Stoney Creek Hotel Sioux City

We loved our stay. We were nervous because previous reviews said the furniture and carpets needed replacement. Not true! The ambiance they are going for is a rustic cabin or fishing lodge. As far as I could tell, just one chair in each room is „distressed“ meaning the chair was new but had been beat up to make it look old. The breakfast was very good. I‘ve never seen croissants at a hotel breakfast before. We especially appreciated that the rooms were truly clean-no stray hairs or flecks of junk to try to ignore. I thought the beds were perfect while my husband said they were a little too firm.

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Both check in and check out personnel were exemplary and extremely personable. Breakfast was great: several prepackaged cereals, make your own waffles; bacon, sausage patties, and omelets ready in baggies to microwave. Biscuits and gravy were fabulous. Fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, 7 types of teabags, hot cocoa, coffee with 3 flavored creamers and half and half. Very convenient location and great price.

We paid for the room through Agoda and we were told the card had been declined and we needed to pay for it again. We gave the confirmation number and showed the receipt that showed it was not declined. The lady at the front desk was very rude and refused to give us the room we paid for and we had to leave! Do not stay at this hotel!!!! They tried to scam us out of paying for the room twice!!! I contacted Agoda and after some time they refunded the money back because the front desk refused to answer the phone or reply back. This hotel was dirty in the lobby and probably a good thing we didn’t stay!! Go across the street to The New Victorian Inn and Suites! They were wonderful and the hotel was amazing!!!!!!!!! P.S. the card did not decline. It worked just fine and the room was paid for and we had proof! This place is a scam and we were told by another business near by this is common for this hotel to do to travelers!!!! DO NOT STAY THERE!

It was wonderful everything was wonderful. The building was amazing it has a pool, hot tub, sauna, blowing, pool table, dart games. And the roof top bar is beautiful. We went for a weekend getaway we had dinner here is was delicious and the whole staff were welcoming. Thank you all for a wonderful stay. It's a bit of pricey for me but so worth it.

Very nice hotel, located in close proximity to I29. Although it appears somewhat separated from other amenities, such as restaurants and stores, it is located within easy driving distance to multiple locations. The exterior looked OK, but my stay occurred during the winter season ... hard to see any landscaping. Nonetheless, the outside grounds looked clean, and the trash cans were emptied ... which does not always happen at many sites, especially in the winter months. The staff was very friendly. Warm greeting ... upgraded my room to a suite ... and provided me with information about the breakfast, WiFi, etc. Multiple college athletes were also staying at the hotel ... returning from a game. Although the desk clerk did not expect any issues, he openly shared that if there was noise or other problems, to simply call him at the front desk. The breakfast was OK ... nothing too elaborate. But the seating area was warm and comfortable, due to the large fireplace, rockwork and log beams, couches, etc. Would I stay here again ... likely. It was a very nice hotel, with affordable prices, nice staff, and well-kept infrastructure.
