My friend recommended me this hotel and it really is amazing. If you’re looking for a more premium accommodation this place is really perfect. It reminds me of something you would experience in France. I loved the complimentary use of USB chargers, room size and amazing upkeep of the hotel. It’s somewhere I’d love to and prefer to return to another day.

We were grateful that you were able to accommodate our short notice reservation, and we are also grateful for your consideration of my grandchild's stay during our stay.
As for meals, the attached restaurant seems to be familiar to my son and his wife, so we ate together and enjoyed the delicious food.

1. How should I put it? The house is old and still being renovated. There is no front desk. When I met a few guys (probably staff members) who were working on the house, they didn’t know English at all, so communication was very difficult.
2. This location is far from the subway, a fifteen-minute walk. It is next to the track, which is very noisy. The location is remote and there are many mosquitoes.
3. There is no charge for a washing machine in the house. There is no dryer. I was told that there was one nearby when I walked out, but I couldn’t find it.
4. The sound insulation is very poor. You have to go to Shinjuku to go to any subway station. It is not recommended to stay here if you are traveling. The transportation cost and time are really not recommended.
5. How can I put it this way? If you want to experience suburban life, you have enough time. It’s okay to wander around. You can cook and there are many small shops and convenience stores to eat. It’s not as convenient as a hotel when traveling.

I was planning to go to the Ghibli Museum the next day, but I found out that I had to make an appointment a month in advance. I would like to remind future travelers that the museum is really close and can be reached in 10 minutes. The hotel facilities are full of Showa style, and the earliest must be Heisei. The washbasin is cracked, and it looks like it has experienced the 311 earthquake, but other than that, it is fine. After all, this is the Tokyo area, and the prices in the capital are not covered. The guy at the front desk was very friendly and helped a lot, thank you

Very clean, but there is no elevator to cry and cry. The room has no smell, sound insulation is OK, heating and air conditioning are OK, the toilet is great, there is warm air, the convenience store is also very close, the station is also very close, mainly because the landlord is very good and gentle, and also very clean, there is a vacuum cleaner in the room.

Outstanding
GGuest UserI am a book lover myself, and came to stay here for 2 nights in March a week before Easter, mainly for the library theme and book selection. The hotel itself, the book lounge, and the book libraries on each floor was all very very good. However, upon my checking in, it was obvious that the male receptionist on the left pay more attention to Caucasian guests rather than me (an Asian solo female traveller). I had the impression they just wanted to get rid of me asap, and then served the Caucasian guests behind me.
During the whole of my check in process, no one mentioned anything about the special libraries on each floor, no one told me about the free beverages offered “at the far end corner for the reception desk”, and definitely no one mentioned anything about he QRcode library tour!!! I stayed for two nights and it was only after the first night (when I read the books inside my room that I knew of ANY of the services I mentioned above). Of course one may say I could read all those on the signage’s provided in the property. But then…
Upon walking into the reception desk the next day, I did hear the same male receptionist explained in great detail (everything I mentioned above)in English to other Caucasian guests.
I like the library premise of the property, the books selections were great, exhibition on the first floor was quite nice, however, I am not sure if I would stay for a second time, knowing how they treated solo female Asian guest whom they assumed was not civilised enough (that was my impression) to deserve a thorough introduction about this lovely bookish hotel from them. Quite disappointed to be frank, especially knowing how much history this hotel has included!!
SspyeeewThe location is superb. 3 min walk to train station and bus terminal as well as to big department stores hands and Takashimaya. Due to high floor, the view is great! But the service is so so. Requested for extra blanket and couldn’t be acceded unlike Sunroute across the road, the extra blanket was placed on the bed before check. Service definitely needs to be improved
WWinnie PPThe hotel is very close to Shinjuku Station, which made getting around Tokyo a breeze.
Convenience stores like Lawson and Family Mart are right next door, perfect for grabbing snacks or essentials.
The room had everything needed— phone cable, shampoo, and toothbrush etc —making it super convenient.
the staff were incredibly helpful in resolving a minor issue we had, which made my experience even better.
I’ll definitely stay here again on my next trip!
MMommy MaricelPerfect location for Tokyo marathon runners. It is just by the starting line. Everything was great. Room super spacious and clean . We had a fantastic view of the Metropolitan Building with led lights show. Food so good in the buffet. Service is excellent.
SSALLESWe had a nice stay at Washington Hotel Akihabara. The hotel is well located, nearby metro lines and local trains which allow us to easily move around Tokyo. Although the room is small, it is well designed and it big enough for few nights. The bed is not very large but comfortable. We managed to sleep with our 2 yo kid. You can also choose between soft or hard pillow. The bathroom was quite big with a nice bathtub. Around the hotel, you have plenty of restaurant and convenient stores. The buffet breakfast was great and everything we try tastes really good ! There is a large choice between Japanese food and wester food. Finally, there is a laundry area which was really convenient.
AAnonymous UserVery clean, spacious, the biggest room I got so far for single occupancy, able to open my suitcase n still got space to walk around comfortably. Very convenient just 7 mins walk to/from Ueno station or 4 mins to/from Okachimachi station. Kensei Skyliner to Narita airport just short walk from Ueno station. Good for last min shopping at Ameyoko Street (Uniqlo/GU, supermarket, Daiso, Donki, etc). Delicious & affordable Chirashi Don Sushi bowl (must have). They also catered free half portion ramen at night, yakult & ice sticks after Onsen (manga at the entertainment room). Definitely will stay again.
GGuest UserI love the location it’s super convenient. Staff are super polite and smiley.
Service wise is not good too many strange rules firstly, there is no phone in the room. In case u need one it’s near the elevator on each floor to speak to the staff.
The twin bed are way too big for us 2/3 of the room. I can’t even open my suitcase easily.
Only one elevator in this 14 storeys hotel right next to their emergency stairways. There is a sign saying if you are in a rush please use the stairways but we were on the higher floor and it’s so cold February a few degrees Celsius ???? Well no thanks I shall wait patiently then……
No daily cleaning service we stayed 5 nights the hotel offered one time cleaning during our stay. All the dirty linens and garbage have to be placed outside your door by 10am if new towels needed. Strangely one bottle complimentary water was given to 2 guests daily together in a bag of towels and slippers toothbrush garbage bags. Only one washing machine ¥600 35mins, dryer ¥300 60mins available (cashless payment only) Onsen too small and poor facilities.
AAnonymous Useri booked the triple room as it was the only room left. there was space for only 1 large luggage - the room was a little old but bed and duvet surprisingly comfy. onsen was small so it got a little crowded as the hotel was full that night. location was great - tho the nearest ikebukuro stn exit with lift, C9 (vs 20b), is a little further from the station. excellent authentic chinese food nearby (豪妈 on google maps), and a family mart just across the street. great hotel!
GGuest UserSmall clean room as expected but having to get your own amenities and very little around the area makes it purely for accommodation purposes. Though there are 2 lines of trains that are very close by it’ll take about 25 minutes ride to get to major Tokyo hotspots like Shibuya. McDonald’s right down stairs and a convenient store all accessible completely undercover was perfect for some of the rainy weather I experienced during my stay
