Maijin Hotel（Hongkou Football Stadium Zhongshan North 1st Road Branch）

Facilities: The laundry room dryer costs 20, which feels a bit pricey. The hotel itself seems quite large, perhaps typical for Shanghai. Cleanliness: Pretty good. Environment: The first room I was given had a buzzing sound from the bedside power outlet. They promptly switched me to a new room, but the pillows in the new room weren't clean. Overall, the air quality wasn't great; it had a sort of KTV smell. Service: The front desk service was good.

The air conditioning was super powerful, almost too cold for me, but I slept really well. They also provided two bottles of mineral water, disposable slippers, toothpaste and toothbrush, and a bar of soap. The bathroom was very clean, and the TV was okay, though it seemed like an older model. The hotel even has a piano. The soundproofing was pretty decent, I think. I booked a windowless room, and the noise from nearby seemed fine. The front desk service was excellent, and the cleanliness was great. I accidentally booked the wrong date and then forgot my room card, but the front desk staff helped me with everything. I was truly touched! (^～^) It’s quite suitable for solo travelers. There's a bus stop right at the entrance, super close. There's also a police station nearby, which made me feel very safe. Plus, there's a FamilyMart convenience store next door. It’s about a 5-minute bike ride to Da Baishu Metro Station, and Fudan University is about two bus stops away. Overall, it’s quite convenient for getting around; most tourist spots are accessible by transferring from Line 3 to Line 8. The restaurant is a bit small but convenient, though I didn't eat there. The only downside is that I didn't want to go home after staying here; I already want to live in Shanghai!

The facilities are new, and the location is super close to the subway station. There's also a bus stop right outside, which makes getting around very convenient. However, I'm not sure if there were bugs in the room or something, but I got bitten. Also, there's a security guard downstairs every night, which feels very safe.

Traveling to Shanghai for a business trip alone, this hotel has a great location and offers excellent value for money. Among hotels in the same area, I highly recommend this one.

The room was spotless, tidy, and well-organized, with excellent amenities and high-quality toiletries. There was free TV and the air conditioning kept the room cool. The front desk staff and cleaning ladies were incredibly thoughtful, making it feel like a home away from home. The price was also very reasonable. I've stayed here twice now, and if I'm in the area again, I'll definitely choose this hotel. The experience was fantastic, and I highly recommend it!

It's really close to Fudan University, but the soundproofing is genuinely poor. I could clearly hear the cheers from the next room as they watched a football match at night. There seems to be a hospital nearby too, as I'd occasionally hear piercing ambulance sirens throughout the night. The breakfast was simple but decent, though the soy milk was way too sweet. Everything else was pretty satisfactory.

Shortly after checking in, someone used a key card to try and open our room door, and it sounded like they actually managed to open it (though I'm not entirely sure). It was a really bad check-in experience; that moment was incredibly awkward. If the door really did open, that would be a major oversight by the front desk. Secondly, the hotel's hairdryer was faulty. It claimed to be 1800W, but it was actually harder to use than the 800W one I had in my college dorm. My hair was still dripping after blowing it for ages. I asked the front desk to send another one, but the replacement hairdryer would overheat and shut off in less than ten seconds when on the hot setting. When I called the front desk again, their attitude was much less pleasant and they seemed annoyed. All in all, blow-drying my hair that night was a real struggle. However, the location is pretty good, close to Hongkou Football Stadium and Luxun Park.
