Went for a 2 day break we had been in 2019 it was lovely then but this time totally brilliant, we had a meal in the Brasserie and looked after by Rafal and Harry (18th birthday)food was beautiful, in the Spa which we should of used it more Duncan was so helpful, reception young lady and gentleman were very helpful and professional we couldn’t of asked for better service. The hotel is total value for money beautiful like we remembered in a perfect location we were given a free car park voucher for Bolton Abbey lots of walks around the grounds lovely in winter but must be fantastic in summer. For a lovely break the hotel has stunning lounges and one for dogs to sit with you, restaurants are very well looked after.

Visit with friends on 23rd March as a treat However most disappointing evening meal very poor Ordered lamb got two minute lamb chops also ordered steak minute portion and not cooked as requested and left Worst meal had for a long time regular visitor to other chats worth hotels which we love Made a comment but staff not interested in the restaurant or in the following morning on reception Filled in the questionnaire sent about visit and did not have the decency to reply Dreadful service Room ok location excellent What has happened to this magnificent hotel when can’t even bother to contact or deal with a complaint Breakfast was fine not exceptional

Beautiful place and set within stunning Bolton Abbey area. Staff are very engaging and helped tremendously with my vegan diet needs. Couldn't do enough! Well worth a visit for food. Didn't visit for hotel or spa experience but the whole place looked idyllic!

Excellent service, friendly and efficient staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Great food in the Brasserie. The Spa experience is wonderful too, very relaxing. I didn’t have any treatments this time but I have previously and they were fabulous.

Had many a stay here, the room was lovely. One has to get used to the endless"musak"which seems to permeate the whole place.Had supper at the brasserie,at least fish and chips are a safe option. The cheesboard consisted of 3 minute slices of different cheeses which would barely satisfy an emaciated mouse, and at £14 was quite ridiculous. The beer had a 50%mark up on pub prices. The wines on show on the walk through area are quite impressive,Angelus.Latour,Haut Brion,Margaux,in their wooden boxes.I wonder what the mark up would be on these?Enjoyed our stay, even though self service at breakfast has disappeared.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, nice little touches. We stayed a few nights and we both had a good nights sleep. We love the cosy feel of the place, with the fireplaces and the cosy furniture sit in the bar for a drink and to wind down after a long day. We ate in the brasserie one night, food was ok for the price. We also ate in the Burlington on the other night and the food was good as was the service. Breakfast was nice but our only criticism of our stay was that the service was slow and poor at breakfast. Tables were stacked with dirty pots and no one seemed to be clearing them and it took ages for someone to come and take our breakfast order, despite there being many people eating. Breakfast staff seemed to be very much on a ‘go slow’ and not really taking much notice of what needed to be attended to. Seemed to be a lot of breakfast staff on but no one actually seemed to be doing a great deal! We had to ask for our breakfast table to be set properly as serviettes, cutlery and jam missing. Thankfully we were not in a rush at breakfast as it seemed to take ages. All in all though we still love this place with the beautiful scenery and walks on the doorstep and will not stop us returning to enjoy the surroundings for a welcome break

This hotel oozes quality. It is quintessentially English in many respects, notably the picturesque setting but the entire hotel has high standards, lovely furniture & fittings and staff who are well-trained & attentive. The breakfasts are first rate, served in the conservatory and the brasserie serves excellent food in a convivial environment. So many staff one could mention but Veronica on reception, Slawek in the restaurant and Connor in the brasserie are among the outstanding staff.

There are so many things to like about the Devonshire Arms -- glorious walks, incredibly dog friendly, friendly staff, and great base to explore the Dales. But, all in all, we were disappointed with our three-night stay, and won't be returning. We thought the decor was a bit tired (we stayed in Room 37, which was lowest priced "Classic"), the service at the bar was slow and dirty tables weren't cleaned up, and the food was fine but not brilliant at the Brasserie. We didn't eat the Burlington Restaurant (except for breakfast, where the food was good but the service was slow) or use the spa. Maybe they would have added some panache to an otherwise middling visit.

Absolutely beautiful stay at the Devonshire arms hotel. Greeted and chaperoned to our room by a welcoming concierge, our room “cartoon” suite was really nice, comfy bed and lovely decor with old English charm. We dined in the Burlington and all I can say is wow ! We had the tasting menu with wines to suit each course, absolutely divine. Compliments to chefs Killian & Tom, they really know What they are doing. If you are looking for a top drawer haute cuisine fine dining experience in a beautiful Setting I highly recommend
