"Overall, it was a good stay, including the location and the staff's service. However, the hot water pressure in the shower was unstable; sometimes no hot water came out at all, or it took an unusually long time for the hot water to start flowing. Because of this, I had to keep a tiny trickle of hot water running throughout my shower, which was a bit of a hassle to manage."

Hotel near Spagna,Rome
“Scalinata di Spagna” is a charming 3-star Hotel in downtown Rome, located inside an age-old building built in 1800, on the ruins of the buttresses of a Roman villa. The Hotel’s façade is protected by the Belle Arti. “Scalinata di Spagna” is a Hotel in the heart of Rome which enjoys a fabulous location. It‘s located on top of the Spanish Steps, Piazza Trinita dei Monti, one of the most beautiful places of the capital. From many of the rooms you can enjoy a view of Rome's rooftops and domes. The location and the comforts offered by this three-star Hotel make the "Scalinata di Spagna" the best choice for an unforgettable stay. The hotel occupies five floors of a building, built in 1800, on the ruins of the buttresses of a Roman villa, starting from Piazza Mignanelli up to Piazza Trinità dei Monti. It is distributed on two different scales. The part furnished in classic style, with parquet and fabrics on the walls with a refined taste, occupies the third and fourth floors of the lower staircase, where the reception and the roof garden for breakfast are located. The part furnished in a modern style, with parquet and painting on the walls, occupies the second and third floors of the upper staircase, where the rooms with full views are located. Two small apartments, one in deco style and one in modern and panoramic style and an annex, located in Piazza di Spagna, in modern style, with wengé parquet and panoramic balconies overlooking the square of the same name, complete the offer of our hotel. Rooms are equipped with an en-suite bathroom, with shower or tub/shower and hairdryer and all comforts: air conditioning, HD LED TV with SKY satellite channels, free wi-fi, free water in the minibar, telephone, electric personal safe.

"Room Decor: Typical Rome hotel style. The room isn't actually in the main building (confirm this when booking); it's in a neighboring residential building. It's relatively spacious, with a high window that offers little to no view outside, only good for ventilation. Soundproofing is terrible; at night, you can clearly hear conversations, hairdryers, and toilet flushing from next door. Bedding and Towels: Normal, comfortable, and clean. Location: While advertised as being in Plaza de España, it's actually on a hill. You need to take an elevator from the metro exit to the street above. The hotel didn't email us directions beforehand, causing me to get lost following Google Maps. I ended up carrying a large suitcase up about four flights of stairs at night. When I called the hotel, the front desk said there was only one person available and they couldn't come to meet me. Although they apologized afterward, it was still a huge inconvenience. I can't believe this is the kind of service you get for 2000 euros. Recommendation: Definitely take a taxi to the hotel. There's about a four-story difference between the ground-level plaza and the street above Plaza de España. Although there's an elevator from the metro exit, you might not be able to find it without knowing the route, and the hotel didn't inform me beforehand. It's worth noting that the elevator closes late at night. I stayed two nights, and both times I had to climb a long flight of stairs to get back to the hotel because the elevator was closed. If you don't mind climbing stairs, you can ignore this."

GGuest UserI recently enjoyed one of my best vacations ever at Piazza di Spagna 9 Luxury Suites in Rome. From the moment I booked, the team reached out via WhatsApp to offer help with transfers or tours — thoughtful and attentive without being pushy. I immediately felt like a valued guest. The suites sit on the third floor of a charming historic building right next to the Spanish Steps. Despite the unbeatable location, it’s remarkably quiet and relaxing. The concierge service is top-notch — when I was running late for my Pantheon visit, staff quickly arranged to collect my luggage so my husband and I could head out stress-free. Their restaurant recommendations were another highlight. We tried four places from their curated list, each superb and fairly priced, letting us experience authentic local dining away from tourist traps. The team even handled all our reservations. The reception area feels more like an art gallery, with stylish décor and vibrant paintings. Guests can relax in the cozy living or dining areas — a lovely touch. Our suite faced the piazza and was filled with natural light, offering a perfect view of visitors strolling by the Spanish Steps. Being steps away from Via Condotti’s luxury boutiques adds to the convenience. Special thanks to Franco, the owner, for his wonderful restaurant suggestions, and to Gianmarco whose friendly help made our stay extra smooth. The genuine hospitality and personal attention here truly stand out. It’s not just about luxury — it’s about feeling welcome and cared for. I’ll definitely stay at Piazza di Spagna 9 again and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Rome. Simply top rated — the best!

CCJulyaI didn’t expect to find something so gentle in the middle of Rome. Camplus Hotel Roma Centro felt less like a hotel and more like a quiet chapter that life offered me in between the noise of travel and the rhythm of work. Every morning began with sunlight slipping through the curtains, the sound of the city slowly waking up, and the smell of espresso drifting from downstairs. There was something grounding about it, as if the city whispered, take your time, you are exactly where you need to be. The people at the hotel felt like familiar souls. They greeted me with warmth, remembered the little things, and made sure I never felt like just another guest. That kind of kindness stays with you.

GGuest UserThe Unbeatable Gateway: Why This Hotel is My New Travel Holy Grail Just stumbled upon a hotel so perfectly positioned, it feels like discovering a secret cheat code for seamless travel. Forget everything you know about compromise – this place delivers *everything* without the premium price tag. Its location isn't just good; it’s **utterly transformative** for any traveler, especially weary souls like me arriving from long-haul flights. **The Transport Trifecta: Your Effortless Escape Hatch** Stepping out the lobby door feels like holding a master key to the city. Directly downstairs? **Airport buses**! No frantic taxi hunts or confusing shuttle transfers. After a 14-hour journey, seeing that bus stop literally steps away, offering a smooth, affordable ride back to the terminals, was pure bliss. It’s the kind of stress-eraser you only appreciate after dragging luggage across multiple blocks elsewhere. But it gets better. A stone's throw away lies the **central train station**. Not some distant suburban outpost, but the genuine hub connecting you to *every* district, landmark, and hidden gem. Regional day trips? Easy. Exploring quirky neighborhoods? Done. Late-night returns? No problem. The station's comprehensive network meant I could spontaneously chase a sunset view across town or visit a famed museum district without a single transport worry. Freedom, truly unlocked. **The Heartbeat of the City: Steps, Not Strides** Here’s the magic dust: **walkability**. Forget ”close to the center” meaning a 20-minute trek or an expensive Uber. The vibrant city core – pulsating with main squares, iconic cafes, bustling markets, and those irresistible little boutiques – is a mere **10-15 minute stroll** away. I timed it! Wandering home through charming, illuminated streets after dinner, gelato in hand, soaking in the atmosphere without racing for transport… that’s the authentic travel experience we crave. You’re *in* the city, not just near it. **Beyond Logistics: The Pulse of Convenience** The immediate neighborhood isn’t just a transit zone; it’s alive! Need a midnight snack? Corner store open late. Craving authentic local breakfast? Charming bakery two doors down. Forgot your adaptor? Electronics shop around the corner. Pharmacies, casual eateries, coffee spots – it’s all there, woven into the fabric outside your door, making daily needs effortless and adding genuine local flavor. **The Jaw-Dropper: Value That Feels Like a Steal** Given this prime location and unparalleled connectivity, you’d expect a premium price, right? Prepare for a shock. The rates are **remarkably affordable**. It’s not just ”budget-friendly”; it’s **outrageous value**. I kept double-checking, convinced there must be a catch. Clean, comfortable room, essential amenities, friendly staff, *and* this location? For this price? It feels less like paying for a hotel and more like investing in a seamless, enriching travel experience. **The Verdict: Don't Hesitate, Just Book** Honestly? This hotel isn't just a place to sleep; it's the ultimate **strategic basecamp** that elevates your entire trip. The unbeatable combo of instant airport access, total city-wide rail connectivity, effortless walkability to the core, vibrant local amenities, *and* genuine affordability is simply unmatched. It removes friction, saves precious time and money, and lets you focus purely on experiencing the destination. After raving about it to fellow travelers at breakfast, I watched them immediately pull out their phones to check availability. It’s that obvious. This isn't just *a* good option; **it’s the smartest choice you can make**. Book it before everyone else discovers this golden spot – you’ll thank yourself from the moment you step off the plane until your final, effortless journey back to the airport. An absolute traveler's triumph!

GGuest UserFor those whose main purpose is to visit the Vatican, this is probably the best hotel in this price range. However, by coincidence, it took a while for the hot water to come out of the shower, so that could be an area for improvement. However, even with that in mind, I would highly recommend this hotel to those who want to enjoy a long stay in the Vatican.

PPhillipsBenjaminWe stayed here for four nights in June of 2025. The location of the hotel is generally good for getting to some of the more noteworthy site (Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc.). There's a metro station around 8 minutes walk away, which opens up most of the rest of the city pretty well. We walked from here to the Vatican, which took around 35 minutes, but would be less than half that by cab. The surrounding area is great for clothing shops, but the food we found nearby was mostly so-so, and frequently over-priced tourist fare, though I'm sure if you walk a little farther from the hotel you can find some good options. The room itself was booked for a family of four, and was comfortable. The bathroom and shower had good water pressure, and the AC worked just fine. Some of the sheets were not quite clean, but we just didn't use the one we found slightly dirty. The beds were comfortable and a good size. The room and hotel have little to no facilities, so you're really just paying for room and the location. The exterior entrance is not well marked, and we actually walked past it on the street several times. If you're thinking of booking here, I'd recommend just looking for the GAP store which is directly across the street, much easier to find. Our interactions with the hotel staff were limited. We received a number of automated messages, some of which were contradictory, or had out of date information. After booking and paying for the room (a non-refundable booking) we were told there was an extra ”city tax” not included which would need to be paid before checking in which amounted to around an extra $90 or so, and the offered price of an airport transfer service went up as soon as we requested it (from 85 euros to 95). The hotel arranged the transfer service for us, but the driver left the airport before we could get out of the passport control due to another booking. The driver service showed up at the hotel at the time the flight was supposed to arrive, even though the flight was late, and you'd expect them to know that going through passport control takes easily an hour, so this seems to be quite poor planning on behalf of either the hotel or the service. We ended up taking a taxi from the airport which was also slightly over half the price of the transfer service, so I'd recommend skipping their service, it seems like a rip-off. Taxis from the airport to the city center seem to be subsidized by the government, and were a fixed price of 55 euros (for a normal size car big enough for 4 people) at the time we visited. The train from the airport is also not a bad idea if you're comfortable using the metro, as the train station is just 3-4 metro stops from the nearest metro station to the hotel (Spagna). Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but felt like we mostly paid for the location.

GGuest UserThe room was spotless, and it was clear it had been recently refurbished, offering great value for the price. However, the thin walls were a major drawback, as every sound from neighbouring rooms was audible, causing frequent disturbances throughout the night. Additionally, on the last day, there was no cold water, making it impossible to shower. When we reported this to the receptionist, they unhelpfully suggested we should have complained the day before, despite the issue only arising that mornig — we cannot predict the future lol Despite of this, I would probably stay again as it is good value for money.

AAnonymous UserTraveling to Rome, I unexpectedly booked this Ibis, which is exceptionally good value. It is less than a kilometer walk from the subway. The hotel is next to a quiet community on a high ground. It is very quiet, and people are running in the early morning. The transportation is convenient, and the nearby bus and light rail are good to go everywhere. The key is that the breakfast is particularly rich. There is a Chinese restaurant opened by Wenzhou people next to the subway station. Occasionally, you can adjust your stomach. It is not expensive and quite authentic. I went out to play in Pompeii for a day, and the luggage was stored in the hotel. The service was also very good. It will still be my first choice next time I come.
