Wenling yinxingyuan seaside home stay

The sister and brother team brings excellent customer service to this guesthouse - individualizing the care I received. I only had a single dinner there - but some of the best 番茄炒蛋 (fried eggs and tomatoes) I've had, with tender pork ribs! While no other guest took advantage of the balcony (a cultural difference as 'outdoor culture' isn't strong in China), I had every meal on the balcony. Booked this place with the sole purpose of hiking the Shuitong'ao (水桶岙) trail, with the long route finishing nearby. The brother drove me to its start and off I went. 7 hours later, I walked into the guesthouse, sunburnt, but content. A twenty-minute walk away is a Mazu temple with evening performances (maybe just temporary). A thirty minute hike takes you over the mountain ridge and to an abandoned village with a secluded beach (there were five others in the water shallows, so I was willing to take a dip) - swim at your own risk, but was fun for getting knocked around in the waves. Building a road above, so may make it easier, though less adventurous to reach the abandoned village. The guesthouse has a little swimming pool which was nice for cooling off. Never visited the popular beach nearby as it can get crowded and it only opens from 9-6 at low tide. Rooms were quiet and could not hear other guests, mostly families. Thirty minute didi to Shitang and the colorful buildings.
