The room was clean and cozy, but there's no elevator. The space is quite large, with the living room and kitchen combined, and a separate bedroom. The location is very convenient, close to the city center and main streets, but it can be a bit noisy at night.

It's very welcoming to UK students! It's a studio apartment, and very clean. However, it's not particularly convenient if you have luggage; there are some steps to enter the building, and a spiral staircase to go upstairs.

Alfred’s Apartments turned out to be a brilliant last-minute find after I accidentally made a complete mess of my previous booking. The location was absolutely terrific — right in the heart of Reykjavík and ideal for exploring the city. The apartment was spotlessly clean, the bed was wonderfully comfortable, and having a small kitchen was an absolute lifesaver. Given Reykjavík prices, where even a bowl of soup can set you back nearly $20, being able to prepare the occasional meal made a real difference. Everything is self-service for check-in, but the owner/manager was incredibly helpful and made sure I got in safely despite my rather last-minute circumstances. For Reykjavík, this felt like exceptionally good value.
