Parking! It is key if you have a car. Location is great. This property is a block from the town square and is next to the only town gate that turns into a walking path and is not a road for cars to drive through. Lots of cute shops on the street.
The manager, Tia, was wonderful. Very helpful. She’s lived in Rothenburg all her life. My husband and I had schnapps there in their bar after the Night Watchman tour and really enjoyed ourselves. She joined us for a little bit. We learned the property was over 800 years old and some of what we saw was actually original. Nicely restored. Our room was the least expensive and turned out to be a suite. Comfortable beds, quiet room, modern bathroom. Not something you can count on in these wonderful, restored properties, even the expensive ones. I really enjoyed the breakfast. Always pleased when I get fresh prosciutto, good cheese and eggs cooked to order!
