3-Star Hotels in Sandton

Johannesburg is not as safe as Cape Town so you need to put yourself somewhere safe when traveling there. Sandton is a better area and there is a big shopping mall right next to this hotel and you can find everything there including a supermarket, shops, & lot of restaurants if you don't want to eat in the hotel restaurant. They have parking in basement too with metal gate for an additional R55 per night which I found it reasonable. In general, staffs are helpful and nice, great location, great food in the hotel restaurant too. I will definitely stay there again if I would go to Johannesburg again.

Good experience. The facilities were top-notch with everything I needed to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The staffs were friendly and helpful to make sure I had everything I needed. The breakfast was good with many of selection for choice. The hotel's location was also excellent, with easy access to the centre of Johannesburg. Overall, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay with excellent facilities and a convenient location.

Disliked: I honestly feel like the pictures posted on Bookings.Com are a total misrepresentation of what one walks into. We walked into an apartment that looked empty. The lounge area to be precise looked like our furniture was repossessed or we were new tenants waiting for furniture to be delivered. It looked cold and unwelcoming. The pictures on the other hand showed a fully furnished apartment with carpets and or a table in the middle of the lounge. 90% of the TV channels gave error 48-32, and the channels that play without a problem are kids channels. Apparently, the area has signal problems. The cutlery and crockery was a joke, 1 eating fork, 1 spoon, 2 steak forks, 2 teaspoons, 3 butter knives, no bread knife or chopping knives. 4 pots, only 2 of those pots have lids. Only 1 small serving dish, the other one had no lid. When we checked in, we had to pay R200 damage fees, which we were aware of, however, no one walked us to our room for an inspection, despite having paid the damage fee.....when we got to our room, the kettle lid was broken, the cabinet door on the island was broken... The accommodation is located on Grayston drive. It's a busy street, so obviously, there are no silent nights. So if you are hoping for a quiet day or night l, this won't be a place for you. The same night we checked in, we wanted to cancel our reservation and book somewhere else. Unfortunately for us when we went to reception, the reception was closed and we couldn't be assisted. for a place located in Sandton I had high expectations and they were definitely not met.

Poor service started as I got out of the Uber and the guy at the door of the hotel just looked at me , with suitcases and all - did not offer any help. The rooms are the tiniest I’ve ever slept in, Reception did not advise that I had to connect to tv via app on phone. It didn’t help there were no phones in the rooms so had to call the hotel from my cellphone. Waited for an hour to get remote . Room was stuffy had to sleep with the window open. Next day I waited an hour and a half for an iron - eventually left in creasy clothes. Skipped on breakfast as restaurant was so full and no one to assist when I got there. Next day again had to call for an iron very early and it came after I had called reception twice using my cellphone .No room service, no kettle in room either!!!!! Regretted being at this hotel. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone

I have just stayed there for 8 nights and had major reservations when reading the reviews. I’m happy to report that my stay was fantastic. That staff were great. The internet was quick and stable. The towels were clean and fluffy. The water pressure was strong and the apartment was clean. I’m glad I trusted my instincts and gave them a chance. A very nice stay indeed. Well done!!!

Excellently located garden cottage. Easy access and exit. Very close to benmore shopping center and sandton city. Very safe and also great facilities. Would definitely recommend to anyone that is looking to enjoy their stay in jhb/sandton for either business or vacation.

The Residency is my stay of choice in Sandhurst/Sandton, this is my 8th stay perhaps more, the same price as a suite in a 4 star hotel, but three times the size and doubly comfortable, with proper kitchen and all facilities you'd expect from a 5 star establishment. The elegance of The Residency apart from its location is its low key helpful personnel, obliging, attentive and kind always helpful, rooms are spotlessly clean and designed in good taste. Unlike other similar locales in the neighborhood, there is no noise, no smells of others cooking. And no unnecessary buzz of activity or doors opening or closing. A blip in the TV reception was rectified within minutes at 22.00 hours in the evening. A very well run establishment, consistent, clean and elegant.

I spent two weeks at the Piazza Hotel Monte****** for business, and it was amazing from beginning to end! Starting with Sipho, the taxi driver who fetched me from the airport and took me to the hotel (and helped with daily transport to site) - he was a gem! Always on time, efficient and friendly. I strongly recommend his services. My room was always spotless, breakfast was great and so was the room service - the best soups and sandwiches I've ever had. The staff were so welcoming, helpful and always friendly. Being within the Monte****** complex provided us with endless dinner choices - we didn't have one bad meal. I would highly recommend the Piazza Hotel.
