Sandton Lodge Rivonia
3.9/511 Reviews
I was at Sandton Lodge for a conference that I organised. The staff were extremely helpful and flexible in the lead up to the event, and very approachable and professional throughout. This was the second time to host an event at the venue. It is very safe and private; an excellent space for meetings/workshops; has a lovely garden and pool (not used as it was winter); and a family feel to the well coordinated and friendly staff. My only constructive comment is that on the first time visiting the Lodge my taxi driver was directed the wrong way as the hotel is on the corner of a private road; sharing detailed instructions with guests may be helpful to avoid this situation. Overall, I would recommend for anyone seeking a quiet space in this suburb.

Hotel location ojbk. Opposite the casino. Two minutes walk. There are various meals in it. The environment is also great. The main thing is security. You can walk around. The hotel environment is very good, the decoration is good, the casino is ok, the restaurant has good international food, it is very comfortable, the main location is near the city, so the business trip is very convenient
Dunton Guest House

We experienced a wonderful stay at Dunton Guest House. We arrived late after a long drive from Timbavati with our family, which exist of 15 people, youngest 3 months and oldest 74 years old. The owner was very thoughtful to switch a room to the ground floor for the less mobile people. In no time everyone was checked-in and settled in a beautiful rooms. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The owner and wife are lovely and friendly people. The garden with pool is beautiful, well-maintained with seats to sit and enjoy.

City Lodge Hotel Fourways

This hotel is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Call started with making a reservation. Called a couple of times, but there was no answer. Eventually, I got through only to be transferred to 4 different people. Then got got off again. Called back and spoke to the GM. She then assisted me with the reservation. Got an email that confirmed everything. Mailed back again 5 days before our check-in date to confirm everything. Upon arrival at the hotel at 16:30. We were told that only one room was ready and we would need to wait for the other room. Only after I told them that I will cancel my reservation and go to a nother Hotel if I don't get my room within 10min. Then the room was all of a sudden ready. Got to the room. Safe was not working. I called to ask for someone to come and fixed it and also asked for an ironing board. Mentioned that where in a a bit of a rush. Waited, and no one showed up. During the time my door opened and a housekeeping staff member just walked in without knocking. This I found extremely unexpectedly. How can the staff just walk in without knowing. I was running later. Try calling again to the reception, explaining that I'm late because of them not showing up. I asked to speak to the GM about all these issues. However, upon going out of the hotel, I was informed that the GM is not available to take my call. I can email her!! Are you for real? You, as a GM, are in charge, and if you are not available, what about your assistant. Got back from the ******. We requested to buy some water. Only to be told the hotel does not have any water. You will need to go to the shop. This is one of the biggest disappoin**ents of a stay. We only have 2 days. But we have to go through all this drama. Told the night manager at reception that we will check out on Saturday. The answer was that I would need to speak to my assistant GM. This hotel is not worth staying at. Staff need training. There is no commission between the staff. Better take your business a cross the road and pay a bit extra and have to deal with all his headache and extra stress.
Sunninghill Guest Lodges
4.4/514 Reviews
Arriving at the Guest Lodge our perception was truly on the negative and this was caused by our previous experiences in Cape Town. The staff members deserve an award, wow! I truly do not have any words. Friendly, servicing with a smile, helpful and truly go beyond the call of duty. A male by the name of Bongani, God bless his heart, he represented the Accommodation sector and Sunninghill Guest Lodge with so much passion and dedication. Thank you so much for the experience, I am sure coming back!.
