We had the most lovely stay at this authentic, beautiful, guest house filled with antiques, artwork and the most delicious homemade jams! Marco and his wife were quintessential Italians full of charm, sophistication and warmth. Visiting with them over breakfast (which was fantastic) felt like we were spending time with dear, old friends. Our room was comfortable and the location was superb. We highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful stay in Trastevere We stayed three nights in this lovely B&B. The room was charming and quiet, the breakfast really nice and varied but most of all we enjoyed the talks and tips we got from the owner Marco. We will definitely come back and we would recommend you book through Sawdays.co.uk or directly with the B&B 😎

My husband and I stayed here only one night in order to be able to get to the airport quickly in the morning after vacationing elsewhere in Italy. The best part was the location, in easy walking distance to the restaurants and bars in Trastevere but on a quiet side street away from the hubbub. Our room was adequate for a one night stay. It was very dark with an updated bathroom, although the hairdryer was broken. We left before breakfast in a taxi the person who checked us in had arranged for us. The emails I sent to them in the weeks before our stay asking about airport transportation had gone unanswered. Next time I'll look for a different place to stay in the same neighborhood.

This place was a hidden gem!!! George greeted us and was very kind. He made breakfast for us each morning and made our stay very comfortable. We met the most wonderful people also staying here and couldn’t have been more pleased. The location was within walking distance of everything, and the establishment is clean and well taken care of. No corners were cut, and George went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.

This review is hard to write, as the hotel was *fine* but sort of odd. Great location, but I think George (who was the only employee we ever saw and really tried his best) needed some help. I have stayed at many small, mid-range European hotels, so I am not looking for high rise, American service and amenities, but several things were a bit off. Breakfast was pretty good, but George was away for some of it and there was no bread, coffee, nor water. The AC was iffy. One day at 4 pm, we were resting on our room before going out again for a later dinner, and George and another man came in to replace the toilet seat (which was just fine, so this wasn't an emergency). The room was very dark and small, and the bed was rock-hard. On our last day, I asked George to call for a taxi and he didn't do it. I asked again 30 min later, he wasn't able to get one, and we had to just look for one outside and nearly missed a train. We were in Rome during a national holiday, three-day weekend, so perhaps other staff were away, but it just felt a bit rough for the whole stay.

We were looking for authentic Italian accommodations while in Rome and Guest House Arco dei Tolomei was perfect for us. From the charming antiques and vintage furnishings to the wonderfully prepared breakfasts of homemade jams and juices our 7 night stay was truly delightful. The best part of our stay was Marco and George. We've never experienced this level of hospitality and care before. George took such good care of us and we looked forward to his breakfasts everyday. We enjoyed talking with Marco each morning at breakfast. Marco's passion for his city and appreciation for his guests make him a very special host.

Marco was an amazing host. He gave us such excellent directions on how to find the guesthouse and answered all my pre-arrival questions quickly and with such heartfelt kindness. The Guesthouse is a lovely place to stay. Not only is the location convenient for walking to many of the important sights in Rome-it is surrounded by wonderful restaurants. Although we didn't have the pleasure of meeting Marco in person, George was there for us and made our stay delightful. He greeted us on our arrival and helped get us to the airport on time. Marco was out of the country while we were there and left us a nice letter welcoming us in our room with restaurant suggestions and details of our stay. Marco also helped us get a reservation at a restaurant we were anxious to try! I could go on- but honestly don't waste time looking for a better place to stay in Rome, because you will never find one! Thank you Marco and George for the fantastic stay!

Marco's pre-arrival communications were top-notch—prompt, clear and helpful. Our train from Venice was delayed by four hours, such that I'm pretty sure we interrupted his dinner when we showed up on his doorstep, but he greeted us warmly at the door, insisted on helping my wife up the stairs with the luggage, and gave us a great orientation to Rome, with twice as many insider recommendations than we had days to exploit. We really enjoyed our elegant and lavish breakfasts in the Tolomei dining room. Marco and Gianna are natural hosts who really enjoy getting to know their guests and sharing life stories. Their Maitre D George fed and caffeinated us well every morning. Marco went above and beyond several times for us, using his pull to get us restaurant reservations at popular, tiny mom & pop places, and even spent at least half a day battling on my behalf with a very wonky ticket portal for Galleria Borghese. Trastevere turned out to be the perfect neighborhood to stay in, out of the mega-tourist areas and chock full of authentic family-run eateries and caffes. We'll most definitely be back. Gratzi Mille Marco, Gianna, George (and of course Alleponia!) Arrivaderci, Geoff and Mandy

Cute little guesthouse in a lovely part of town. The owner is delightful. I suffer from anxiety and he let me change my room twice. Each room is unique. A great selection of guide books. Right in the hubbub of Trastevere near some really nice bars and restaurants. Highly recommended
