"This hotel is absolutely amazing! The location is super convenient, right next to the subway. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Our housekeeper, Xiaoying, was also incredibly friendly. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Suzhou! The value for money is incredible! Staying in a hotel like this is so worth it! The breakfast was delicious and varied, the bathroom had great water pressure, and the WiFi was fast. The bedding was excellent quality, and I slept soundly!"

"On this trip to Suzhou, I stayed at the B&B in the front hall and back yard, and the service was truly home-away-from-home. The B&B is located in a quiet area amidst the bustle of Pingjiang Road, and the elegant courtyard makes it a must-see destination. The Pingjiang Road Cultural Festival is just a few minutes away. The staff were particularly welcoming, helping with luggage upon arrival. Although there's no elevator, their proactive service more than made up for the lack of an elevator. Each room has an electricity card, and the kettle is temperature-controlled. The B&B also offers a drying service, and clothes can be dried in the courtyard. The beautiful host even provided a carefully designed three-day itinerary, covering food, entertainment, and fun, with a well-thought-out itinerary. MM224225****It's absolutely no surprise this B&B has been crowned the most beautiful in Zhouzhuang Ancient Town for several years running! The owner's design perfectly blends ancient charm with modern comfort; every single corner is a picturesque delight, offering endless photo opportunities. What truly touched my heart was the proprietress's exceptional kindness. She welcomed us with refreshing watermelon and snacks right when we arrived, and even had more thoughtfully prepared for us after a long day of exploring. The beautifully designed courtyard, complete with fish, turtles, and a swimming pool, adds so much character. It genuinely offers a unique and enchanting take on the classic beauty of a Jiangnan water town.

JJimodelianrenaFor my father's birthday, I chose the newest five-star hotel in Gusu District for this Suzhou trip. The Kimpton's architectural style, which blends traditional Suzhou gardens and water features with modern facilities and InterContinental's excellent guest services, made my father very satisfied with this year's birthday arrangements. Moreover, we unexpectedly encountered a snow scene after many years; that snowy breakfast time and the sunny departure will become unforgettable memories for our whole family.
Of course, even a perfect jade has its flaws, so I'd like to offer some suggestions:
1. **Shoe-changing bench:** It's too light and easily slides when sat upon. The lower edge of the decorative painting behind it curves outward and could easily bump the back of one's head. This safety hazard definitely needs rectification.
2. **Luggage rack & drying rack:** For such a large room, there was no luggage rack. The only place that could barely accommodate a suitcase was also the only place to hang clothes. Freshly washed clothes inevitably drip, which is very impractical. I suggest adding a traditional retractable drying line in the bathroom and a drying rack in the south-facing courtyard.
3. **Privacy of the bathing area:** An open-plan modern design is fine for a king-size bed room, but it becomes awkward for a twin-bed room without a relatively enclosed bathing space.
4. **Bathroom door opening direction:** The outward-opening design is truly unreasonable, to the point that the bathmat can only be placed to the side, or the distance between the bottom of the door and the floor needs to be larger so it doesn't affect the mat when opening and closing.
5. **Switch locations are hard to find:** We couldn't find the switches for the two bedside lamps and the bathroom curtain for two days.
I suggest that the concierge could briefly introduce the room facilities when escorting guests to their rooms to enhance the check-in experience, so guests don't have to waste time figuring out how to use them.
6. **Unstable shower water temperature:** The water temperature was slightly low on the first day but very comfortable on the second.
7. **Lighting:** The room is large, but the lighting points are a bit sparse, making the overall ambiance rather dim, especially on cloudy days and at night, which makes it difficult for guests with poor eyesight to see.
8. **Air conditioning system:** The heating was insufficient; it only met standards with the help of a space heater.
9. **Housekeeping service:** They were very friendly, but I hope they come to work not only with a smile but also with their brains. Although guests generally don't fuss over minor issues like forgetting things, such a work attitude is indeed unprofessional. After all, Kimpton Bamboo Grove is a boutique hotel under InterContinental, not a boutique guesthouse. Guesthouses can emphasize personal touch, but a hotel's foundation is standardization.
10. **Breakfast:** The Western options were generally good, especially the baked goods, which were quite decent by current hotel breakfast standards. They also offered heating service, and the butter and cream were in good condition. The freshly made French toast and seasonal panettone were also a pleasant surprise, actually meeting expectations. The pudding bread and pineapple buns are commendable. The cereal with milk and fruit yogurt area felt quite high-end for a basic room priced a little over 1000, and there were also simple options of three cheeses and fresh cold cuts. The only letdown was the scrambled eggs with milk, which were really not good – overcooked and bland.
As a restaurant specializing in Su-style and Huaiyang cuisine, the Chinese breakfast selection was truly disappointing, especially the steamed items; none of them were up to par. The only satisfying item was the red soup noodles with braised pork, though from the perspective of Su-style noodles, these hard noodles weren't quite springy enough. But that's a minor issue, as many people prefer a softer texture. The red bean paste tangyuan (small glutinous rice balls) offered on the second day were quite good, with a rich bean paste. It would be even better if they could improve the heat retention, similar to how coffee was delivered to the glass room with a plastic lid on the first snowy day – that showed good awareness.
Overall, the restaurant staff had excellent attitudes. What impressed me most was going for breakfast on the second day; they had already arranged seating based on my father's preference. Their proactiveness and enthusiasm in service were impeccable, especially the young women in green suits.
The regular Huaiyang cuisine at Bamboo Grove Restaurant was also well-executed, but innovation in traditional dishes needs to be approached with caution. The professional skills of the waitstaff should be further trained to channel their enthusiasm for their jobs effectively and make the guests' dining experience even smoother.

CctgjTraveling with my parents, the hotel thoughtfully arranged two rooms closest to the common areas for us. The room layout was excellent, and the facilities were convenient. Although the restaurant didn't have a vast selection of dishes, it was sufficient, and the food tasted great. The hotel's location is easily accessible by car directly to the entrance. Turning right outside brings you straight to Pingjiang Road Pedestrian Street. Driver Master Zhou also provides rides to nearby attractions and shares insights into Suzhou's history and unique characteristics. Xu from the front desk was warm and attentive, always responding quickly to our WeChat inquiries. Thank you!

This understated beauty instills a deep sense of comfort and ease.
The room itself is the epitome of oriental aesthetics, with exquisite taste evident from the materials chosen to the furnishings arranged. Staying here, I felt far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, and close to an inner serenity – truly experiencing what it means to cultivate oneself. The nearby Suzhou Museum offers a close-up encounter with culture, and popular Suzhou snacks like Qiujuan, Panyulin Tangzhou, the beef pan-fried buns at Beihao Alley, and Suzhou's top-ranked Yang Zhaodi are all within easy reach, making it incredibly convenient to get around.
The hotel's oxygen therapy service is not just a gimmick. With every breath, that refreshing feeling, both inside and out, swept away the fatigue of a long journey and the 'muddiness' of city life, adding a touch of lively charm to this classical elegance.
What surprised me most was the breakfast. Eschewing the noise and monotony of a buffet, they offer an à la carte menu. Each dish felt tailor-made, beautifully presented, with fresh ingredients and delicate flavors. Quietly enjoying such a breakfast was not only a treat for the taste buds but also a sophisticated ritual of life.
This wasn't just a stay; it was more like a spiritual cleansing. I'll definitely be back.

GGuest UserMy parents were very satisfied, there were plenty of activities for the kids, and the Chinese restaurant was unexpectedly delicious 😋! The decor felt a little dated, but thankfully, it didn't detract from our overall experience. The mattress was incredibly comfortable – I wish I'd asked for the brand before we left!
Special shout-out to Gao Yanhong at the front desk for being so warm and courteous. Also, a big thank you to the lovely young lady at the club who lent me a sun umbrella and a hat (I completely forgot to get her name!). The kayaking instructor was incredibly patient as well. While the kids enjoyed kayaking, we 'parked' the seniors with the hotel's photography service, and we were very happy with the final photos!

She had already thoughtfully arranged the room based on my preferences and needs, ensuring the curtains offered just the right amount of blackout and the bed's firmness was perfect – every detail showed her attentiveness. Breakfast was meticulously prepared in advance; not only was it nutritionally balanced, but she also specifically included my favorite flavors. The warm meal arrived precisely on time, with the tableware neatly and elegantly set. Without needing many instructions, she managed everything flawlessly. Her meticulous service made every moment of our stay feel peaceful and comfortable. A huge thank you to Sylvia!

RRuthWe were happy with our stay here. The room was nicer than it looked online, and the hotel was really clean. There are playrooms for young children that are free (3 rooms with some different toys in each room). The rooms are a bit old and tired, but my 2 year old enjoyed playing there and requested UK hi back lots of times. For parents it is just great to have somewhere for your kid to play and have fun, especially as the weather was very cold when we went! Outside there is a play area and sand digging pit. Location is walking distance from Tongli old town. Restaurant does evening buffet, and buffet breakfast. The food is fine, more Chinese than western, my husband really liked it and my favourite part was the Beijing roast duck at dinner. The pool is warm, with floats and rubber rings to borrow. There is a little land train, it takes a 10 minute trip around the hotel grounds and the cost is 20RMB for one adult and child. For me it was very boring but my son loved it 😂
The staff are very warm and friendly, everyone is very professional. Each guest is connected to a butler on wechat before they arrive so you can easily send a message and get some help. Our butler is Yu Ting and she helped us very professionally.
For me, the things the hotel can improve are (1) the animal petting zoo - by western standard the facilities for the animals are not very good, just concrete enclosure with hut. For foreigners, we do not really like this. (2) We had a problem with the other guests smoking in the hotel, eg in the coffee bar. When I complained to the staff they tried to stop the guests, but even though they repeatedly reminded them to stop, the other guests continued. In the end they arranged for me to move to a private room near the bar where I could avoid the smoking. I was very grateful that they found a solution for me and my baby, but I am speechless there are such guests who flagrantly break the rules and the hotel cannot stop them. We smelled smoke in some different public areas, so maybe this is a problem with several guests 🙁
Overall we are happy with our stay and it is a good place to spend a few days with kids.

GGuest UserNow, I can sit here and tell you that we’re staying in an eco-friendly hotel that even though you’re inside its high glass windows gives you an outdoor vibe. I can even sit and talk about the saline pool, its state-of-the-art gym and list all the amenities; and I can even talk about the number of rooms and the fact that as we speak there’s an international summit going on here.
Somehow that won’t speak about my experience here at this hotel. Elements (by Westin) Suzhou Science & Technology Town does have all of the above BUT what I love about this hotel is its Staff. I love the fact that they seem to be always be here. I somehow believe that they live onsite because they’re always around.
In the morning, even before I enter the Salon I hear, “Nǐ hǎo Marsha” from the Breakfast Host, followed up by the nice lady in the Salon, smiling at me and ushering me to the coffee machine, while handing me my 2 brown sugar packs. She knows my morning habits so quickly. Not only that, because they knew Peter was missing from my breakfast table for a few mornings, they now signal to me with take away containers for Peter, to have his breakfast in the room.
When we need to go anywhere the young ladies at the Front Desk (no matter which Shift) are always either asking us where we need to go so that they can call a CASH taxi to get us to our destination. One of them even came with me one day to the Bank of China’s ATM and sat in the taxi while I went in and conducted my business and accompanied me to the Campus to visit Jon-Marc. Yesterday, one of them even used her own Didi account to get us transportation back to the hotel and we reimbursed her (and walked away while she was trying to give us back our change because we knew she wouldn’t have taken the Tip as is their custom). How else could we have shown her how grateful we were for her kind gesture?
Then there is Simon Jiang, the General Manager, who speaks perfect English and is always there to assist and offer suggestions of things to do and places to go. Simon was the one who actually explained to me that you can’t just walk into a pharmacy and get anything without a prescription. What I can tell you is that even though he is the GM he is always on hand assisting the staff with their work. Even though there is a clear hierarchy here, he takes off his jacket and assists in the kitchen, you can sometimes see him helping the older ladies bring out the heavy equipment (if needed) when they’re cleaning the floors, clear tables, etc.
Or Alex Ju, the Assistant General Manager, who accompanied Peter and I to the hospital and stayed and spoke with the doctor and the international insurance department on our behalf (in Mandarin) to make everything a little easier for us.
These people are the ones who have made my stay here memorable and I can honestly say that its because of them that I would recommend Elements by Westin in Suzhou to ANYONE who wanted a place to stay without hassle and with a host of helpful, courteous, friendly staff. It has been my pleasure having encountered such warm, friendly, delightful and gentle human beings.

**Environment:** Great, the air is fresh. The hotel grounds are lovely, with rivers, lakes, and ducks – very relaxing.
**Facilities:** The hot spring in our private villa was excellent. The water filled and drained quickly, and the temperature was just right. The small courtyard was also very nice, perfect for sunbathing or feeding the ducks. My only minor complaint is that some facilities are a bit old, and the bathroom curtain was quite dirty at the bottom.
**Cleanliness:** Pretty good, it was cleaned reasonably well.
**Service:** Excellent. They proactively explained everything during check-in, and calling for the shuttle bus was convenient.
**Parking:** There's an underground garage with plenty of spaces, more than enough.
**Breakfast:** Horrible. Not many options. None of the pastries were good; they tasted like pre-packaged items, and not even good pre-packaged ones. The Chinese food wasn't good either, the mini wontons were hard. The only decent thing was the made-to-order omelet.
The hotel's photo-taking service was okay, not many people. There's a group of greedy ducks on the property, they're adorable.
Overall, it was still pretty good.

We were particularly impressed by the range of facilities that catered to everyone in the family. The hot springs were a highlight for us, providing a tranquil escape and a perfect way to unwind and rejuvenate. The water was just right, and the surroundings were serene, adding to the overall relaxing atmosphere.
The swimming pool was also a big hit, especially with the kids. Spacious and well-maintained, it offered plenty of room for swimming, splashing, and simply having fun. The kids’ playground was another wonderful feature that our children absolutely loved. It was well-designed, safe, and filled with engaging activities that kept them entertained while we enjoyed a bit of downtime.
Food at the Novotel Suzhou was a true treat! The morning brunch had a diverse selection of delicious items that catered to all tastes. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, making each meal a delightful experience. We looked forward to each dining experience, knowing there was something new to try and savor.
The afternoon brunch was another stand-out feature. It was a luxurious affair with a mix of international and local flavors that kept us coming back for more. The chefs clearly took pride in their craft, and it showed in every dish.
Overall, our stay at the Novotel Suzhou was filled with wonderful moments, from relaxing in the hot springs to enjoying family time at the pool and playground. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to create lasting family memories, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!
