Environment: The location is fantastic, with a sea view right outside, and it's very close to the subway station. The room is also spacious. Service: The staff are very welcoming and professional. 👍

The Mandarin Hotel is located on Starlight Island in the West Coast New Area, surrounded by the sea and boasting stunning island scenery. As soon as you arrive, you can feel a sense of tranquility, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. The sea breeze creates a wonderful vacation vibe. However, there was an entertainment event on the island that day, so it was incredibly crowded. Stepping into the hotel lobby, the elegant and grand design perfectly blends with marine elements. The glass dome and crystal chandeliers complement each other beautifully. What impressed me most was the self-playing piano in the lobby; its melodious tunes flowed under the dome, adding an artistic touch to the entire space and instantly washing away any travel fatigue. My business twin room was spacious, clean, and tidy. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered breathtaking panoramic sea views. Drawing back the curtains in the morning, I was greeted by the magnificent sight of the sunrise over the ocean. The room was well-equipped, the bedding was comfortable, and every detail showcased quality. The hotel's amenities are excellent. The complimentary indoor pool has clear, well-maintained water and is a good size. It's very well-regulated; you need a swimming cap to use it, and there's also a sauna and hot spring. The gym is fully equipped, and in addition to exercise machines, there's a table tennis room and an aerobics room. The hotel garden is charming, with European-style stone carvings adding a unique flair. Just outside, there's a seaside boardwalk, perfect for enjoying the sea breeze. Parking and EV charging were very convenient, and the staff provided attentive and thoughtful service, making my entire stay, from check-in to check-out, feel incredibly welcoming.

I spent a weekend here, and it was a great experience! My apartment was absolutely fantastic, offering breathtaking views from the 42nd floor. Waking up to that sea view every morning was truly a highlight of my stay. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, making it a perfect place to relax after a long day. The facilities and services provided by the hotel are top‑notch. The hotel staff are helpful and professional. I am glad I chose this hotel for my trip! I genuinely enjoyed every moment spent there. For the past few summers, whenever I travel with my child, we've stayed at a Crowne Plaza. The Crowne Plaza Qingdao is in a great location. While the facilities might be a bit older, the cleanliness and service are consistently excellent. What's more, the price was half of what I paid last October in Xiamen. During my stay, I received a handwritten note from Ms. Liu Fengci from the service team. Even if it's part of her routine, it still brought a warm feeling to my heart as a guest. And then there's Ms. Yu Fei from customer service, who proactively called to check on our needs during our stay. The hotel truly demonstrates the soft power of an established brand. This time, I could genuinely feel they valued and looked forward to guest feedback on their work. I rarely write reviews, but this time I felt compelled to leave my thoughts.

Overall, I'm quite disappointed. I definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel for families with young children. Let's start with the positives, which go to the housekeeping staff. They provided plenty of water. I don't like the light from alarm clocks, and the attendant noticed I'd turned mine slightly away, understood I disliked the light, and even flipped it over for me. Very thoughtful service! Now for the many negatives! First, the front desk staff. I had purchased a voucher for two rooms for two nights, and I made this clear at check-in. However, on the third day, they still called me around noon asking if I was extending my stay, which disrupted my rest. Later, our room cards stopped working, leaving three adults and two children stranded on another floor. Extremely frustrating! The correct procedure would have been for them to check my reservation before calling, realize I had another booking, and then have an attendant deliver new cards to my room. Thumbs down! No breakfast in the executive lounge – thumbs down! If the executive lounge doesn't offer breakfast, then there should at least be a dedicated dining area in the main restaurant for executive room guests, offering priority seating. I booked an executive room precisely because I wanted to avoid crowded breakfasts and long queues. If I had known they couldn't provide this service, I would have chosen a different hotel or not booked an executive room, as there's a premium price attached, right? The hotel's family facilities – thumbs down! There are absolutely no family facilities, no kids' playground, and no kids' club activities. Nothing for toddlers to do. The beach – thumbs down! If you're coming specifically for the beach, don't bother. The hotel's so-called private beach is surrounded by two drainage outlets. When it rained, we could see dark, murky water being discharged directly into it. I wouldn't dare let my children play there. So, you'd have to walk quite a distance anyway, making staying here completely unnecessary. The rooms are very small. There are no connecting rooms, and even rooms of the same type aren't adjacent (according to the hotel staff themselves). The two rooms they assigned us had several other rooms in between, which was very inconvenient.

The hotel environment is clean and tidy, and the soundproofing is excellent, so it's not noisy at all. The weather was so hot, but we could play in the pool every day, which the kids absolutely loved. The breakfast had a wide variety of delicious options, especially the Three Delicacies pan-fried dumplings – they were bursting with juice! Kimi, who checked us in, had an excellent service attitude and even gave us welcome fruit. We'll definitely choose this hotel again next time we're in Qingdao.

The location is great, and the service is decent; the butler was very responsive. Stepping out of the backyard leads right to a huge beach, which is perfect for kids. The indoor swimming pool is clean and not crowded, with a dedicated splash area for toddlers, which is really excellent. There's also a large outdoor pool in the backyard that's very nice. All in all, the kids loved it and had a blast. My wife, on the other hand, felt the hotel was a bit dated and wasn't too fond of it, finding parts of it a bit unclean. However, it's really just the wear and tear of time, as the hotel has been open for 15 years, so it's bound to show its age. Overall, I still think it's a very good place, and I might even go back in the future.

This is the perfect place to stay if you love shopping malls! The transportation is convenient. Exit A2 of Wusi Square Station, turn left, walk for five minutes, and you'll see Yuexi Apartments on your right. The front desk is on the first floor for check-in. Nearby, there's a 7-Eleven and a Luckin Coffee, and a few restaurants further up the street. I'm giving it five stars mainly because the price is acceptable, and the staff at the front desk was friendly and polite. The in-room amenities aren't perfect; I recommend reading other reviews as many people have already pointed out key issues. However, these seem to be building-wide problems (like dimly lit corridors to save energy, slow elevators, etc.). Although the room I stayed in didn't have a stunning view (it wasn't a sea view room and was blocked by the building in front), the bed and pillows were very comfortable for all three nights, and housekeeping cleaned daily. For your first check-in, it's easier to enter from the first floor. Once you have your room card, you can access Yuexi Apartments from the 6th-floor Sky City Garden, which connects directly to MIXC Mall. The in-room washer and dryer are very convenient, and they provide a small packet of laundry detergent daily. The refrigerator is large and cold enough! I suggest adding a plate or two and some utensils to the kitchen, which would make it even more convenient for guests.

Pros: Great location, super close to Beer City – just across the street. Room service is quite affordable, and breakfast is good. Cons: It was incredibly noisy. At first, I thought the music was coming from Beer City across the road, but then I realized it was the hotel itself, playing incredibly loud music by the pool downstairs. It went on until I went to sleep, even after I returned from Beer City. They had set up a stage, but there was hardly anyone there, so I have no idea what they were doing.

This hotel is right by the sea, which makes getting around incredibly convenient. You're just a few steps away from seeing the ocean, and there are tons of restaurants nearby. The room was absolutely huge, and the price was very reasonable. Shandong people are so generous! Next time I'm in Qingdao, I'm definitely staying here again. Highly recommended!
