Extremely clean, and they have a shuttle service to the airport. You can order food in the evening, and in the morning, there's a generous hotel buffet breakfast. The price is very reasonable, making it a super comfortable choice. (Didn't take photos of the hotel, but I did capture the new Sydney Fish Market, which was great!)
The place is relatively quiet. The room is very clean and tidy. Highly recommended for staying
The parking space is also very spacious. There are also warm lights in the bathroom. You won't feel cold when taking a shower in the winter. Highly recommended.
I had a really wonderful time in the great location of Beechworth. From Beechworth I drove to other great points of interest namely Yackandandah and Bright. I walked along the Canyon Walk in Bright, followed along the Beechworth Gorge and the Woolshed Falls.
The Sambell Lake had a very good walking track around it. Both Beechworth and Yackandandah had great shops and eateries. The Armour Motor Inn was very central for my 3 day stay and the host was very helpful.
A clean quiet older style motel, well-managed and excellent value. The hosts are friendly and welcoming and live on site. The rooms have a small fridge which is very handy and a split air conditioner which also works as an effective heater. Parking is outside your door and the WIFI is fast and reliable. We would happily stay here again.
Our room was on the second floor with a king-sized bed. The sofa bed needed to be made up by ourselves, and there was no duvet, only one blanket provided, with another blanket in the closet, which was generally sufficient. There was parking available in the yard. For the second-floor room, luggage had to be carried up an outdoor staircase. My friend stayed in a first-floor room with a queen-sized bed and a 0.9m bed. Their balcony opened directly onto the roadside, which felt a bit unsafe. A common characteristic of motels along the Great Ocean Road is the lack of curtains, with roller blinds used instead, which aren't great for blocking out light. Our room had an induction cooker and pots, but my friend's room didn't. At nearly 1500, it was also the most expensive accommodation on our Great Ocean Road trip.
I have stayed at several motels, this is my favorite. Although the boss and the couple are not Chinese, they are very warm and kind. Look at the horses we are interested in, and take the initiative to take the carrots and let us feed them. It was a simple motel, but the room was clean and stayed for two days. In the morning, I saw the boss picking up sheets. We took a child to sleep, okay, no extra bed and no money. Free parking at the hotel, there is a supermarket nearby, very convenient, it is recommended. There is a bug in the room. In the evening, let the husband kill the bug and you can sleep peacefully. Overall, I don’t want to hide it.
We stayed one night at the Sandpiper Motel in Apollo Bay during peak season. On the positive side, the room was exceptionally clean, and the embroidered details on the bedding, pillow slips, and face towel were a lovely touch that added a sense of care and thoughtfulness to the decor.
However, our stay was not without its issues. Room 5; Throughout the night, there was a persistent high-pitched noise whenever water was used in our block of rooms, which disrupted our sleep, not helpful if you are a light sleeper. This was particularly disappointing given the cost of over 500 NZD for one night.
Additionally, while the self-check-in process was efficient, the lack of any staff presence left the motel feeling impersonal and made it impossible to seek assistance when needed. For example, there was no way to address the plumbing issue or request additional items like more face towels during our stay.
While we appreciated the cleanliness and the attention to detail in the room design, these other factors made the experience less enjoyable than we had hoped. We hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests.

Perfect stay for a simple trip. Stayed at the single bed room. The room is small but just enough for my short stay. Room was clean & it has everything you expected for a budget hotel: Tea/coffee, milk on the fridge and toileteries. Wifi speed is good for browsing (Approx 40-50Mbps) The only downside is: Their hotel key is using old technology and easily demagnetised. I happen to put it next to my Airpods and it loses the magnetism.
I stayed in Box Hill motel between 3rd of Nov'23 - 5th of Nov'23. My husband and I arrived at Box Hill motel around 12-1pm. We were so exhausted as we took turn driving from Sydney - Melbourne. We drove from Sydney past midnight. Upon calling if we would be let in early, surprisingly it is allowed. Otherwise we would have slept in the car until check-in time if the room isn't ready yet. We got room no.1 and it was very clean. I didn't use the towel as I prefer to use my own towel, my husband also use his own towel. One of the hanging towel though had a snot on it and I put that towel aside despite we didn't use it. There were 3x plates in total and one of the plate was dirty and I assumed previous guest must have used this 1 plate and didn't wash it but instead just slipped it in between the clean plate. We used 2x plates for ourselves but I washed the 3x plates myself. Great Wifi speed too as I was able to complete a little bit of work from Room no.1. My parents always taught me to appreciate and respect people's places. Upon checking out, I saw Carol and OMG, she is so kind, friendly, down to earth and helpful. She was busy rolling people's luggage to their room. I remember my father always taught me the great businessman is not the one who always wanted to be served but the one who knew how to serve others first. There's a saying about ”servant leadership”. A great leader know how it feels to be at the bottom to observe, learn and serving others as well as better appreciate the top and experience various roles to understand the duties and responsibilities of each roles. THANK YOU Box hill motel team and Carol too for allowing us to stay at your beautiful clean and tidy place. We were able to sleep very soundly, hope nobody can hear us snoring :) I highly recommend Box Hill motel, Melbourne to anyone on a trip to Melbourne.
Hidden gem. This is now my go-to hotel near the airport whenever I need to stay overnight in Melbourne. Easy access, spacious and comfortable rooms, and a good breakfast.

I had a great stay at Best Western Crystal Inn. At first, I was told check-in was only after 2pm, but later the staff kindly called me and said I could check in early. That was very helpful! There is free parking on the ground floor, and my room was on the first floor, so it was quiet with no noise from cars. The location is very convenient — just a 10-minute drive to the City Centre. The room was big and comfortable, and the bathroom was especially large and clean. Thank you to the friendly staff for the good service!
I had a really comfortable stay at this motel. The room was clean, spacious, and surprisingly quiet considering the location. The bed was comfortable, and all basic amenities were provided. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially during check-in. Parking was easy, and the area felt safe. For the price, this motel genuinely exceeded expectations. I’d definitely stay here again.
Nice and clean, convenient pitt stop for late evening travelling to/from philip island to catch the penguin parade. Comfy bed with spacious room, and good quality toiletries.
