My quarantine stay at Monarch was excellent. Since I was a frequent traveler and had stayed there a few times before, they upgraded me to an executive room for my 8-night stay. I truly enjoyed the many big windows, the great view, and the renovated room with the spacious bathroom. My room number was 1206 and I strongly recommend it. Effective 8/6/22, Monarch changed back to a regular hotel with no options for quarantine stays. My husband and I stayed here in Mid-August for 2 nights with free breakfast delivered to the room. We stayed in room 1402, which was a corner renovated room and not bad, but not nearly as spacious as the previous room. Both rooms had views facing the scenic park and that helped make our stays very satisfying.

This check-in was not pleasant because I had to wait for 3 hours. I placed an order at 14:40 and arrived at the hotel at 15:10. The counter had not received my order yet. At 18:00, I asked Ctrip and the reply immediately confirmed that it was OK. Ctrip handled it in time and I I asked if the counter was open again, and the answer was that I couldn't be found, so I would wait in the lobby. At most, I would go outside to smoke and then come in and wait. I went back and forth. The point was that I was waiting there. I also misunderstood that it was a Ctrip problem. It turned out to be a hotel problem. This is the first time I have encountered this problem in the past few years. In short, I just feel uncomfortable.

Better than expected, the air conditioner is very cold, the lights in the room are brighter than expected, there is no smell of smoke and no peculiar smell. Although the hotel is old, it is kept very clean. The water jet from the shower head is very strong. The front desk staff is very kind. No need to wait for the elevator. Breakfast is okay. Life is great. The functions are perfect, there are many choices for food and drink, and it is close to the night market. I will stay here again next time. There is alcohol in the elevator to disinfect your hands which is very considerate.

A good experience for staying in the motel with car parking underneath the room. Can't enjoy much of the amenities offered in the room as only 1 night transit stay before the next day's early flight.Do take note on the late check in time as compared to other standard hotels. The only downside is that you need to carry your luggage to the room located upstairs. Not so ideal for travellers with heavy luggage.

There is a convenience store diagonally opposite, or take a 10-minute bus ride to Carrefour.

After a long day of traveling, we laid on the bed with the pillow that could break a cement block. It was a single floor hotel located in a big building, in Taoyuan. At about 25 minutes away from the airport, it's not in an area with a lot of places to go, but is good for a short stay somewhat close to the airport. There is access to a 7/11, a grocery store, and a handful of restaurants near by. Employees were really nice and offer the service of booking taxis for you in advance, which was really convenient. They don't really offer food, but do have utensils, a microwave, water, and cleansing necessities. One thing that was a little disappointing was the scent of cigarette smoke we found in our bathroom. They have the rule of no smoking, but it may not be enforced extremely harshly. One more flaw about the facilities is that the bathroom isn't an enclosed room, but rather just two stalls inside the hotel room, one with the toilet and one with a shower with the sink outside which was inconvenient. Overall, a mediocre hotel.
