"This is a wonderful hotel to stay at when visiting Fenghuang. Its about 15min taxi ride from train station and right to the hotel front door for 26 yuan. The staff are super friendly and helpful - communicate to them via wechat. I had a 25kg suitcase and staff carried it up 2 flights of stairs for me, theres no lift. The room and view is as pictured - has everything you need for a pleasant stay.
1 full day is enough to see everything - started around 10.30am and went back to hotel by 4.30pm to shower and rest then ventured out after 7pm for dinner and the night lights... got back at 10.30pm. If you pay extra to visit the local historical attractions and watch the show then its best to stay 2 nights - I just wandered the streets, ate and shopped. Theres some very nice and cheap souvenirs here! I really enjoyed my time in Fenghuang thanks to the hotel and staff. Simply amazing! Highly recommend this hotel. It may look far from ancient town centre on the map but only 10min walk. Wear comfy shoes, you will get a good workout exploring here!"

"The guesthouse is located on a commercial street right next to the ancient town. Be aware that the street is quite narrow for vehicles, making it tricky to pass other cars. Upon arrival, the owner thoughtfully led us to parking on an electric scooter and then brought the driver back to the guesthouse, which was very convenient. The highlight for us was the guesthouse's balcony, offering direct, unbeatable views of the ancient town! Even when the bars in the old town were lively at night, the guesthouse remained remarkably quiet with the doors and windows closed, ensuring our rest was completely undisturbed. There are plenty of great food options nearby, and you can step directly into the ancient town from the building. Overall, it was a decent stay. However, a significant drawback was the lack of hot water for showers in the evening. It seemed hot water might not be supplied late at night, as our entire family ended up taking cold showers."

"This was our second visit. The host was absolutely perfect, helping us get everything perfectly organized. The only thing was, on our first day, we forgot to ask the host for dinner recommendations, so we just picked a Hunan restaurant that seemed busy. Big mistake! Everyone, steer clear! A dish that would cost 38 elsewhere was 138 there. We thought it would be delicious because it was so crowded, but even the chicken tasted off. I suspect all those people were paid shills.
The next day, the 'Whole-Ox Feast' recommended by the host is truly worth recommending – it's incredibly good value for money. Best of all, we got 8 dishes for less than 200 yuan, and every single one was generously portioned and delicious. Even the locals eat there! So, if you're coming to visit, stay with this host and have them recommend the 'Whole-Ox Feast'. Make sure to ask them to book it for you in advance, or you might not get a table. I genuinely recommend it."

"Stayed in the Yanxia Yunran Private Soup River View Suite for two nights and waking up to the beautiful river and ancient rooftops felt like stepping into a dream (photo with our view is attached). The suite was spotless, cozy, and had a charming traditional aesthetic with modern comforts (that huge stone bathtub with a view was perfection).
The owner didn’t just host us, he gave us the trip of a lifetime.
We arrived late in the evening and took advantage of the amazing location to explore some of the town before heading back to our room. Which then, the owner welcomed us with tea and sesame seed dumplings.
He went above and beyond on our second day. He helped us bargain for new luggage, acted as our complimentary translator/guide, booked us tickets to an unforgettable local show, and even found the best spot for Miao ethnic clothing photoshoots. We ended the night with him treating us to local BBQ and drinks, sharing stories, and teaching each other about our cultures.
This isn’t just a B&B, it’s a cultural immersion with a host who treats you like old friends. If you’re going to Fenghuang, book here. No question. We’re already planning our return!"

"Great view! Windows are a bit murky, my bathtub water barely ran, the one in my friends room worked though. Built in speaker system was great! Also a small washing machine and heated dryer rack in the bathroom. We travelled with backpacks so getting to the location was easy but as with any hotel in the ancient town I imagine suitcase can be a bit annoying to carry."

"This place absolutely deserves a perfect five-star rating! The experience was so fantastic, I can't wait to tell everyone about it.
From the moment we checked in until we checked out, the service was incredibly thoughtful and heartwarming. The staff were super responsive, instantly addressing any needs. Their attitude was consistently kind and gentle, showing great patience when helping with luggage and recommending local sights. They were genuinely friendly and approachable, making us feel completely at ease.
The guesthouse's location is absolutely unbeatable! It's incredibly convenient for both exploring attractions and grabbing a meal, with everything just a few minutes' walk away. This saved us a lot of travel time, making our outings incredibly efficient.
And finally, the room! It was impeccably clean. The amenities were brand new and worked perfectly, and the bedding was so comfortable, I never wanted to leave it. The soundproofing was excellent too, ensuring a quiet night and a truly restful sleep.

"Firstly, we booked a street side room, but I saw the room with a balcony over the river and it is well-worth the upgrade!! Highly recommend splurging for the river view. The owner/manager was great, spoke English, and was very helpful. He met us where the taxi dropped us and assisted with carrying our luggage. He did the same when we left, which was much appreciated. If you book pretty much any of the hotels along the river, you will need to walk a bit and it might be a bit difficult. One thing to be mindful of is that there are a lot of mosquitoes in the vicinity. That’s just part of the experience being along the river. The hotel provides a plug in device for mosquitoes and once you turn on the a/c, the mosquitoes tend to go away. Still, you may want to bring some bug spray. There were a couple other types of bugs around, but overall not too unpleasant. Again, nothing much any of the river-side inns can do about it. We stayed for just one night so even though the room is small, we managed ok. Overall, we highly recommend this inn, but go for the riverside view with balcony. It’s beautiful and you will be able to take very cute photos there."

"The guesthouse is ideally located along the middle stretch of the Tuo River, tucked away in a small alley next to the city wall and close to the Stone Jump Bridge, making it perfect for early morning photography. The courtyard features a quaint and elegant traditional Chinese design, while the rooms are equipped with very modern and user-friendly amenities. The host provides complimentary station pickup, offered excellent recommendations for local dining, and even allowed a late check-out, giving us ample time to explore on our second morning. They were incredibly helpful to us as first-time visitors."

"This homestay was a bit off the road and 2 large sets of stairs to the front entrance. The staff was wonderful, waiting for us at the street to help with our luggage.
With the use of my daughters translator we were able to book the evening boat tour on the river with the manager. We expected a better view from our room thinking the supplied photo on the room description would be our view. Our mistake. I guess that is the 3rd floor view. The room was really nice, clean and comfortably accommodated 3 adults. The location was great right by the river and one bridge to cross the river.
There was a mix up the following morning with our transfer to the train station but they were able to arrange new transportation and we managed to just make our train. Very little if no English is spoken so a translator app is a must."

The staff was incredibly friendly, always responded to messages promptly, and quickly addressed any needs we had. The room offered a fantastic river view, which truly made our travel experience complete!"
