The welcome was very pleasant and the room we were allocated was indeed the quiet room we’d requested upon booking. We were upstairs with something of a lake view in a room that looked as though it had recently been re-furbished. The room was clean and comfortable and access to the car park via a set of stairs from the corridor made loading and unloading much easier than if we’d had to access our room from front reception, in what is quite a large building. There is a bar adjacent to the front entrance and a restaurant at the rear (which was closed during our stay) and I don’t know what impact they would have had upon our desire for a quiet room had they been going full swing of a weekend.

It is not recommended to book this one. The room is the smallest and the smallest in the New Zealand trip. The suitcases cannot be opened, just like a snail house in a small attic. The ancillary facilities in the room are rudimentary, with dim lighting and poor sound insulation. A night here was the worst experience of a dozen days in New Zealand ...

If you are taking bus to Wanaka, the place to get off is the location of the hotel, very convenient. We booked a four-person room with two beds, the room is all wood, with kitchen and bathroom, and a balcony, sitting outside and the sun is very comfortable.

We brought a child, thought it was enough for two big beds, the result was two small beds, and also added 25 SGD, only a microwave oven, the bath water is very hot, the heating is not enough, not recommended

We were a group of 20 (with 10 children ranging from 0 - 12) and the Oasis Yurts were perfect for our family holiday. The yurts were super comfortable, very roomy and kept cool in the hot weather with the black out curtains, fan and opening rooftop! With the log fires I imagien they would be super cozy in winter too! The central lodge was a perfect size and the kitchen was fit out with everything we needed. The extra spaces such as the teepee, large lawn complete with lawn games and hot tub just added to the fun! The location was also perfect - just a few minutes drive from Wanaka town centre, the lavender farm, puzzle world and Hook Salmon Farm. If your looking for a group get away you simply cannot do better than the Oasis Yurts!

Really nice hostel with excellent, clean and spacious kitchen. Heaps of fridge space. Staff were lovely and helpful and I had a good time chatting at check in - they just set a friendly and open atmosphere. My room was great - had the private double with bathroom which was clean and comfortable with a great view of the lake - needs some sort of net curtain though as it felt very exposed with the curtains open as there is a main walkway right outside the window as well as the carpark Parking was easy and secure on site and it’s right by the lake and a quick walk into town - like 1-2 minutes. You’re right by the food trucks and supermarket so you can get a cheap good feed if you’re not in the mood to cook. Wifi needs serious improvement. Couldn’t get a connection in my room without standing in a particular spot and even then it was weak. Decided to try the lounge area but the connection was terrible there too so it’s definitely a hostel-wide issue. If you needed to work here then it would be pretty hard to do so.
