AI Summary
An AI-summarised snapshot of real guest reviews
The property features a great pool, gym, Jacuzzi, sauna, smart TV, and strong Wi-Fi, along with friendly staff and a delightful breakfast with local produce. However, guests find it overpriced for the quality offered. It is situated near St Just with scenic walks and views.

We came for a round of 18 today, the course has some great views but most of the greens were temporary and made it a real pain to putt on, fairways looked like they hadn’t been cut for a while and were covered in daisy’s making it a pain to find your ball, would probably be much better in summer but we’re nearly in may and would’ve expected better conditions, especially comparing other courses around.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Keenan checked us in and was very friendly and helpful. Tracey was excellent and very motivated and friendly. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Steve and Andrew were good as well. All staff are 10/10. The owner of the club should be very proud to have these lovely people. The room type we booked was on level one and we didn’t really liked it, felt claustrophobic. Keenan was kind enough to change our room on the ground floor. We stayed in Sennen. Room itself was good size for 2 nights but if you have a child it will be too tight. Bathroom was huge with shower. They provide toilet paper, shower gel and conditioner, they have towel heater in the bathroom. They provide towels, kettle and some sachets of tea and milk. Rest of the toiletries/ amenities you need to carry with you. Bed mattress was too soft not ideal for people like us with back problem. They have swimming pool, hot tub, restaurant and bar. Plenty of parking. They do sell some clothing like jackets, T-shirts etc… Food menu is changed daily. Head chef is really doing a great job in managing his/ her kitchen. We had dinner on the first night and the food was really fresh and tasty. We enjoyed beer from the bar. They do have 3 tables in the restaurant that has sea view. Breakfast: basic breakfast is served. I will score 6/10 for the selection of breakfast and quality. Coffee was good though. Value for money: I would score 6/10. Beautiful views around the club but no views from the rooms. No lifts and some metal stairs to access the rooms on level one. If you have mobility issue please always call them and double check if they can accommodate you on the ground floor. Around the club: There are no pubs, shops or restaurants near the club. The main road is very narrow to reach the club but that’s very common in Cornwall. The reason why score 3 star is because of the cleanliness and noise. Our bathroom was not cleaned properly when we checked in. Toilet was really dirty with urine stains and hair. Shower cubicle had moulds all over, shower head holder was broken so it’s difficult to take shower. Also on our first night we could sleep properly due to the loud noise throughout the night probably from the wind. There are no curtains on the window and instead blinds were used which also made lots of noise during the night.

We stayed one night in the rooms across the courtyard from the club. The rooms were well equipped and nicely furnished . The hotel has stunning views and a beautiful walk to cape Cornwall. We had lovely food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The pool and gym were a great addition and really added to the stay.

I quite often use the pool at Cape Cornwall Club for a weekly swim session, I have turned up today only to find the pool closed with no prior communication of this. I spoke with staff in passing who informed me that this was closed but she did not know the reason behind this, it would of been nice to of received a phone call to inform us of this being closed rather than having a wasted trip like we have had today. This is the second occasion this has happened and we also received no communication to inform us of the pool being closed the first time this happened. After checking their Facebook page it has became apparent that a status was posted to their page to update people that the pool is closed, I do not use Facebook so I had not seen this which resulted in us turning up only to be disappointed by a closed pool. It would be a good idea for Cape Cornwall Club to contact the people who have booked a swim session to let them know that their session is cancelled to save disappointment like we have had twice now..

Such a shame that this once beautiful hotel has been terribly neglected. We have stayed here many times, however this visit shocked us. Forget about building 7 new rooms when you not bothered maintaining the ones you already have. The room needs a good paint, another beside table and the toilet was absolutely disgusting... at £164 per night this is unacceptable! I should be able to use the toilet in my room and I shouldn't have to put the kettle on the floor as there is no plug socket on the windowsill where it sits, nor a bedside table? The breakfast was OK. I think the name change is appropriate, this is a club definitely not the establishment it once was.

We (Wife, 17yr boy, 11yr girl and I) attend a wedding here and stayed 2 nights (Tuesday, Wednesday) and the only reason I didn’t give it a 1 was because of the staff who tried really hard (other than the miserable man who booked us out on Thursday morning he needs to go on a course in public relations). I paid nearly £500 for 2 nights here, got to the room it had a double bed nothing for the kids to sleep on, late in the night they decided to put 2 small fold out camp beds which just about accommodated my 11yr old and my 17yr old looked like something from a cartoon with his legs hanging over the edge, plus they took up all the room so we had to play the maze game to get to the bathroom. The windows had cobwebs, the bathroom dirt around the the toilet edge and floor (we cleaned all this ourselves). The starters came out in drips and drabs and we waited over 40 mins for our main courses which where wrong even though we pre ordered and while we waited there was no bread or water on the tables, the steak burger was a very small beef burger and the chicken burger looked like something from Coops freezer range, but the pork chop did looked and tasted OK. This place is more than likely OK if you came here’s as a couple but for a party I would avoid it, if It wasn’t for the fact it was a wedding I was attending I would have complained and if nothing was done I would have left without paying and found somewhere else for nearly £500 for 2 nights.

Booked two superior rooms via *********** six months before at a price of £205 per room. There were two couples on arrival the entrance to the car park was not easy to see, the car park itself is a bit of a building site. The entrance to the Cape Cornwall club was small, dirty and a bit chaotic as it seems to be the entry for the golf club too. I know they now warn on their website of this chaos as they are building new rooms, but they didn’t have this warning at the time we booked, so it was a shock to us. The casually dressed young man on reception was very nice but seemed a bit confused about the booking. Two other CCC people were sort of helping but disappearing in and out with a crying baby in their arms. We paid for the rooms and then told there was only one superior room not two. We showed our booking confirmation, but it seems they had been a mistake down the line. The staff were very nice and apologised and agreed to refund our money. We decided not to stay after all as we were generally disappointed and concerned about the dirtiness and lack of organisation, especially for the price of £205 per room. We might try again at some point in the future, and as we didn’t stay cannot comment on the rooms or the restaurant.

My wife and I planned a trip of Cornwall, stopping in a number of places, with our first stop being here. Perfect location a short walk from the small town of St Just. Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Accommodation was spacious and clean, and the food there was nice. Picturesque views and location, would highly recommend and would definitely come again.

There seem to be several TA sites for Cape Cornwall Golf Club. I am reporting on the dinner we enjoyed. With a great chef and learning hospitality crew we enjoyed a great dinner and chose to sit on the terrace with its fantastic view. The sole was perfect. The scallops and soup delicious. Recommended.
