"First of all the service was beyond bad, it’s as if the staff never communicated with eachother. Upon arrival, we got asked if we were celebrating anything, to which we said yes as it’s our fifth anniversary, and they said they would arrange a surprise for us the next day. We finished our stay without any surprise or acknowledgment as to what had happened, it was just forgotten. They would ask us every day if it was our first time at breakfast, ask about allergies and so on, which on your fifth day at the hotel makes it feel very impersonal. The hotel is also very restrictive in when you can use their amenities, which is laughable when they have no direct beach access. Their pool only opens 11am-6pm, their bikes (which are in horrible shape) can only be hired 9am-6pm…it felt like being at a school camp instead of an alleged 5-star hotel. You are stranded on a street with nothing to do, no signal outside of the hotel, no free beach access and a whopping $40 to get to the town center (which is a 15min drive away). To put the cherry on top, we got called to our room on our last night asking when we would like our bags collected for check-out, they said it was arranged…and it never was. We also never got asked if we had a nice stay upon leaving, nothing. They truly don’t seem to care. Honestly, save yourself the trouble."

The customer service from the hotel was extremely poor, they tried to make us pay 500 pesos per day for bikes when next door they were 200. "We had a great stay at Moxy Tulum! The hotel is simple but very nice, clean, modern, and comfortable. We appreciated having two double beds, which worked well for our trip. A special shoutout to David, who took care of us every morning at breakfast. He remembered our names from day one and always welcomed us with a smile, even when we returned later in the day. That personal touch made us feel genuinely valued. The breakfast was okay—not anything to rave about—but it was convenient and enough to get the day started. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The friendly staff, clean rooms, and great service made it a place we’d definitely consider staying at again."

"Excellent room and surroundings. The balcony is spacious and directly facing a sunset. There are two restraunts and two public pools for amenities. Great staff, great food, great facility. The hotel is bigger than it looks. Good price overall, though the beech might be a little far for people who didnt rent bikes/cars."

"Dear Tripadvisor Users, Please don't go here... We got a room which was really humid, just unhealthy. The bed was wet and filled with small human hair pieces, the bathroom was full with mold and the toilet was not working. Just an unhealthy environment. Pictures are available. We asked for a refund, but because of 'policy reasons' this was not possible according the female manager. So with others words, we were forced to sleep in an unhealthy room. As an alternative they offered us another room, which was in their words an upgrade. The bath was maybe 1m2 bigger, not really an upgrade. The same conditions also here: too humid, wet bed, mold, hairs in the bed, luckily this toilet was working. We slept there only one night at least to try, but the day after I was forced to look for a better hotel. We booked for 3 night, but no single dollar was refunded. Everybody knows that policies also have exceptions... I think this hotel is unique in promoting themselves in a positive way on internet and social media, but in real life it is one big disappointment. Please don't fall for it."
