We spent two nights in the Box Canyon Cabin complex at the Moose cabin. It worked well for our party of 6 with two bedrooms and one bathroom. This was a cheaper and more efficient way to stay than for us to get two separate hotel rooms somewhere and having the kitchen area was very nice. Although we didn’t see any wildlife the grounds are very nice. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.

Cabin that accommodates 5 very well. Nice on site activities, outside grill, firepit and laundry. We were traveling for family adventure and extended our stay at this property for 1 day. We would like to find accommodations of this quality and price in other locations. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.

I was a guest here with my family. This is a lovely 2 bedroom cabin. But there are several things missing which would have made the stay much better. The good things are: covered porch with Adirondack chairs, lovely grounds, cable tv worked well, lots of towels in bathroom. Here are the items that detracted from the cabin: Welcome/instruction book is seriously outdated and useless. Large heater broken, no sign to indicate this-spent an hour or three trying to turn it on. Electric heaters in LR, and 2 BRs although the 2nd BR heater was hidden in closet. Called for another heater and was told the large heater was broken and that is why there are electric heaters. Like we would know that??? Person brought a heater with a broken wheel which had to be just right to stay upright. Sign over gas stove/oven said we had to keep the bedroom doors open because the smoke detectors would go off and bother everyone including people upstairs. Uhh….there were no smoke detectors in cabin-all had been removed. Not good. Kitchen could use a strainer for pasta, otherwise adequately stocked for cookware & knives & flatware. And if you use the microwave & toaster at same time, the fuse will blow-fuse boxes is in 2nd bedroom by the way. One working gas grill for entire cabins -we were the furthest and pretty sure food would have turned cold by the time it was walked back to cabin. Beware there are people renting (not the owners of the place)on 2nd floor above you who are fairly noisy at night walking to bathroom, flushing, etc. If they get the big items (heaters, smoke detectors, CO) fixed it would be a lovely place to stay.

We loved our stay, just wished we had stayed longer. Our expectations were met. We even saw a young Black Bear. If we would get the chance to visit again we would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful property! Just far enough from town to feel secluded, but close enough for convenience. With Gramma, Grampa, Mom, Dad, and 2 smallish children in our group, we wanted to stick to a reasonable lodging budget, so we searched for lodging where we could all stay together instead of renting 2 units. I've written this review with that perspective in mind. We chose one of the 2 bedroom cabins. The Fisherman's Cabin was a little "cozy" for 6 of us, but doable! There was only a couch and 4 dining chairs for seating, but it was really quite comfortable for a 3 night stay, especially since we were out and about most of the daylight hours. The cabin was very clean, beds and linens were clean and comfortable, bathroom was very clean. The pull out sofa was ok for the kiddos but less comfy for adults, as was to be expected. A few more forks and spoons would have been quite helpful, but otherwise the kitchen was well stocked. There was a little bit of an issue with inadequate wiring for the kitchen appliances, but we managed and just didn't use the microwave at the same time as the toaster or coffee maker. We did have a visit from a little bear searching for something to eat, so guests should be cautious about shutting doors and allowing children to play or eat outdoors unsupervised. We would stay here again without hesitation!

This place was our best experience's cabin in Alaska on those 15 days . The garden , the pond , the source is perfectly maintained , with 2 fireplaces , 2 gas BBQ , tables and seats for the 6 cabins ( we met no one 😳) . Even all the necessary wood / lighters/ fire-accelerate were at disposal . Landry and a cabin READY to cook to live with a large sitting room ( TV with cable) / kitchen, a separate large ( new clean shower) bathroom and 2 well decorated ( fish theme ) bedrooms ( 1 king and 2 single beds) . On top , visit of a morning black bear , we are in the woods, close to bear creek... so best experience.

Very nice place to stay. Clean. Private. Full kitchen with an oven, stovetop and full sized fridge! We could have cooked full meals! The drive to it is a long dirt road and off the beaten path of the tourist feel of Seward. We are spoiled for staying in a hotel now!

We initially picked Box Canyon Cabins for our stay in Seward because of the reasonable price/night when compared to other areas in Seward. After spending 5+ days here, we'd definitely plan to stay here again for our next visit to the area. The cabins sit a mile or two outside of town, which helped give you a break from the tourist chaos that Seward can be in peak season. It was a quiet and relaxing retreat while still being close enough to town to be convenient. The manager/owner, Danny, always kept a good line of communication open throughout our trip to make sure we had everything we needed. Customer service is something that they take seriously, which is always good to see. We stayed in the Eagles Nest cabin which was a studio style unit. For my wife and I, it was a cozy spot without being too cramped. They also have an onsite laundry facility and an outdoor firepit which we used a couple time while there. Overall, this is a great spot to stay at for the price and the secluded feeling it gives. Alaska wouldn't have been the same if we had stayed in a cramped hotel room. If you get a chance, check out IdidaRide dog sledding tours down the street from the cabins. It's owned by the same family, and it was an awesome experience.

Stayed for a couple of nights this week. Communication during booking and arrival were friendly and prompt. I missed the check-in instructions email as my phone was acting up after we landed in Alaska, but a quick phone call took care of my miss in a jiff. Property grounds and very well maintained and lush. Cabin we were in was a smaller, but cozy and spotless unit that had a large porch that could be enjoyed even in the rain. Unit could be updated soon as it felt a little dated inside. Unit also shared a roof with the laundry, which 90% of the time was not noticeable. This past Sunday morning, there was loud banging of something or other in the room which was noticeable. Would stay again for sure!
