2-Star Hotels in Rome

Fantastic stay at Villa Aurora rooms whilst I was in Rome. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-furnished. Fully functional air conditioning (rather than those temperamental units in other places) really was a joy to come back to during the heat of a Rome summer. But so far, I've just commented on some features of the room, rather than my experience here. What will endure in my memory as I look back was the warm, classically no-nonsense Italian hospitality I had from Donatella. Throughout my time here, she made sure I was well looked after with room cleaning, bottled water, towels etc. But I most appreciate her assistance in terms of local knowledge. Local knowledge such as a good seafood restaurant , ”Trattoria del pesce” just down the road (which happens to also be in the Michelin guide); such as to not miss out on the Baths of Caracalla; and perhaps more trivially, but arguably also essential, where to do my laundry! Thank you so much for making my stay here such a pleasure Donatella, and for adding both a new Italian word and outlook to my vocabulary - ”tranquilo”.

overall, my experience was cool, a bit noisy, but it always depends on the people who are sharing room with you. The only problem was that the bed creaked loudly, and I could feel every movement of the person above me. I liked the hostel vibes; you can really find a travel buddy if the circumstances are right.

The environment is very good! Whether it is the surrounding or indoor! And the staff are very nice! And it is very comfortable and the space is large!

I loved the common areas they have for travellers to relax. Not to mention the fully equipped kitchen and also the occasional free dinner prepared by the staff. Rooms were spacious and adopted the capsule/nest style where you can have ultimate privacy at night. Lockers were big enough to fit my 40L bag and no additional locks needed for the locker. Although the beds are encapsulated, however it is not hot or stuffy at night as I still felt cold from the AC. Ensuite bathroom is decent and clean for everyone’s use.

I really enjoyed my 5-night stay here! The location was one of the biggest plus points, with Roma Trastevere station just a 5–7 minute walk away, making it really easy to get around. The villa itself was so pretty, well kept and probably one of the cleanest places I’ve stayed in. The check-in and check-out process was also very smooth and hassle free. One thing to note for future guests is that the property is outside the main historic centre and outside the Aurelian Walls, in a quieter residential area. So if you plan to use taxis to get to and from the main tourist attractions, the fares can be a little higher. However, with the nearby train station, tram and bus connections, we found it quite easy to get around without relying on taxis all the time. We didn’t really see any front desk staff around during our stay, but the host was very easy to reach via WhatsApp and was always helpful whenever we had any questions. For the price I paid, I’m really happy to have found this little hidden gem in Rome. I would definitely recommend it and would happily stay here again!

Overall I had a very nice stay at the hotel. The room was clean, not very big, but enough for one person. I would have given the hotel 5 strars, but what I really didn't like was that at the check in, they try to make you pay 5 euros extra for the AC. This was not clear when I booked the room and I find this very cheap and not fair. Especially considering that I visited during a heatwave. Moreover, please note that the hotel has no lift and the reception is located on the first floor. So be ready to climb stairs with your luggage.

We had a wonderful stay at this resort. The cleanliness was outstanding, and everything was well-maintained throughout our visit. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help, making the service truly excellent. The amenities were also excellent and contributed to a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The only downside was the location, as it was quite far from the city center. Reaching the main attractions required changing buses and metro lines several times, which was inconvenient and time-consuming. It would be very helpful if the property could offer a shuttle service for guests, even as a paid option, to make transportation easier and more convenient. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this property, especially for couples looking for a clean, relaxing, and well-equipped place to stay. Many thanks to all wonderful staffs

We booked the economy room for a 2 nights. If you're looking for just somewhere to sleep and prioritise location, this is it. It's a convenient 10 min walk to the colosseum. The room is bare basic, tiny bathroom though clean enough, kitted with AC. BE AWARE that check-in ends at 9pm. We arrived later than planned due to airport queues, I was in touch with the host the entire time. They arranged for someone to meet us, with a 20EUR fee. However we ended up waiting for 2 hours with no reply from the host, we were at the point of giving up until they finally responded, which was past midnight.

The location is fantastic. It's close to the train station, the Colosseum, and the Trevi Fountain (about 1.5-2 kilometers on foot). There are also plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. However, there's almost never anyone at the reception. The room is basic, and the furniture has seen better days :))) but on the plus side, the bedding is clean, there's a set of towels for each guest, and a mini-fridge in the room.
