"Firstly, the staff we encountered were lovely, very accommodating and helpful. The reception entrance was promising, being bright and modern with a very pleasant receptionist and smooth check in. However, our room lacked appeal, comfort or anything that made one wish to stay in it for longer than a night. To be fair, we were asked twice on check in, if we would like to move to a different floor. I jokingly asked if there was a problem with the room we'd been allocated but was told no. We were allocated Room 7. Whilst it appeared clean to the best the facilities allowed, it was unpleasant. The bottom of the bathroom door appeared water damaged and rotten. The sink was cracked. The radiator was rusted by urine splashes as situated beside the toilet and the shower was situated in a recess with no curtain or screen, so quickly spilled on to the floor making the bath mat soaked. The lock on the bathroom door didn't work. There was no hair dryer. Only one USB point within the very small TV which only charged if it was on. Being on the ground floor, our window opened out on to the narrow walk way and one poor man walked into it on his way to reception. SatNav instructions take you to a dead end further down the road and several attempts at finding our way around the God awful roundabout eventually led us to a very small parking area at the front of the hotel. Breakfast at 9.00 pm was initially disappointing. One plate was available, no bread for the toaster, no milk for the cereals. One sausage, no beans, no bacon. More food did eventually appear, as did plates, and it was very nice. The croissants and pastries were lovely too. The coffee machine was good. As mentioned, the staff were very good and we requested an iron which was bought to us quickly with a board by a lovely young man. The bed was awful. Rock hard and not much comfort from a meagre duvet that was so thin that initially we thought it had been forgotten. Anyway, one night, cheap and basic. Served its purpose but would look elsewhere and pay more. Think we were just unlucky."

"Really nice service and quiet clean hotel. Price is affordable I would really recommend it. They have done some changes recently and they have improve the common space in the lounge. Love the place"

"This hotel has seen better days unfortunately.. Maybe it was once a main hotel chain but the current owners are struggling to keep on top of issues. .The first room offered to me had a mouldy damp smell. The second option was better . But overall I couldn't recommend a stay here."

"Wow the room that I had booked was absolutely lovely, it was spacious, clean and the bed was so comfortable, I had a really good nights sleep.  The hotel is only a walk away from the airport terminal so i was able to have breakfast without having to be stressed for time.  I will be returning in the near future for my next trip.  The hotel is great value for money."

"Myself and my 12 year old daughter were given room 44 on Monday 30th March which we didn't realise was right above the Restaurant. Even after calling Reception to query the loud Ed Sheeran music that could be heard very loudly above the TV in our room, they turned it down a little but we heard the music all night until 11pm and then was woken again at 6:45am by the Breakfast piano music. The room appeared to have zero or minimal sound proofing resulting in a very poor nights sleep and a pointless stay. The facilities offered and breakfast options were also not very family friendly with only small cereal boxes aimed at children. Adding pancakes or waffles to the menu would be a good addition to compliment the range of breakfast toppings."

"The hotel is conveniently located next to Birmingham New Street Station and right by Chinatown, offering a wide array of food options. A major plus was the air conditioning in the room, especially as I visited during Europe's heatwave. The breakfast was also very nice, though British breakfasts tend to be a bit simple."

"I always look forward to staying at this hotel. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and always remember me. IThis has become my no.1 hotel to stay whenever I'm visiting Birmingham. Breakfast has an amazing array of things from muffins to hot English breakfast to salad selection, cold meats selection, cereals and selection of breads. Topped off with hot drinks or juices. This hotel is amazing."

"I enjoyed the location of the hotel, it was really clean and tidy the room was beautiful with a view of the local bus station on its doorstep also BBC Coventry radio behind the hotel. The room was spacious with all accessories we needed. Could've done with a wet room as me and my partner are disabled but because its a family room its expected to have a bath with shower head over the bath. We was on the 4th floor with lift nearby"

"Hotel is in a great position at the top of Broad Street, greeted with a smile at reception and the room was ready early which was a bonus.  The twin room was on the 15th floor with great views over Edgbaston. The only fault was the bathroom door was very heavy and wouldn’t close. This was reported and reception did offer to move us but we had already unpacked.  The biggest disappointment was breakfast - we saw photo in the lift and it looked great especially as my daughter is dairy free. However there were no blueberries or raspberries or strawberries or blackberries and when we pointed this out the lady behind reception said it was a case of false advertising - nothing was offered as compensation so all in all very disappointed."

"It was within walking distance 5 minutes to the train station It was also within walking distance 7 minutes to the Conference Centre I had great conversations with a very friendly receptionist who checked me in was at the desk most times when I was going out and she checked me out... In the interim the other receptionist came upstairs to let me know nicely and politely that my Taxi was waiting. Another girl receptionist was also very friendly she let me have a complimentary cup of tea after the machine failed to give me a full cup when I paid I was very well looked after. Being where it is near the station and the conference center I will defnitely stay there again."
