the stay was like in a Wes Anderson Movie, with the staff as special characters. Everyone was very sympathetic and helpful. Felipe the driver made the transfers fun. The hotel is clean, quiet a welcoming. The sauna, which is big, is also an amazing experience. Finally, the breakfast was delicious and fresh. We recommend!!!

Perfect from start to finish! After searching and checking reviews for a place to stay in Saas Fee, I finally decided to contact The Fletschhorn to make a reservation. When surprising my husband with an overnight stay for our Anniversary, it couldn't have been better. The friendly and welcoming service, amazingly delicious food, beautiful and comfortable room with a king-size bed, and the private spa area with sauna - truly amazing! Every special touch made for a wonderful experience. We were greeted by Philippe who picked us up from the car park and drove us to the ski lift - he is super friendly and personable yet professional. After we were finished the afternoon on the slopes, he picked us up and drove us to the hotel where he showed us where we could store our ski gear until morning. Anna welcomed us to the hotel where we were seated for a complimentary glass of champagne and small dish of locally sourced bread, meats and cheeses. She provided us with a menu to select everything we would like to have for breakfast the next morning as well as asking us what time we preferred. She then asked what time we would like to have dinner. Anna then provided us with the special five-course dinner menu, but I asked for the a la cart menu as well to see what other dished were offered. We were then shown our room which had a very comfortable king-size bed with lovely bedding, nice decor, beautiful views from our balcony and spacious accommodations. We got settled in and changed out of our ski clothes so we could enjoy the complimentary private use of the sauna/spa area that was reserved for us. After relaxing in the spa area, we got ready for dinner. Everything was flawless up to this point! We were greeted by Nuno who sat us down in the beautiful dining room. We were offered to select a wine from the wine cellar below where we chose a nice bottle of red wine that was recommended by Nuno. Although I was not going to opt for the 5-course dinner, my husband decided he was going to go for it. In the past, I wasn't a fan of duck or truffle, both which were part of the five-course dinner, so I was going to order off of the a la cart menu which had several options available - beef filet, salmon, prawns, pasta, etc. that I could have chosen instead. I decided to go for the five-course dinner - and I'm SO glad I did. It did not disappoint one bit. The dinner was fabulous! The food was delicious, the service was perfectly timed, the server was helpful and friendly, and we loved every single part. As for dessert, even though my husband was going to opt for his favorite, cheesecake, we were surprised to find out that the chef had made a special dessert just for us for our Anniversary that was beautiful and tasted wonderful! A perfect finishing touch to a five-star dinner experience! After over-indulging on such a fabulous evening, it was off to bed for a wonderful night of sleep. In the morning, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast where everything we had asked for was mad

We stayed at the hotel for one night on our six day walk from Rosswald to Zermatt. It occupies a delightful place in the woods with amazing views near Saas Fee. The owners are very happy to pick guests up from Saas Fee. Our room was super comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed a private booking in the sauna (no extra charge) and a delicious and simple dinner. We ordered the breakfast the night before, and even requested an earlier start - the owners were really accommodating. Lovely relaxing place to stay - I would highly recommend it. Just wish we'd been able to stay longer!

Very highly recommended! This hotel was superb in every way. It is off the beaten path, high up in the mountains above Saas Fee, but accessible day or night by means of the friendly Felipe, electric car shuttle driver dispatched whenever needed by Siegfried, the hotel manager who seamlessly manages the staff and supplies travel advice. A small enterprise, the staff is up close and personal and gave great service. We had special dietary needs and they supported us with a smile. Greg, a masseur who doubles as waiter, was so attentive. Our gorgeous wood and stone suite was honestly the most beautiful and aesthetic hotel accommodations we’ve had in decades. Gorgeous space with about 10 meters of window space looking over the Alps, perfectly appointed with very fabulous mattress and pillows, faux fur blankets, mini kitchenette, exercise bike and hot tub.

A stay at the Fletschhorn starts with magic. The shuttle service takes you through a small trail in the woods to this secluded, modern Hotel with a stunning mountain view. It is a remarkably exclusive stay and yet it has a familiar feel to it. The whine cellar has much to offer and after a day in the outdoors the two sauna's invite to an relaxing evening. I highly recommend the Fletschhorn for everyone who seeks a break from everyday life.

We visited this hotel 20 years ago when the Chef Marcus was in residence and enjoyed 2 of the best fine dining meals ever. Marcus has since retired as well as the owner and the hotel was acquired a couple of years back weeks before Swiss hotels went into Covid lockdown. We felt really sorry for new owner Siegfried who has plainly been battered financially by Covid and was doing everything he could to welcome us as some of h[s first guests. He upgraded us to a wonderful suite called the Miralux with stupendous views over the valley below. It felt as though it was still being finished with a refurb as the jacuzzi was new and did not work. The hotel is as exquisite as ever and Siegfried was charming and eager to please. However the slight disappointment was the dinner by his Austrian chef. Siegfried wants to convert the culinary theme from Marcus's michelin starred fine dining to local organic wholesome food which has taken away its unique selling point. The hotel accommodation was correctly priced but the food way overpriced for ordinary cooking. We wish Siegfried success in restoring the hotel's reputation because he deserves it. It's a beautiful location Give it a chance

We went to the Waldhotel years ago and had one of the most amazing meals ever. So decided to rebook on our recent trip to Switzerland. It started off very well - the owner is very welcoming and had upgraded us to the suite which has amazing views. It was a lovely room and seemed to be packed with luxury facilities. However, we soon found out that nothing seemed to work. The wifi was down (I will let them off this as it was, apparently due to a thunderstorm) but we then found out the TV did not work. There were instructions on using the satellite TV but the TV just requested a smart card - so we were unable to view anything. There was an amazing double jacuzzi bath but no instructions and we could not find out how to make it work at all. There was a fitness bike int eh room (great idea) but it was not plugged in. We were also told the minibar was free - water and beer - but no evidence of a bottle opener! The food was nothing like we had on our previous visit. I can only describe it as hearty food with very little sophistication in the cooking. There was some home cooked ravioli but it was pretty tasteless. The main course was lamb shank which was very fatty , served with very overcooked potatoes and some gravy / sauce. It certainly wasn't the fine dining that I would expect in a place like this where we ended up with a bill of over 500 CHF for 1 night. I have given 3 starts only because the room was very nice if you ignore all the things that didn't work!
