Bakasyunan Resort and Conference Center - Zambales

Iba
My family stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. We booked 3 rooms thru booking.com and it happened that the rooms were far from each other, we tried to change it but the whole resort is occupied. So when booking thru a different site, better check the bakasyunan map first before you reserve, unless it doesn't matter if your room is not close to each other. Anyways the resort isn't that big so the walking distance is not that far. The receptionist is not smiling and also when we asked for a room upgrade, they said they don't have any even before checking. Our room (girls room) is a nipa hut named Dinagyang with 4 queen size beds, separate toilet and bath, TV, fridge and terrace, big space which can accommodate 8 pax. Boys room is the executive room with toilet and bath, TV and 2 twin beds enough for 4 pax but since they are 5 we paid for additional mattress. The couples room (mahogany room) has one queen bed with toilet, bath and TV. We had some issues with our nipa room and unfortunately on our first night, I slipped in the shower. I immediately went to the receptionist and asked for the duty manager. Ms. Gloria came and I told her what happened, I also informed her about all the issues that we had with our rooms like sliding door very noisy, showerhead broken, fridge not working etc. She and the whole bakasyunan staff immediately solved the problem and I am very thankful to them. The ground staff helped us a lot specially Ashley, she was very helpful and she assisted us throughout our stay. On our first day since we arrived early we had our lunch in their restaurant. We had bangus, fried chicken, vegetables and sisig. They all tasted great I loved the bangus with garlic butter (yummy) for me the chicken is a bit dry, but there are some items in the menu that are not available, they should update their menu. We had our breakfast in their restaurant throughout our stay. You have to order the night before and inform them of the time in order for them to have ample time to prepare the food. They do ala carte menu for breakfast, but don't expect it to be five-star rate, and ask them first if they will be able to make it or not. I don't recommend the American breakfast it's just vienna sausage with eggs and toast, they do offer Filipino breakfast which is good. You can also buy fresh seafoods from the fishermen by the beach and have it grilled (we bought sugpo). We also bought dried fish (danggit) and had them cook it for breakfast and ordered garlic rice. You will pay corkage if you bring food from outside, but you have food options like ordering Jollibee and Shakeys. We had fun swimming in the pool and beach (black sand with high waves), but the whole place have games and selfie murals that you will also enjoy. Bakasyunan resort Zambales is nice but outdated. They need to upgrade their rooms and services to accommodate paying guests like us and not only for those who are staying one night or team building. They also need to plant Citronella around the p

Potipot Gateway Resort

For a resort located in Zambales, it's quite far coming from Manila. More or less, you'll spend around 5-6 hours driving. There are a lot of things to see upon entering the premises, like a bridge walkway, a nearby river and lots of plants and animals. It's definitely ”Instagrammable”, especially if you like to post a lot in social media. Rooms are divided into separate cabins, depending on how many you are as a group. The rooms have an old-school house vibe, but are clean and cozy. Unfortunately, we were booked in rooms that had very limited wifi and signal. We had to go to the main dining area to make use of the wifi. The food in the resort was under-the-radar good. Nothing stood out but everything we ordered was consistently well-cooked. The beachside area was okay, though you take a boat ride going to the more beautiful Potipot island. There are other things to do in the resort like a swimming pool, pool table and karaoke, as well as musical acts depending on the day. Overall, the resort is perfect if 1.) you're a group of friends who don't like crowded resorts, 2.) you're a family with small kids or 3.) an office department planning a team building since the resort is quite spacious for physical activities and fellowship activities.

A week ago, I booked a ”superior Deluxe” room with bathtub, for our 8th couple Anniversary, as I wanted to treat my wife for this occasion. As she was around and I couldn't speak, I immediately confirmed by e-mail, requesting (with a supplement) some flowers and chocolates. First my request was denied for ”short notice” ! Like you need over 2 days to pick a flew flowers and buy some chocolates... Upon arrival, we had to pay the total amount, 18'000 peso, in advance ! Now I understand why... The first room did not have a bathtub, so I demanded that my booking to be fulfilled ! Then we were brought to the one with a bathtub... For the whole week-end we didn't have any warm water, so no bathtub, no shower ! The room was filthy... I ate a cookie on saturday afternoon, the crumbs were still on the nightstand when we left on monday ! The room 581 ”Superior Deluxe” is totally run down, just check the pictures !!! Stains everywhere on the walls, dirty windows, loose electric wires hanging in front of windows... Cobwebs on the Shower ceiling... And the bathtub... Probably some antiques from the 19th century when you see this piece of work (pictures to prove...). If you like geology, you will enjoy that room, as you also havbe a wonderful ”fault line” going across the room ! Now the restaurant... Many dishes are ”unavailable” even simple hashbrowns !!! What's left is totally overpriced and the crew prefers to sit and make jokes about the customers (bad luck, my wife is pinay and understood the whole lot...) ! So all in all ? A week-end in Hell at the price of a very good hotel in Manila... Just stay away !

We really had fun for our day tour experience here in this place, all of the staff was accommodating and the day tour fee was reasonable. Rest assured will go back here again for us to stay away from the city (that is so busy) Fee was 500php and 300php consumable at the pool bar. It means you pay only 200php for their amenities and beach-front area. Thank you so much for the experience, see you soon 🤍☀️

A good job well done in MOPE! The owners, Mr Matt and Mrs Wilma, the staffs are all awesome. They are friendly and always have a smile that makes us feel at home. I would recommend people to come here. they have everything that has to offer such as Bars, Filipino & Western Foods. The cleanliness of the room are thumbs up! They provide island hopping, surfing and etc. This will be one of the best Beach Resort in the area. Kudos to all of you!! I will be gladly to be back again!

NO beach access Rooms are dirty When you left the key inside the room (not lost) they will charge you 200php Breakfast is terrible - only Buffet during weekends and on weekdays they will only serve one plated meal. They don’t even serve juice during breakfast. They will only serve instant coffee which is Nescafe sachet. And it states hot choco on the menu when it’s just a Milo pack. They don’t have a pancake or even cereals and they have the guts to charge breakfast fee for how much????? Their executive rooms is not so executive. It feels like you are in a standard room i’m not lying! They don’t even have a hair blower to dry your hair after swimming. If you want to go to the beach you have to go there intentionally. You can either walk but it’s 2kms away or ride a tricycle. Once you’re there if you wanna swim you have to pay again to swim on the beach plus you will still need to rent a cottage. If only this hotel discloses that there’s no beach access — we can avoid this hassle. They don’t have towels in the pool that you can use after swimming. They are claiming they are a 3-star hotel but in fact the experience and service they provide is for 1 star hotel or less. WASTE OF MONEY! DO NOT STAY HERE!

There are no particular problems with the facilities. I was able to check in and out smoothly. The room was large and Japanese people could spend there without any problem. The shower is weak. Food has its own peculiarities. (especially sausage) The rice porridge tasted like ginseng chicken soup.
