There were several items which I was unhappy about and had I been informed of them prior to booking I would have stayed somewhere else.
On checking in were asked to supply our credit card for a 200 euro hold to be placed on it! I find the requirement completely outrageous in that you seem to assume that I'm going to cause some damage to your hotel and want to be covered in the event. That is totally unacceptable in the case of two 70 year olds staying for one night. Had we been a party of young lads on a stag night out you could understand it. Sorry bud......not on.
It was late when we arrived and were very pleased that there was a restaurant on the premises to revive ourselves. The menu was very narrow as was the wine list and the food wasn't very appetising. I wouldn't eat there again.
We visited the roof top bar which was deader than a funeral home and so we took ourselves back to the main bar for the rest of the evening.
The lift has confusing information . On the outside it lists the floors as 1, 2, Reception. When you get into the lift it has buttons for 1, 2, 0+ and 0-. Not a word about reception and of course we went to wrong floor for reception. A small thing but annoying and easily fixed.
There was no stairs from our room to the reception that we could find either. I'm fairly sure that a stairs is a legal requirement in the event of a fire but I couldn't find one. And I looked twice!
On the positive side, when we left the next morning, a really nice chap checked us out and when I got into my car I discovered that the lens from one of my glasses had popped out . I went back into the hotel and the hotel porter who had just checked me out could not have been more helpful. We found the lens beside the bed and made the repairs. Your man is wasted in the hotel porter role. You should give him the top job in my opinion.
I won't be rushing back.

It's quite good. There are restaurants and supermarkets nearby, and it's about a 15-minute walk to the cathedral. The hotel has underground parking, but it's in a pedestrian zone, so you need to ask the hotel in advance how to get in. The route is a bit confusing.

YING
The hotel is an old building, it looks very classical, but it seems that the paint is still used to hit the floor, the taste is very big. Because I went back to dinner very late at night, I lay down and found that the taste was already in the middle of the night. I was sorry to disturb. I sat with the window open for one night and was very helpless.

Surprise stay
Yes, this accommodation really surprised us.
The room and bathroom was larger as expected and spotless clean.
Bed comfortably and we had a good night sleep.
Breaky included….Yes.
All selfservice with fresh baguette and croissants
More then we have expected since we normally never order breakfast
The care taker was also very friendly and helpful
Finally got a road side car park spot infront of the door for 5 euro till 9:00am next morning
All in all we would highly recommend this place and the price was reasonable good for what is delivered

We were so sad to leave after 3 days, I recommend making it your base for the Loire Valley (not least because it’s the prettier side of the Loire). We looked forward to our return from the castles in the afternoon: swimming and lounging, strolling through the Romantic garden or choosing one of its many ‘rooms’ to while the evening away, doing a 5km run through farmland and tree-lined paths along the Indre, relaxing with a cocktail and playing billiards (badly) or dipping into the library. The rooms are comfortable, the atmosphere, artistic and relaxed. Highly recommend having the breakfast and dinner, home-made and delicious. Coral is on hand with great suggestions for your trip. In fact, it feels like stepping back in time into a ‘pensione’ where all you have to do is arrive.

Guest UserI don't understand the 3 stars for this hotel. At best 2 stars would be enough.
Very basic room with passable bedding. The bathroom is more than dated. The bottom of the toilet is brown...... The bed lights no longer work so 2 small bedside lamps were quickly installed in their place. Dust everywhere and even a dead moth in the cover of the extra pillow above the wardrobe. Choose the ibis budget hotels which are much more modern with impeccable bedding and cleanliness. I will not stay in this hotel again but if you don't follow my advice, ask for a room on the garden floor. Breakfast is too expensive (11.50) however the staff is very pleasant
