2-Star Hotels in Shimoda

I definitely recommend! A beautiful, cozy place in the very center of Simoda - next to both the train station and the coastline. It is a spacious large and beautiful house with its own garden and access to the onsen. Thank you to the wonderful hosts for hospitality and kindness!

This ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) is run by an elderly couple. It felt like staying at a relative's house, full of warmth. The building is a bit old, but it's kept impeccably clean, so we felt completely at ease. By chance, there was a cancellation when we stayed, so we literally had the whole place to ourselves (lol). The food was truly delicious. Each dish was prepared with such care, and meal times were pure bliss. Even for breakfast, we had turban shell mixed rice. They thought of everything; since the portions were large, they even provided plastic wrap for us to take leftovers if we couldn't finish it all. The variety and freshness of the fruit served at breakfast were incredible; I wondered how many different kinds there were! It was a truly impressive stay. When we left, they gave us a processed photo taken during our meal and homemade lotion prepared by the wife as gifts. This is a wonderful ryokan that I would confidently recommend to everyone, but since the couple is elderly and can't overexert themselves, guests should try to make things easier for them, perhaps by tidying up after themselves. I definitely want to visit again someday.

It was close to both the train station and the sea, and we were able to spend a wonderful time surrounded by nature. However, I was a little bothered that the rooms with open-air baths did not have showers inside.

The front desk is not very easy to find, but the hotel window is the white beach, the sea view is great. The room is also very large, clean and hygienic is the standard accommodation in Japan. It is troublesome to take the bus to the downtown area of Shimada, but it is very suitable for people who drive by car or simply watch the sea. The hotel itself is also a surf club. It is estimated that the main customer group is also a surfer. In short, a good experience.

Nice hotel, close to the sea

I can say that the traffic in the emergency field is very, very unchanged. The bus has time constraints. I don’t look at the time. You probably will not have food to eat. There is no car to sit. The homestay is very small. You must check in at five o’clock. There are no shops around. It’s not convenient at all. Just a small beach on the side. On the same day, I met a local holiday. Except for the station shop, other shops did not open. As a result, there was no lunch in the afternoon. The landlord was no one after ten o'clock. It was not there at eleven o'clock in the morning. Everything was self-service. Several people stayed. Except for the day of arrival, the weather was good and the sea was blue. It gave a little comfort. The weather was bad the next day, and the research was very general. It is suitable for self-driving or chartered tours.
