Wonderful accomodation and very friendly and helpful staff (Tengani and Queen was really a breath of fresh air). After travelling those gravel roads, a dip in the pool and having a braai, was just what we needed. The aircon in the rooms was so welcome. Breakfast with nice coffee set us of for our travels again. Will definitely come back again!

I highly recommend the lodge. The rooms are spacious. The food is delicious. The staff is better than in a 5 star hotel. Stunning sunsets. Just a beautiful and very unique place. So peaceful. I would choose this lodge over any other in the area.

We loved staying here. the staff were superb, very friendly and also gave us a good laugh. We loved the old vintage cars all around the area - it has a real Disney "Cars" feel to the place. One of the first things to do here is go and sample the apple pie - it is amazing In fact it is so nice I had a second helping for breakfast the following day, We really enjoyed the BBQ on the evening and I even managed a little nature photography photographing the ground squirrels. A great place to stay.

This lodge is ideal for your visit to Sossusvlei and the Namib Natural park. I drove from Windhoek airport on a rental car, driving on dirt roads and crossing a wonderful mountain pass before reaching here. This is one of the few places having a gas station, a restaurant, a bakery, a pool, a lodge, and a tire shop. I had to stay overnight as it is not possible to drive at night around here. The lodge was wonderfully well kept , neat and tidy. The room was large enough with good AC and WIFI. At night a buffet dinner and a local BBQ known as Braai is served. Dinner is not included in the room rent. The staff is wonderful and attentive. You have a good time. I had a flat tire and the shop did all it could to help me. In the morning breakfast is on the house. There is a souvenir store and the bakery is famous for its Apple Pies. The whole stop reminds me of Truck stops in the US. There are spectacular views of the nature around and you get to see a few animals around too.

The Lodge is beautiful with fabulous gardens, wonderful views and attractive spacious bedrooms. The Cafe is also the reception and again is a lovely building which served good value and tasty food. The breakfast was very good and the rooms have their own tea/coffee facilities.
Our registration on arrival was not comfortable as they did not have our payment through ******* recorded and we had to provide email receipts as evidence of payment which they questioned extensively. The service at dinner was very slow and although this was paid immediately after, we were questioned at check out regarding our ‘outstanding bill’. Service was not with a smile during our stay and we were not made to feel welcome.
However the Lodge is well worth a visit as it has been designed very well, the sunset view was wonderful and the apple pie is very good!

Fabulous accommodations in the middle of nowhere. The dinner and breakfast was excellent. A must stay for anyone passing through or staying in the area to explore. The roads getting to Solitaire were unfortunately pretty bad with lots of ruts and corrogations. Still worthwhile and highly recommend staying at the Solitaire Lodge.

We had a lovely 2 night stay here. The restaurant went out of their way to accommodate my dietary needs. It has a quaint decor and makes for a lovely stop over on the way to Sossusvlei. They have the famous bakery on site which opens early in the morning for delicious treats!

Solitaire is often just a stop on the way to Sesriem, but spending a night there was worth it. The lodge provides with large rooms with A/C and comfortable beds. The shower and toilets were in good order (don't open full throttle on the shower sometimes to have hot water, and do not hesitate to talk to reception if you don't have hot water) We were the only guests, so it made it even more special and were treated SO nicely by the people and owners. You can have a little walk behind the camp, enjoy the swimming pool, and take nice pictures around.
