GGuest UserMy overall stay exceeded expectations. The hotel boasts an excellent location with convenient access to transportation. The room was spacious, bright, and very clean, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable. The temperature and humidity inside were just right. The facilities were comprehensive; a soak in the hot springs was incredibly relaxing and helped ease the fatigue after hiking. The service was meticulous, thoughtful, and prompt. I had a very pleasant stay throughout my trip and would give it five stars. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Changbai Mountain. The service was very attentive, and they even gave me a small gift.

PPupulanThis is an excellent hotel with incredibly warm and attentive service!
Firstly, it's the closest hotel to the old mountain gate, just a 2-minute walk away, so we didn't have to queue at all during the National Day holiday.
Secondly, they offer high-speed rail pick-up and drop-off throughout our stay, and can also take us to nearby attractions.
Thirdly, the breakfast was amazing! The restaurant staff were very enthusiastic and proactively asked if we needed anything. The ginseng chicken soup, noodles, dumplings, and wontons were all delicious and plentiful, perfect for us southerners.
Fourthly, a dedicated butler was provided. Butler Li Chao was incredibly responsible and always ready to help with anything.
Fifthly, all the front desk staff were wonderful. They helped with our luggage and reservations, and the service was exceptional. They even upgraded us to a family room when they saw I was traveling with two elderly family members, which I really appreciate.
Sixthly, the hot springs were superb, and we could book them anytime.
Seventhly, there's a food court right next door, making dining very convenient. The stone pot bibimbap, stir-fried pork with kimchi, and BBQ were all delicious.
Eighthly, the hotel provided complimentary access to the Volcanic Stone Forest attraction, river trekking, and ginseng digging, all of which were a lot of fun and suitable for the whole family.
My family had a fantastic time, and we'll definitely stay here again on our next trip to Changbai Mountain.

Arrival & First Sniff
This old dog finally flopped down in Jilin City, relieved to rest my paws at the grandly named Song Jiang Bonanza Winning Hotel. “Winning,” I thought—until my non-smoking room greeted me with a stale tobacco haze. One whiff and I nearly cancelled the stay on the spot.
Room Rescue
Cue Mr Hong Dejian—calm, English-speaking, and clutching the keys to redemption. He patiently showed me alternative rooms until we found one that didn’t smell like a poker night. Had I left, I would’ve missed what came next.
Comfort Food = Home
Dinner delivered a miracle: stewed chicken with potatoes and mushrooms. One bite and—boom—mummy’s cooking. After days on the road, I finally found food in China that tasted like home. Tail wagging resumed.
Care Beyond the Call
Mr Hong returned with a portable heater, pointed out city landmarks, and even taught me how to take a non-reflective photo (yes, this dog learns fast). His easy friendliness softened the edges of dirty window panes and mostly Mandarin-only staff. I even showed him the ink-black towel after wiping the window—evidence, not barking.
Menu Meltdown & A Win
At the restaurant, I was handed a Chinese-only menu after saying I don’t speak Mandarin. I hit the roof. To their credit, reception listened: I received a call from the lady boss, and the issue was acknowledged. Then a hero appeared—the restaurant lady, who patiently translated dish names so I could choose lunch and dinner without guesswork. Gold bone earned.
City Interlude: Jilin Catholic Church
Between meals and meetings, I visited Jilin Catholic Church (吉林耶稣圣心堂)—a quiet pause from hotel hiccups. The church offered a moment of stillness, a reminder that even on a bumpy stay, the city holds pockets of grace.
Logistics That Worked
Back at the desk, the reception lady manager efficiently arranged my transport to Wusong Island—quick, competent, and reassuring.
Breakfast & The Fine Print
Breakfast surprised me in the best way: healthy, balanced, a thoughtful mix of local and Western dishes. One final bone to chew—early booking didn’t pay off as prices dropped later. A truly Winning Hotel would honour the lower rate at check-in.
Verdict
Despite communication bumps, this is a solid winter hideout: good Songhua River views, comforting food, and fast service when it counts. It really does take one good sheep—thank you, Mr Hong—to dim the rest of the flaws.

GGuest UserDuring my stay at the hotel, the service was excellent, especially the concierge, Xiao Hui. He was incredibly helpful, answering all our questions and taking care of every detail – a huge thank you to him! Also, the young lady at the front desk on the night shift on the 19th was very enthusiastic. However, I have to complain about the Chinese restaurant. My dad took my child there and ordered black truffle fried rice and stir-fried beef. I don't know if it was because they ordered too little, but the food never came. When they asked a female server about it, her attitude was extremely dismissive, just saying, ”Just wait!” I'm not sure if she wasn't properly trained or if she was just being selective with customers. Later, they asked a manager, who also couldn't give a definitive answer. In the end, they just ordered takeout to the room. Besides this one issue, everything else was great.

GGuest UserThe owner was very hospitable, and there were always drivers available at the entrance who were ready to answer any questions or help with travel plans. The aunties at the hot springs were also very warm and helped with towels. The indoor bath was cleaned daily, and overall, everything was quite good. The only issue was that the toilet wasn't clean upon check-in, but the front desk attendant came quickly to address it.
Overall, it was a good experience, and I recommend it.

GGuest UserThe decoration looks quite new, but it's a bit rough. The shower room leaks a little. The breakfast is relatively simple. The waiters are very nice and there is a washing machine and dryer. There is no charge for parking anywhere in Hunchun except at the high-speed rail station. There are a lot of Russians in the hotel, which is quite harmonious. When going to Fangchuan, it is necessary to first visit the Zhanggufeng Incident Memorial Hall, which is helpful for visiting Fangchuan Scenic Area. At a glance, you can see the train from Russia to North Korea. Of course, if you have time, it would be a good idea to take a look at the various lifestyles of North Koreans.

On the first floor, there's free coffee and a Korean ethnic clothing experience. For extended stays, they offer room cleaning, which was a nice touch. Overall, my experience was excellent! 👍🏻

AAreaTimeLocated within the Endourie scenic area, this isn't just a regular guesthouse; it's a sprawling property with several wooden houses. The location is absolutely fantastic – no matter which entrance of Endourie you use, you'll reach it quickly. It's convenient for getting around, yet surprisingly peaceful, ensuring a quiet and restful night's sleep. The service is excellent; they offer shuttle transfers from the scenic area entrance and can arrange transportation to Changbai Mountain. Breakfast is a highlight, with a wide variety and a different local specialty each day, like steamed buns with vegetables or Korean bibimbap. The rooms are spacious and very clean, though there are slight gaps in the doorframes which occasionally let in small insects – but that's to be expected in a mountain setting. Overall, I'm very satisfied and would recommend it to friends and family.

Ffayfay223The room was spacious, fulfilling my child's wish to sleep on the top bunk. The environment is beautiful, and the aesthetics of all the promotional materials, road signs, and logo designs are top-notch. The complimentary benefits and activities were so numerous we couldn't even use them all. The evening activities were abundant, and the flow of movement was well-planned. Even if we missed a shuttle, they would arrange an alternative vehicle for us. After the last shuttle from the hot springs, you could rent a scooter, and at other times, the shuttle service was very prompt. The shuttle from Songguo Li was always on time as it's the starting point. We only ate at Li Liangui inside the resort; for other meals, we called nearby restaurants that offered free pickup and drop-off, and the food was delicious and affordable. Oh, and when I booked the hotel, rafting wasn't listed as a benefit, but we actually received a complimentary Red Willow Rafting experience. To get to the South Slope, we asked the front desk to arrange a private car, and the driver was reliable and the price fair. Overall, I would recommend Huamei Shengdi to my friends. My only complaint is that there are too few washing machines; we could never get one.

GGuest UserThe room was incredibly spacious, which I really appreciated! Especially when the afternoon sun streamed in upon arrival, it felt wonderful. The small bed's mattress was a bit firm but perfectly fine for sleeping. The hot springs were very crowded, so soaking in the room's bathtub was a good alternative. The staff were all very welcoming. The breakfast selection wasn't super extensive, but it depends on your taste; you'll definitely get enough to eat. The only issue was the weak air conditioning in the breakfast area, though the room's AC was excellent. The coffee in the lobby was quite good, worth trying. Parking was convenient, with plenty of space right out front.
