping to save money on accommodation so we could spend more on activities. If you're traveling with two people and have the same idea, I'd recommend booking a larger room type. There was mold on the ceiling and power outlets. The toilet and shower were in the same compartment. You need a key card to access the upper floors, which requires a 30 RMB deposit with the owner. You can opt not to use the key card, but then you'll only be able to use the freight elevator. The room couldn't be deadbolted from the inside, and it was a small room within a larger suite. When I asked the owner about it, they said it was fine and no one could open it from the outside. However, the cleaning lady could enter every day. The pros are that it's cheap and close to the subway. Fushan Suo station is closer than May Fourth Square station. It's also very close to various attractions. Many uncles and aunties, children, and families also stay here."

"The environment is relatively quiet, with fewer people compared to other hotels. The semi-buffet breakfast has also been cancelled, probably due to cost-cutting. For a price of 2600 a night, I didn't experience the meticulous and thoughtful service that I'd expect; it was much worse than other five-star hotels. I'm not sure if this is a Qingdao characteristic or a brand characteristic. There was no room upgrade, and my child's breakfast was only waived after a hygiene issue in the room. The turndown service was decent. Overall, the value for money is very low."

"I stayed for two nights, one in a sea view room and one in a city view room. After my stay, I can definitely say that the sea view room is worth the extra cost. We stayed in a twin sea view room on the 17th floor, which offered an expansive view and beautiful scenery. Opening the window to see the ocean instantly lifted my spirits. The room was very spacious, the facilities were brand new, and the bedding was quite comfortable. The breakfast selection was rich and delicious; the Roujiamo, egg tarts, Jianbing, and Japanese bibimbap were all exceptionally good. I also tried the executive lounge on the 30th floor, which had an amazing view overlooking the sea. For dinner, there was a wide variety of options including desserts, seafood, stir-fried dishes, cold dishes, and sushi. The desserts weren't overly sweet, the seafood was very fresh, and the overall taste of the dishes was good. The beverage selection was also extensive. The pool and gym on the 31st floor offer stunning sea views if you visit during the day, making for a superb experience. The hotel also offers daily family-friendly activities such as Hanfu experiences and movie screenings, ensuring guests won't get bored even if they don't go out. I also have to mention MGM's milk tea – it had just the right amount of sweetness and a rich tea flavor. Even as someone who doesn't usually enjoy milk tea, I thought it was excellent, living up to its reputation as a popular internet celebrity drink. If I had to pick any downsides, one is that delivery orders cannot be brought directly to the room, and the other is that the cleanliness of the sink could be improved. All in all, my two-night stay at MGM provided the most satisfying accommodation experience of my Qingdao trip."

The location is excellent; everything lights up at night, and it's right across from MixC mall, with a subway entrance downstairs. It's only about a 15-minute walk to May Fourth Square, super convenient! The bedding was just okay; the comforter was thin and not particularly soft."

The breakfast is varied and includes local specialties. Service is top-notch; the front desk staff are professional and friendly, accommodating room requests. While it's an older five-star hotel that's been open for years and shows a bit of age, it's generally well-maintained and doesn't detract from a comfortable stay. With Hisense Plaza nearby, shopping and dining are incredibly convenient. It’s perfect for travelers who prioritize great views and convenience."

In the evening, enjoying the sea breeze on the terrace with a fresh draft beer really lets you soak in Qingdao's unique seaside and beer culture – it made the trip feel incredibly fulfilling."
