The first time I traveled abroad alone, I started from Luang Prabang. I am very glad that I chose this youth hostel, which made a good start for my solo trip in Southeast Asia. I am full of expectations for the next trip!
First of all, the public area environment is superb! The large swimming pool, open restaurant bar, open-air green plants, and I happened to meet employees climbing trees and cutting coconuts to drink... Each item makes the holiday feel 11111. Even if you don't go shopping on the street, just staying here to bask in the sun or lie down is a very comfortable and pleasant enjoyment.
Most of the people living here are Europeans and Americans. The restaurant bar provides simple meals and drinks. Get up early and watch the 1.9-meter-tall foreigners with double doors in the swimming pool. Drink a cup of coffee, a salad or yogurt. It's pleasing to the eye and in a great mood! Or it's also comfortable to have a few drinks in the breeze at night. Chinese people don't cheat Chinese people, sisters, just go!
There are also many kittens here. The cats are smart and clingy. When they see you have food, they will come to you and stick to you. They cheated all the eggs and meat in my salad!
The location is only a few hundred meters away from the entrance of the night market. Luang Prabang is not big, so you can go anywhere, which is very convenient.
Finally, let me talk about the staff. They are very friendly. Everyone smiles, which makes people feel good. The front desk can also exchange currency, which is very convenient.
In short, it is a super satisfactory experience. If I have the opportunity, I will come to Luang Prabang again for this place!

Pure luxury for Laos, near to many cafes, pubs eateries, bakeries, walk to the monk event, many temples and beautiful Buddha statues around. Quiet, very clean, large bathroom, balcony where I stayed on the second floor. Very comfortable bed, friendly staff.
Booked this after we got chased out by a nasty
Air bnb place called ZUNA. They wanted us out for a lovers tiff before 10pm saying we were too loud. The family lives right next door and you van hear everything, their walls are paper thin, dangerous toilet bowl on a platform in a tiny bathroom.
CCTV from the outside shoots into our room, illegal.
Pay a little more and get a great comfortable stay instead of being chased out when you are a payong guest.

Not much to say, which is rather positive. As advertised. The location was convenient without being crowded. The hotel itself was charming and relaxing. The restaurant offered a good mix of options with a wide range of affordable local dishes and some western alternatives. Both were good choices. The cleaning staff were efficient. And the service was great. There was always someone available to help, happily. The spa was surprisingly cheap for an in-house spa, but still maintained standards across the board. The shuttle, which never required any waiting time, was useful. I guess there was a bit to say, all positive. Would comfortably recommend.

Nestled in the heart of Luang Prabang's enchanting Old Town, Wisdom Mystery Hotel is a hidden gem along Phayameungchan Rd. Immerse yourself in the cultural tapestry of Laos, surrounded by the rich history of UNESCO-listed sites. The location, a stellar 5-star, ensures every corner explored is a journey through time. The staff's warm embrace, earning a solid 5-star, makes each guest feel like a cherished part of Luang Prabang's narrative. While the facilities garner 3 stars, this budget haven offers unparalleled value for money. Breakfast, a delightful 4-star affair, sets the tone for a day of exploration. A pocket-friendly masterpiece in the heart of heritage.
As the name may emphasis it’s a peaceful and relaxing place to be. Very friendly service, amazing breakfast and huge rooms. We very very happy to be there. The only issue is maybe that’s a bit outside of the downtown area, the hotel el offers a shuttle which is fine.

Review of Luang Prabang Village Hotel (Villa Wanika)
I had a wonderful stay at Luang Prabang Village Hotel (Villa Wanika). The staff were extremely helpful and made my visit comfortable and enjoyable.
I stayed in Room C3 downstairs, which was quiet, cool, and spacious. The room had everything I needed—a comfortable bed, fridge, coat hangers, and a nice shower with good-quality toiletries.
The breakfast was modest but satisfying, with croissants, fresh fruit, tea, and coffee—a simple but pleasant way to start the day.
The location was perfect—close to the Mekong River, Night Market, and Mount Phousi. It was also conveniently situated for watching the morning alms-giving procession, a beautiful cultural experience.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its great service, comfortable rooms, and excellent location. A lovely place to stay in Luang Prabang!
Very well located. And it's not far to the central night market and it's not noisy. The room has everything. It's convenient that the shower and toilet are two separate rooms.
There are many cafes with very tasty food nearby.
Breakfast at the hotel is a la carte. Coffee, tea, water - unlimited.
The price-quality ratio is excellent.

I recently stayed at Pakhongthong Villa in Luang Prabang, and it was an exceptional experience! The location is perfect, conveniently situated near key attractions and within easy walking distance to the city center. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They assisted us in booking a minivan to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfalls and also arranged a shuttle to the train station, which was very convenient. The villa itself is beautifully maintained, offering a peaceful and luxurious ambiance. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Luang Prabang!
Based on google map, the lane to this hotel is wrong. So i had to walk a bit after my taxi dropped me off at the wrong location. The staff at reception, Wan and Lo (sorry for wrong spelling) are absolutely wonderful. Pleasant and polite especially the male staff. Room was spacious, clean, comfortable and bathroom huge with beautiful floor tiles.
The only negative experience i had was at breakfast, when i asked a female staff which food had meat - i only take Halal or vegetarian food - and was told the spring rolls were vegetarian. When i bit into it, there was meat inside!! That was extremely upsetting for me!!
Suggestion- place labels at the serving dish to indicate vegetarian dishes or otherwise. There are many Europeans who are vegetarians too so it will be useful to have such labels.
Rooms should have a chair in it for those who want to do work at the tv counter.
Average stay comfortable rooms. Not tp much friendly staffs compare with other hotels in Lao, they provide motorcycle renting, day trips also.

NNuytsiaFloribundaOur stay had a lot of high points and a lot of low points.
Starting with the high points, the grounds and room were incredible. Our experience at the spa was one of the best we’ve had. The cocktails and Laos-style burger we had for lunch one day were phenomenal. The staff were charming and very accommodating.
However, there were a few aspects that were far below the experience expected of a 5 star hotel. First, cocktail service around the pool was abysmal. On almost every occasion we had to go searching for a staff member to take our order, and then the cocktails more often than not took more than half an hour to arrive. This is despite the fact that we seemed to be the only people ordering F&B at that time, i.e. they were not busy at all.
Second, the breakfast was a disappointment every day - we were told we could order eggs or noodles, and had to repeatedly press the staff to find out what type of eggs and noodles, and we only discovered on the last day that there was a menu with additional options. We ordered poached eggs on toast, and the eggs had not been drained of excess liquid, and the bread was entirely soaked through. An order of waffles took over an hour to come out - first it was delivered as a pancakes, and then they just forgot about it despite repeated follow ups. The “local” Laos options lacked flavor - very little of the herbs and spice that makes Laos food great. I think this and the pool service issue are primarily the result of a lack of training and instruction for staff - they were clearly doing their best, but did not know what to do.
Third, the pool area needs a lot more spent on maintenance. The decking is cracking and falling apart. The mosaic tiles in the pool are falling apart, A LOT of the tiles are missing, and I got a very large laceration on my forearm from the sharp edge of a tile sticking out. If this pool were in a western jurisdiction, it would not meet health and safety standards.
Fourth, the gym was not worth visiting if you want to lift weights. Possibly the worst weights offering I’ve seen for a hotel of that price and with that much space.
We want to reiterate how great and enthusiastic the staff were. I think this is primarily a management oversight, training, and maintenance capex issue.
GGuest UserIt's okay for the price~ I liked the balcony.
The bathroom and toilet are separate.
It's not completely clean, and you have to take that into account because it's an old building. The location is a bit far from the night market, but you can walk there, and I rented a scooter, so it wasn't difficult to get around.
GGuest UserVery friendly and helpful staff. Everytime I asked them something, they were more than willing to help in anyway they could. The room was lovely and very reasonably priced. The only very minor downside was that breakfast was a little bit limited for someone with quite a lot of food allergies, but the staff could make adaptions to the menu to try and cater for these. Would 100% recommend to anyone staying in Luang Prabang.
GGuest UserRelatively new hotel with beautiful and clean rooms in good location in Luang Prabang. The staff are friendly and helpful, at breakfast you can choose between different options. Water, coffee and tea are available free. Rollers, tours and transfers can also be booked directly on site. Wi-Fi could be a little better in the rooms. All in all a very good price-performance ratio and we would stay there again.
GGuest User“This hotel is fantastic! The room was incredibly clean, with every corner spotless. The bed linens and towels were pristine white, giving a very comfortable feel. The hotel’s location is also very convenient, close to the city center and major attractions, all within walking distance. There are also many restaurants and shops nearby, making it very convenient to get around. Highly recommend this hotel!”
KK.-The staffs are very friendly. Even though English is not their first language, they utilize translation app and enjoy the conversation with the guests. Very open-minded.
-The room is super clean.
-The location is a bit away from the historical area (30mins+ on foot) but you can enjoy the local life along the way to the area.
It was my first trip to Laos, and only for two days, but it became a very pleasant stay. Would love to visit again.
GGrandGrandMaHotel Name: Villa Monsone
Location: Luang Prabang
I had the privilege of spending an unforgettable holiday at Villa Monsone and I have the warmest praise for this hotel. First of all, the location of the hotel is ideal. Just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, I was able to explore the area's ancient temples, royal palaces and night markets. The surroundings of the hotel are pleasant, quiet and convenient.
Secondly, Villa Monsone is a wonderful building in itself. Every detail shows the care and taste of the hotel management team. I particularly enjoyed the hotel's swimming pool and terrace, which provided a peaceful and relaxing environment to enjoy the sun and views. The service is also impeccable. From the moment I arrived at the hotel, the staff gave me warm and thoughtful care. They were always ready to help and were always there to make sure my needs were met. Their professional quality and friendly attitude made me feel at home.

JJason2023Nice setting with lotus ponds and bridge, lots of trees, flowers, gravel winding paths and hidden seating areas.
The pool is small but had lots of available comfy seating and was very clean.
Breakfast is in a beautiful setting and the service and food were excellent. The menu has lots of options.
Excellent service from reception to housekeeping - the complimentary water, fruit baskets and night time cookies were appreciated.
Free bicycle hire and reception can organise trips.
The location is okay, a 5-10 minute walk to the main area but that gives you an experience of local life as you pass through the narrow streets.
There was some road noise - motorbikes etc but im not sure where you can avoid this in Luang Prabang or even SE Asia. If you are bothered by it, ear plugs will be useful.
No noise from any neighbours.
The room was a good size with a big balcony overlooking the gardens. Lots of stuff provided e.g toiletries, safe, tea, 3 in 1 coffee - you don't need to bring. (Cant remember seeing a razor but tbh hotel ones are never good so i bring my own).
TIP: try not to rely on ATMs here, the charges are expensive. Either bring your own currency and exchange at one of the banks here (i got a good rate) or bring Kip. Many places also accept Thai baht and some US $.
The hotel has water so being mosquito spray (housekeeping also offered this).
