Our first stop for my birthday trip was the Kimpton Lingshui. I had emailed them in advance to let them know it was my birthday on the day of check-in, so the hotel specially arranged glass painting and a birthday cake (which was delicious!).
The hotel proactively contacted us the day before check-in (in fact, they had contacted us several times between booking and check-in, but my Unicom service blocked all the calls 🥲). Both the public areas and the room's hardware and soft furnishings were incredibly stunning, with amazing attention to detail. The abundance of non-standardized furniture really appealed to me; it felt more like a seaside art gallery.
We stayed for two nights, and the breakfast was semi-buffet style. The menu changed daily, which was a nice touch. While a few dishes were just average, the variety was quite rich, which made up for it.
The hotel has its own e-sports center, designed in a very interesting way, especially the hidden entrance to the e-sports center! Playing e-sports at a resort hotel is a rare and unique experience, I loved it!
The guest room was equipped with a Marshall speaker, Maison 21G toiletries, and a Dyson hairdryer, and even a yoga mat 🤣. The bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. I didn't make any requests about the room view beforehand, but we ended up getting a sea-view room like a blind box reveal! 🥳 This was truly healing for both of us, as I had suddenly fallen ill before coming to Lingshui and couldn't participate in most of the hotel activities.
The hotel seems to have an American style as its main theme; you often see staff zipping around on balance bikes delivering things, which is quite interesting! 😆
I want to give a special shout-out to our butler, Sarah ♥️♥️♥️. She was incredibly thoughtful and responsive, always fulfilling our requests with very fast reply speeds and highly efficient problem-solving! On our last night, I went to the e-sports center and left behind a hairpin (I didn't even realize it myself). When I returned to the room, I found Sarah had messaged me about it. It was already late and past her working hours, but she was still working overtime to follow up on this matter, which made me feel a bit embarrassed 🥹.
Due to time constraints, I had to leave for our next destination before I could meet little Seven 😢😢. This stay experience definitely gets a big thumbs up! I'll be back for a second visit!

Clearwater Bay is one of the few clean and pristine beaches near Sanya these days, and we once again chose the Raffles Hotel. Before we even checked in, the hotel arranged for our butler, Wendy, to contact us. Her ”welcome home” greeting immediately made us feel at ease. Although the hotel was fully booked this time and we didn't get an upgrade, the room size was ample and the layout sensible. Despite its age, the quality of the furnishings was good, and details like the air conditioning and blackout curtains were well-thought-out. The breakfast quality was excellent, standing out among Sanya's top luxury resorts. The beach was flat and clean, free from bothersome hawkers, and the water was crystal clear, giving it a 'glassy sea' appearance that far surpasses Haitang Bay. The hotel's photography team is professional and highly recommended. Furthermore, all drinking water has been switched to Elix, showing their commitment to environmental protection, even at a cost. We hope to see continuous improvements on our next visit.

Guest UserThe room offers a full sea view; you can stand on the balcony and look straight out at the ocean. The room was very clean, and they even provided children's toiletries and slippers, plus there's a kids' club. The hotel beach is also excellent, with fine sand that felt even better than Yalong Bay's, though the waves were strong, so swimming wasn't really an option. The hotel's pool area is great, with three pools in total, so there's plenty of space even when it's crowded. Breakfast was good; you wouldn't get tired of it even after three days. The 'mermaid' at the front desk was incredibly helpful and responsive to all requests. Overall, this is the best value-for-money hotel in Tufu Bay.

Shuishoupapashui 1012The top-tier hotels in Hainan live up to their reputation, and Capella certainly didn't disappoint.
Capella is located in Tufu Bay, which is quieter compared to Sanya's Haitang Bay and Lingshui's Qingshui Bay.
The hotel has a limited number of rooms, but the decor exudes an 'old money' aesthetic – very upscale. The greenery is exceptional, making it easy to walk anywhere within the hotel, though there's also a shuttle service. Strolling around after a meal is quite pleasant. The entire hotel features numerous circular ponds and lush lawns, offering picturesque views at every turn, perfect for photos. Compared to other luxury hotels nearby, Capella has fewer people doing photoshoots, making it relatively peaceful and truly relaxing.
It's an ideal place to spend a few days simply unwinding. Lounging in the lobby and gazing at the circular skylight is also very comfortable.
The bedding is excellent; the duvet and sheets are incredibly soft and skin-friendly, providing great comfort. The towels are gray, which feels more sophisticated than pure white.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the hotel's fitness facilities. I tried the large pool by the beach, the smaller pool at the spa center, and the hard tennis court. The gym is spacious and well-equipped with machines, dumbbells, and a yoga room. Overall, it's excellent. The tennis court even had iced towels and cold water prepared in advance, which was a thoughtful touch.
I also visited the spa center, and the ambiance, aromatherapy, and massage techniques were all first-rate.
The hotel's Thai and Chinese restaurants are both distinctive. The Chinese restaurant was particularly considerate, offering half-portions for solo diners, which was very thoughtful.
Finally, I must extend a special thanks to our butler, Linda. She was attentive and enthusiastic in introducing the hotel, provided welcome fruits and coconuts, prepared Qingbuliang (a traditional cooling dessert) for me after my workout, and was incredibly responsive to all my requests. She was truly outstanding.

Guest UserI was pleasantly surprised to find such a great value room during the summer holiday. The room was spacious and had a balcony. The front desk staff were very friendly and even provided complimentary breakfast. The swimming pool, while not huge, was perfectly adequate for the kids to have fun. The breakfast selection was rich and varied. It's also not too far from nearby attractions. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

Guest UserThis hotel is located in Lingshui Clear Water Bay, and the location is excellent; it's right across the road from the beach. The hotel is very large, and the rooms are spacious too. I'd like to thank the front desk for upgrading my room type, which now offers a view of the large swimming pool. The hotel boasts a super-sized swimming pool, a kids' club, a gym, and more. My kids absolutely loved it; they swam to their hearts' content and had a fantastic time. The breakfast was also very rich and diverse, featuring local specialties like Hainan noodles and Lingshui sour noodles. It's highly recommended, and I'll definitely be back to stay again!

Comfortable, relaxing, and no crowds. It is a Marriott, after all, and while it's an older property, there are no major issues. Our room opened right onto the pool, and then beyond that, the beach. It was uncrowded, so no need to fight for sun loungers! For the kids, it was beach then pool, pool then beach... as long as they were in the ocean. For the adults, as long as there weren't too many people blocking my view, haha. Breakfast and dinner were good too, and the staff were friendly – high marks all around. A special shout-out to He Cui, who helped us with everything before and after our meals, with such a great attitude!

The hotel boasts an excellent location, right by the beach, with just a few minutes' walk to the sand. The front desk and room service staff were incredibly warm and attentive. We were even given a complimentary upgrade to a room with a large balcony and a great sea view! Although some of the facilities are a bit dated, the overall value for money is high. The hotel breakfast offers a wide variety of options, catering to different tastes.

Posted on Jul 19, 2026|Haiqu Twin Room with Sea-View Balcony
TiantongcuiI specifically chose to stay at the Ocean View Pavilion, and its biggest draw is the incredible convenience for snorkeling. The balcony opens right onto the sea, allowing you to hop in and swim with the fish whenever you like. This immersive near-shore snorkeling experience is truly unique. The only minor downside is that the room can be a bit humid; after all, facing the ocean means high humidity is an unavoidable issue for seaside rooms. Thankfully, the hotel thoughtfully provides a dehumidifier, which effectively alleviates any discomfort caused by the dampness. Overall, the pros far outweigh the cons. If you're looking for an immersive, close-to-the-ocean experience, this place is absolutely perfect. The unique near-shore access is something a standard sea-view room simply can't compare to.

This is a great hotel. Our sea-view room offered stunning ocean views right from the window. The breakfast was decent. The large bed room is perfect for a family with two adults and one child. It's incredibly convenient to take the kids to the beach for swimming and digging in the sand, as it's practically right there. The hotel's off-season prices are reasonable, making it a good choice for those looking to travel during non-peak times.
