Hotel Amalia is undergoing some renovations, but was still excellent in all aspects. Location is great for exploring Athens. Walking distance to Acropolis, Agora, Plaka. Bus or metro stations just outside, including bus or metro to airport. Avoid taxis in Athens if possible. They con and cheat tourists.
The hotel is very clean and the waiters are very considerate. My husband caught a cold and had a fever on the second day after checking in. The hotel staff took the initiative to call and ask if he needed help. On the last day of checkout, they also asked if he had recovered. There are also a variety of beautiful desserts in the hotel lobby for guests to taste. The hotel is also very conveniently located. It is within walking distance to various important attractions. There are also many restaurants and bars nearby. It is worth mentioning that the hotel's breakfast is very delicious. If you come to Athens again, the dolli is definitely the best choice!
We recently stayed here and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment wr arrived. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The location was great, close to everything we wanted to see and do. The breakfast buffet was great with plenty of choices. I highly recommend staying here for a comfortable and enjoyable stay while in Greece. There are a maze of options but you will do yourself a favour by staying here.
I went to Greece to celebrate my third anniversary with my boyfriend. Because last time I stayed at one&only in Montenegro, it was quite comfortable. Mainly because it was super beautiful. This time I chose O&O for four nights in Athens. Let me start with the recommendation index of five stars! The existence of a super surprise is the first choice O&O in Athens. After all, compared with Aman, the price/performance ratio is still there!
The location of the hotel is not in the city of Greece. It takes about 40 minutes to get to the Acropolis or the temple by taxi. It costs about 40 euros. It is recommended that if you want to go to the city center, it is best to make it a one-day trip. Otherwise, it will be quite a torturous journey to the airport if you are caught in traffic jams every day. It takes about 30-40 minutes, but there are commercial streets near the hotel that take about 5 minutes by taxi, and there are restaurants and shops, so you don’t have to worry about being bored!
The room type I booked is a king bed with sea view. The price per night is about 650 pounds. There is a discount for staying for three consecutive nights! Before going, I sent an email to the hotel in advance to communicate that I had been there for the anniversary. As soon as you enter the hotel, every staff member will say happy anniversary to you, which is really warm! Maybe it was too late after arriving at the hotel? ? There are no queen beds, only twin beds➕We just had our anniversary and they upgraded us to a bungalow of 1,500 pounds per night! No matter which room type you choose, there will be a separate butler when you check in. Use whagsapp to contact us. If you have any needs, just send a message directly and they will try their best to satisfy you!
This room type is a small villa similar to a courtyard. Each room has its own swimming pool. However, when I went there, the water was so cold that I couldn't swim at all.
We went out for dinner on the anniversary day and it was a great surprise when we came back. They prepared anniversary cakes and champagne for us. Zundu was beautiful!
The scenery is really beautiful! By the way, I also took a look at kea island O&O. It won’t open until the beginning of April. I plan to go there for my birthday!
This is strictly the third time I have stayed here. Everything is great and artistic. First of all, the room is clean and hygienic, the bed is comfortable, and the room service cleans every afternoon. The downside is that the supplies are often missing, such as sometimes forgetting the bathroom mat, sometimes not replenishing coffee and tea bags. What is worth praising is that the room staff are very warm and polite. As for breakfast, there are many varieties of milk, yogurt, bread, pastries, cheese, vegetables, fruits, bacon, desserts, etc. Every morning, you can sit comfortably for an hour and slowly drink two cups of tea. This is the most comfortable time of the day. One of the things I like most about this hotel is that they have a large lounge, which is like a small museum. It is very comfortable to sit there, and there are many Chinese elements there.
Although it is close to station like 7mins walk, the area is horrible, poor district, smelly across to the street with very nice bakery.
Hotel breakfast is very good.
Room size is ok.
Many business related people are in the lobby (very noisy) and it takes long time to check in or ask one question. Receptionist - very poor English!
Construction noisy in afternoon (2-4pm)
Gym and Spa both are old and dirty! Guess that’s athen’s level.
It's pretty good, although it's far worse than in China, but fortunately there's a beach right outside, the beautiful and quiet beach is very convenient, the bar street at night is pretty good, it's worth another visit
We were invited to a wedding on the Athenian Riviera. We chose a Divani first location and amenities. Unfortunate, it is one of those prices hotels in the area. They also charged us €20 do use the gym and €50 to use the indoor massage therapy pool. I thought that was very expensive and should be included in the package. There is a free breakfast Buffet every morning. Nothing too extraordinary as the Greeks do not have big breakfast us as do the Americans.
The hotel has a postcard-like view. The average-tasting white meals and the same old breakfast options (fried eggs, scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict, omelettes, steamed eggs...) are simply the Auschwitz of eggs. But believe me, when you enjoy all this in the morning breeze of the Aegean Sea and the sunset, you will forgive everything. The hotel has a Michelin restaurant, but it does not accept children under 12 years old, so we were unable to go. I recommend the hotel's Restaurant 37, which is like Yao Ming among dwarfs and Liu Xiang among lame legs. But if I come to Athens again, I will bring my Master Kong beef noodles and stay at the Royal Palace Four Seasons again, because the moment you arrive at the hotel lobby, you will understand the tenderness and gentleness of the Aegean Sea.
Had a few hours between connecting flights from Athens airport, so booking a night at the Sofitel was the best option to avoid non-hotel room surprises and miscommunication with apartment owners after a 14 hour flight. The distance from the terminal gates was literally across the street which was what I had hoped for.
The cons:
I came in with a 25Kg suitcase which was visually apparently heavy after a long flight and the hotel booked me the farthest room on my floor. Ok, no big deal. I’m young and strong.
The first thing I wanted to do was just lie down on the bed to unwind after a long flight. I pulled up the tucked blanket to find that the bed sheets were stained near the pillows. Not something I would expect from a luxury hotel. Now I’m thinking if the sheets were even clean and what was the nature of the stains. Being extremely tired, I let it go and slept far from the stains.
Went to take a shower. Two minutes in, I noticed the water not draining and water level rising. Had to shorten my shower time and abort with soapy feet to let the water drain before flooding the shower.
Exited the room in the morning for my flight and noticed that the door was actually not locked while I was sleeping because the latch was stuck in the door.
I feel that I would have just left the hotel a note on the shower and door and not write this review but the stained bed cover is unacceptable for the price I paid.

KkwanIt's at the center of Athens and so the famous tourist spots are accessible by foot. On the same street of this hotel there are plenty of restaurants and bars. Good value for all the convenience!
GGuest UserThis is the perfect hotel for someone who’s spending a bit more time in Athens since it has a fridge, laundry machine, etc. really nice stay, clean and comfy, would def come back
GGuest UserBecause the flight was delayed, we had to stay in Athens for one more night. We chose to stay at the Seaside Hotel again without hesitation. This time we chose a suite with two rooms, two bathrooms, a twin bed and a sofa bed. It was clean and comfortable. It is about 25 minutes away from the airport by car. You need to book a car in advance. It is not convenient to take a taxi.
LLdesierra Inma Von ParkerI had an excellent stay at this hotel! The check-in process was smooth and welcoming. Although the room was not as large as some other hotels, it was very comfortable and well-maintained. The location is fantastic—just steps away from the Metaxourghio metro station, making it incredibly easy to get around. It’s only a few stops to Syntagma Square, where you can enjoy a lovely walk through the pedestrian street to Monastiraki. The breakfast was outstanding, offering a variety of delicious options to start the day. The staff were exceptionally helpful and even assisted us in arranging a taxi to the bus station. I highly recommend this hotel for its convenience, great service, and excellent breakfast!

Location: Outside of “central” Athens but easily connected by metro & buses. Kifisia is gorgeous, safe, filled with high end boutiques, restaurants + cafes.
Room/Ambience: Hotel itself is stunning + very relaxing vibe. Decor details incredible as expected of a boutique hotel of this nature.
Food: Very good selection of hot + cold, plus actual barista coffee. Do not expect American style breakfast - this is Europe after all. We did not eat lunch or dinner but the menus looked great and was filled with locals in the evening.
Service: Although reception staff were sufficiently friendly, service very lacking for a high end boutique hotel. It was 26 degrees celsius every day while in Athens. Not prior to our stay, nor during check-in did anyone advise us that the pool was closed likely until end of May. This is not advertised on any booking platform, or on the hotel website, which was very disappointing. We sat in the pool lounge chairs for over two hours (staff saw us as the restaurant is immediately adjacent). Nobody offered us pool towels to lie on, or if we wanted to order any drinks or food. My partner had to get dressed, go to reception and ask. They didn’t even offer to clean the pool given the hot weather made it ready for use. It really put a downer on our stay, and why we opted not to have dinner at the hotel restaurant. Similar experience at breakfast; nobody offered us coffee orders, we heard someone else order and realised it was available.

KK_tabiThe location was good as it was close to the Parthenon and within walking distance to the nearest station, but the view from the room was so close to the building next door that I couldn't see the night view. That was the only disappointing part. It was great to be able to see the Parthenon and the night view from the rooftop.
The room was clean and I stayed there for two days, and I was happy that they cleaned the room between days.
He also spoke English, so he was kind enough to call me a taxi.
GGuest UserHighlights: beautiful views of acropolis and surrounding area from rooftop bar/restaurant space (also where breakfast served), buffet of good standard and restaurant staff very polite and a credit to the hotel.
Improvements: reception staff generally very helpful but one particular staff member was not forthcoming with information/recommendations for restaurants/ details regarding late check out - we were always referred to come back later/following day to reception to ask someone else; when same questions asked later to a different member of staff, they were more than happy to help with all enquiries.
Room: no ‘do not disturb’ sign available, housekeeping knocked on room at 9am every day, which woke us up; also housekeeping entering room after knocking on door without waiting for guests to respond; need some adjustments to respect privacy or guests; hotel corridors are very stuffy even in winter time
Overall: a very pleasant stay
PPuay Teck OngThe exterior of the hotel look inviting; however when we walked through the front door you can feel the heavy curtain around the lobby have not been clean for long time. All the sofa in the lobby are covered with some sort of clothes I guess it is to cover the old and uninviting sight. The check in process was straight forward and friendly.
None of the light on the stairs are working and I had to use the flash light on my phone to light a path up and down the stairs, could be dangerous if you need to evacuate the hotel quickly.
The room door has key card slot but I guess it is broken as I needed a physical key to unlock the room door and a keycard to turn on the electricity, the room size is good and high ceiling. The bathroom has no hook for the handheld shower head so not so convenient to have a shower, the water also not always hot enough.
The air conditioner was blowing warm air even though the dial was set to cold and it made the room so more warmer and uncomfortable to sleep. The hotel reviews seem to suggest this is one of the common issue people has been complaining about for more than 10 years!!!! I ended up open all the windows to cool the room down and this invited traffic noise all night long.
The hotel has been neglected for way too many years and surprisingly still in business????
XXiaoxiaoxiaoxiaomaoThe hotel has a very good view. The rooms on the 6th and 7th floors are very good, while those on the 2nd to 5th floors are just average. We stayed on the 6th floor, and the room was very large, with a direct view of the Acropolis. The only drawback is that the hot water is heated by the sun. If there is no hot water in the shower, you can only turn on the switch and wait for 30 minutes before hot water comes.
