2-Star Hotels in Tainan

Amazing place! Central, clean and for a good price. I was practically alone there on a weekday -- I even decided to stay an extra night. Coffee and laundry for free (only for foreigners). The only downside was that the mattress was a bit deformed and bent to one side.

Important: Please bring ear plugs! the sound from street traffic is kind of echoey and loud. I went to buy some after my first night. Location is hard to beat. I got to try quite a few good eateries just by staying here. And there are street markets of different types within short walking distance. I was staying in a room on 2nd level and using the shared bathroom, but it looked like i was the the only one using it. Everything is clean and spotless, as if the place is very new. The hot/cold water dispenser at ground level is very useful. More hooks/hangers in the room for hanging clothes would be nice. The light feature above the bed and the full-length glass windows that allow natural light are very aesthetically pleasing. What was perhaps unusual and a bit unnerving - a first for me - was that i didn't see ANY person around the whole of my 4-day stay. I arrived late and had to do a self check-in on the first day so that was to be expected, but on subsequent days no staff were at reception, nor did i see any guests (though i could faintly hear them in their rooms on certain days). Is this a low season thing? Having said that, i found the self-check in and check-out is quite convenient and if you have connected with them over Whatsapp, they send clear instructions beforehand. They will also answer any questions over Whataspp, so i guess it's like a virtual receptionist?

I had a truly wonderful stay at here. The location couldn’t be better—right across from Tainan Park, it’s peaceful yet still within walking distance to the train station and local eateries. The atmosphere of the inn feels both cozy and refreshing, surrounded by greenery that makes you forget you’re in the middle of the city. The room was spotless and thoughtfully designed, with natural light, soft bedding, and just the right touch of simplicity. Every detail showed the owner’s care—from the locally roasted coffee in the common area to the warm welcome when I arrived. I especially loved the small garden space where you can relax with a cup of tea in the afternoon. What stood out most was the hospitality. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready with local travel tips and food recommendations. Their genuine kindness made me feel like I was visiting an old friend rather than staying at a hotel. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Tainan. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates comfort, warmth, and a touch of nature in the heart of the city.

This guesthouse is a bit far from the station, but it's just a few minutes' walk from Shennong Street. Three adorable cats will greet you upon arrival. The gray striped cat, in particular, is very friendly and provides a comforting presence. The entrance and rooms have password-protected automatic locks. Eating in the rooms is prohibited; you can eat in the common area on the first floor. There's a coffee maker in the common area on the first floor, and you can enjoy coffee freely. It's a great place to relax and is highly recommended.

This location is super convenient for getting to all the attractions. You can take direct transportation to Anping Fort, Shennong Street, Chihkan Tower, and more. Lin Department Store is just a short walk away, literally a few dozen meters. The hostel itself is beautiful inside, very quiet at night, and the rooms are spacious. It offers excellent value for money!

The hotel and room are very nice, in a very good position and has a very good price. The problem is the communication with the staff. I tried to contact a day in advance on WhatsApp (they asked me to add them on WhatsApp when I booked, and at the beginning, a few weeks ago, they answered) to know when I could bring my luggage there but I got no answer. Later that day and next morning I tried again with the same result. I also asked a friend in Taiwan to call them on this number but no answer. Then I decided to go to the hotel, I found another phone number and another WhatsApp but unfortunately I got no answer again. Luckily another client let me enter with the code to bring my luggage. I finally got an answer 4 hours later I left the hotel. That's a pity, I don't know what happened. Hope I only was very unlucky that day.

My booking consisted of 2 double beds however due to a mismatch of details from trip, upon contacting the homestay, they notified that they only provide 1 double bed for every room. Other than that mishap, the stay was pleasant enough. Be prepared for the steep steps of Tainan. Other issues with the homestay was that there were no toothbrush/toothpaste provided, no proper bathroom mat (it was the spongy type), no proper heating in the room. The entrance was a bit hard to find especially when it gets dark. They provided 2 waterbottles for us and subsequent refills were obtained from the dispenser in the main area on Level 1. There is a public fridge and toilet in the main area too. Closeby amenities include street food alleyway with some clothes shops, 7/11, Watsons. Location was a bus ride away from Tainan Metro so relatively convenient! But .taxi would be even better.

The accommodation is practical, essential, and clean. It's quite a unique experience that the entrance is inside a Family Mart; you go down the stairs and you're right in the convenience store, haha, definitely very convenient. On the other hand, its proximity to the station might be an issue for some – lots of people, constant coming and going, and noisy. The property offers 24/7 self-service coffee/tea packets. You can even make your own breakfast with bread, butter/jam/chocolate, etc. The idea of small events organized in the common room is a nice touch. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel location is so good. The hostel front desk people are really nice and kind. They have common cozy place to sit. The only problem is you're seperated by curtain from bed to bed and also the person next to me snored all day and I couldn't sleep😭😭😭 i used noise cancelation but my battery died 😭 anyways...also the bathroom are really small🥲 but can be manageable. So Overall its okay and worth the price.

Jiahong Brigade Advantages In the urban area of Xuejia, transportation is very convenient. For the price of old hostel, it is close to the people for consecutive holidays. Average 1 000 There is a beautiful picture in the toilet. The air-conditioning is very powerful Disadvantages No wifi, no TV, hot water to wait But 1,000 You get what you pay for~~ Don't compare big restaurants to this
