The hotel has good and safe parking space and has green surroundings a nice environment for a relaxing stay. The room was good and clean. Service was okay. Food was better. There should be a wash basin/washroom just outside the restaurant. Overall it was a good and comfortable stay.

Rooms were clean and spacious. They come with a small heater as well.Staff were really friendly. But the wifi was not working due to some issues. And the geyser was not working as well which was extremely inconvenient especially since I was travelling during December month. I called the reception regarding the same and they said it is centralised water heater and hence let the cold water flow out first. Even after buckets of water being thrown out, water was not even lukewarm. If hot water is essential for you, centralised heater does not work efficiently.

On the top of a beautiful hill in the center of the city, there are many ancient buildings nearby. The hotel has three accommodations and three restaurants, all adjacent to each other. The breakfast is very good, and the Asian dishes in the MANDALAY restaurant are also very good. The price/performance ratio is much better than other hotels in Shillong.

GGuest UserOverall it is a very nice property and very well maintained .A glitch however happened .. ordered lunch.. there menu says phoolka.. . I ordered 4 phoolkas . They missed telling me that as per them phoolka has 2 units and also this is not written anywhere in their menu... so overall 8 chappatis came which were very much in excess. I never want to waste food and decided that will consume it in evening after getting them heated up. But on calling them in evening to get the chappatis heated they refused even though I told them that I ordered them from their restaurant only for lunch .They could have easily done it. It is not a big thing . Food should not be wasted, is a simple and good thing to imbibe. Hope they are more considerate in future or do some corrections in their menu card.

Santosh ji at the reception was very friendly, engaging and helped out everyone with suggestions on places to visit, routes and travel plans.

GGuest UserWe stayed for 1 night where we booked executive room.The room though a little small is very clean and well maintained.The staff are polite and helpful.But the highlight was the excellent dinner.The taste of the soup,chicken satay,mixed fried rice and custard caramel still lingers..it was one of the best dinners that we have had.The breakfast was simple but tasty.I would definitely recommend this place ,can book deluxe room instead of executive if more space requires

The only thing I felt was the place was being located little away from the main road with no nearby restaurants, although breakfast was complimentary and they provided a healthy one but travelling with a parents who needs an early breakfast and on medication would be difficult although you kept snacks or eatables ***** with you.

GGuest UserWe stayed 3 nights which in hindsight was too long because while the delux tent is well-maintained, clean and cosy, the location is right above the noisy, busy and dusty road, and as such we had very disturbed sleep from the constant loud truck noises, tooting / beeping and screeching breaks which seemed to go on throughout the night and into the early hours. The truck movements are pretty much non-stop it seemed! Which was a massive drawback. The sandy green dust kicked up by the road is something else too, and coats everything and everywhere including our lungs no doubt! Very sneezy! So it definitely didn’t turn out to be quite the peaceful ‘retreat’ hoped and longed for. The staff really need training in hospitality too - as the welcome was lacklustre at best, and the information provided was minimal. It was like getting blood from a stone. The food is fine - although pretty limited for vegetarians. The swimming pool was out of action during our stay, which would have been good to be made aware of before us booking! But courteousness and, as above, forthcoming information is not their strong point or forte! The lake / general area is however amazing and there is really great walking / hiking / trekking as soon as you get off the the busy main road. There seems to be resorts and places to stay everywhere around there, and so if we came back we would definitely opt not to stay back here, but somewhere hopefully quieter, with a working pool, and of a more hospitable ilk. So to sum it up - an overpriced stay for the facilities available, the lack of sleep and peace due to the road traffic noise is a huge negative, ***** with the sandy dust, and the lacklustre staff! Also worth noting that there’s no wifi and during our stay the electricity was out for quite a bit of the time.
