HOTEL MYSTAYS PREMIER Kanazawa – My Absolute Favourite of My 2026 Japan Trip!
I stayed at HOTEL MYSTAYS Premier Kanazawa for three nights, and it ended up being my favourite hotel of my entire trip. The room was extremely clean and very spacious — at 32 sqm, it really was much larger than most hotels in Japan for the price paid and was very comfortable for a longer stay.
The pricing was also very affordable for the space, quality, and comfort provided, making it excellent value for money. Service from the staff was also excellent — friendly, professional, and always helpful whenever we needed assistance.
There is a bathtub provided with bath salts given at the front desk
Food: I also tried the Kanazawa Gozen (last pic) recommended by the hotel, and it was fantastic. At 3,500 yen, it was well worth the price and a great way to experience local cuisine without leaving the hotel.
Location: 5 mins walk from JR Kanazawa Station exit, pretty straightforward, with an underground walkway, which is noticeable after exiting and turning left.
Overall, an outstanding stay and easily my top hotel choice during this trip. I truly hope to return and stay here again in the future.
One of my favorite hotels during this trip!
**Ambiance:** Even though it's an older hotel built in the last century, both the hard furnishings and soft decor are incredibly well-maintained. While the style might be a bit retro, it's tastefully done. The room was over 30 square meters, which is quite spacious for Japan.
**Cleanliness:** Virtually spotless.
**Facilities:** Didn't have time to visit the lounge or bar to enjoy the city views. I wish there was a gym, or at least I didn't see one available.
**Breakfast:** Excellent! They offer both Japanese and buffet options. The buffet included sashimi and seafood rice bowls, freshly made omelets, and French toast. If you stay here, you absolutely *must* experience the breakfast. I had three full plates!
**Service:** Outstanding. After check-in, we were rushing to go eat, and they took care of putting our luggage in the room for us. When getting a taxi, a doorman opened the door and assisted us.
My time in Kanazawa was a bit short this trip, so I definitely need to stay at this Nikko hotel again.
Although the room is 19sqm, it was enough for 3 of us. The bathroom was a good size. The location was good, 15 min walk from kenroku-en. There was free flow drinks at the cafe from 4-8pm.. However, as our room was on 2nd floor, and next to the small lane, with many pubs, it was quite noisy through the night.
This accommodation is in the center of Kanazawa, very convenient to travel to any part of Kanazawa.
Just 5 mins walk to the Omicho Market, 7 mins to the Kanazawa park.
The lighting inside the accomodation is pretty fancy, room is super comfort.
But our room supposed to have a washing machine, but it is out of order and we need to use the common one, and it is always occupied by someone even they finish washing but not taking their clothes out...
All receptionists are very friendly, we had parking problems and they are super willing to help!
Will stay again in the future!
This hotel is quite basic, similar to an economy hotel in China. The room isn't very spacious, but the details are well-thought-out, and all necessary amenities are available. The hotel's main advantage is its incredibly convenient location; just step out the door to the left, and you're at Kanazawa train station. The ginkgo trees lining the streets in late autumn offer a charming view, making travel very easy. I noticed many domestic business travelers and older students staying there. The hotel has a public bathhouse accessible with your room card, but we were too exhausted from sightseeing every day to try it. Overall, this hotel isn't for a relaxing 'lie-flat' stay, but for those who frequently visit attractions, its location and value for money make it a pretty good choice.
This is my second stay here. Back in '23, I only stayed one night but was very impressed, so this time I booked four! The breakfast is delicious, and the location is super convenient for me as I travel by Shinkansen to various places. Even on rainy days, there's plenty of good food and shopping right at the station. The room is spacious and offers great value for money. They even have Refa hair dryers and curling irons. The self-service amenities on the first floor are very handy. I've stayed at several Daiwa hotels in different cities and haven't had a bad experience yet; Kanazawa and Kagoshima Tenmonkan are my favorites.
The hotel boasts an excellent location, just an 8-minute walk from Kanazawa Station. It features a modern design, and the rooms are quite spacious with comfortable mattresses, easily accommodating two open 28-inch suitcases. The bathroom has a practical wet/dry separation and is impeccably clean. A 7-Eleven located right downstairs adds to the convenience, making it easy to grab anything you might need.
The hotel was perfect; the rooms were spacious, and breakfast was included with check-in. I didn't go downstairs for breakfast until 8:30 am and didn't encounter any crowds.
The hotel provides a shuttle bus service to and from Kanazawa Station, which is very convenient. The boarding point at Kanazawa Station is in the group bus area. If you're unsure where to catch the shuttle bus when you first arrive in Kanazawa, you can refer to the location and pick-up times in the pictures.
Hotel is so great I will definitely come back to Kanazawa one day and stay here. The room is spacious enough for 3 of us. They provided every amenities we needed including ironing equipment. We can dry our clothes in the bathroom. Staff are very friendly even though my Japanese skills are so bad. We were a bit unlucky due to the weather, there was hailing when we were there but other that it's all good. Most importantly, the hotel is right next to the Kanazawa station and ease us on our movement around. Thank you for the great service I will definitely come back.
i booked a single room for 3 nights. First thing first, the breakfast buffet was unbeatable for the price I paid. I had good breakfast to last me till late afternoon.
Next, the hotel was super clean. I am a 'hygiene freak', so much so that I had to wipe the table to be sure of its cleanliness and free from grease, etc. The wet wipes remained clean after wiping few rounds!
The hotel was less than 5 minutes walk exiting JR station.
Points to take note are the shower area is tight and I hit the wall few times, and walking to the hotel under windy and rainy condition must have a sturdy umbro and still cross the road walking close to traffic.
Overall, this hotel surpassed mamy hotels I stayed in Japan for its value to price!!!

CCasper WongA more traditional kind of hotel targeting a variety of travellers. Close to the Kanazawa Station, so it is a convenient location for getting to various spots. Late checkout available for IHG members
GGuest UserThis was a truly satisfying stay. Before checking in, I had visited Shirakawa-go and was a little disappointed not to see any snow. But then, on my first morning at the hotel, I pulled back the curtains to find it snowing heavily! It was absolutely amazing. I decided right then and there not to go anywhere and just enjoy the snow from the hotel.
The hotel is a bit older, but the room was clean and tidy. I had upgraded my room, and it wasn't small at all. The area mentioned in the description probably just refers to the room itself, but the entryway was also very spacious, allowing me to easily open my large luggage. The indoor balcony in front was also quite large, perfect for a family to sit and enjoy the snow.
The floor-to-ceiling windows offered direct mountain views, with the river flowing right below. The large floor-to-ceiling windows in the restaurant lobby were even more stunning – it was wonderful to enjoy the snow while dining.
Even the outdoor onsen provided beautiful views of the snow and river while soaking. The best part was how few people there were; both times, it was just me and my daughter, so there was no need to book a private onsen.
Behind the hotel, there's a walking trail. We explored it that day, and while the heavy snow made it a bit challenging to walk, it was incredibly beautiful and completely deserted. Every photo we took was a scenic masterpiece. Our shoes and socks got wet on the way back, but thankfully, we didn't feel cold.
There are convenience stores and supermarkets nearby, making it very convenient to buy food and other necessities. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
The staff were also very friendly. Although most of them didn't speak English, they used translation software, so communication was just a bit slow.
GGuest UserThe hotel's overall design is stunning, and the traditional Japanese ambiance envelops you from the moment you step through the door. The use of gold, red, and black makes the entire hotel feel elegant, dignified, and luxurious. The products in the on-site gift shop are also very unique and beautiful, making you want to buy them, and they aren't even particularly expensive.
WwendyliuyiOverall, a very satisfying hotel experience.
**Location:** Extremely convenient, just a 3-minute walk from Kanazawa Station. It was great to be able to drop off shopping anytime, and there's a mall right outside.
**Room:** Very spacious and clean. Since I booked for two adults and one child, they had all three beds made up, which shows great attention to detail. There's also a simple kitchenette, though we didn't use it, and a very convenient dining table.
**Facilities:** The hotel has public coin-operated washers and dryers, which were usually free during the day. There's also a gym next door.
**Dining:** The breakfast was quite substantial, with both hot and cold options. What was really nice was that from after breakfast until evening, there's complimentary tea, coffee, and even alcoholic beverages in the lobby. The lobby also has a 24-hour self-service convenience store.
AAnonymous UserExcellent hotel with a beautiful view from the window. The hotel has a separate entrance, located next to Hotel Forza (which is across the street). Google Maps shows the entrance through the shopping center, which is also accessible, but you'd have to walk through the entire store to get to the elevator. The reception is on the 16th floor. The staff were very polite and helpful with everything; the rooms had all the necessary amenities.
GGuest UserThis place is just a 5-6 minute walk to Kanazawa jr station and the bus terminal. The location is fantastic.
There is all the amenities you need like coin laundry, and ice machine. The staff are wonderful and helped me to correctly fill out the forms to mail a package to my teacher staying in japan.
This is my second stay with the hotel franchise in kanazawa- i stayed in their other hotel more in the town centre previously. They both smelled amazing. I don’t know what they use, but they have a specific scent that they make for their hotels. Apparently Kanazawa also has a tradition of incense and so they’ve incorporated a signature scent based on it. I wish I could buy it tbh- so Koko staff- if you see this, please make it an item you sell!
The rooms are a good size, for Japan, and the bathtub in the room is MASSIVE. Sadly I dont have photos as I forgot to take them.
They have a lovely outdoor on the top floor as well, where you can sip a drink and enjoy the view which i do have photos of.
DDodoandrobinThe hotel is old and the room is clean but not well cleaned especially the corners of the room. The room is old and dull and the toilet smells bad. The balcony is covered with bamboo screen which make hard to see the outside. We can see the balcony is not well cleaned and the rooftop of the building is not well cleaned, too. If they clean the balcony and rooftop it will make a big difference. The fence at the balcony is worn out if they repainted it,it will be very beautiful seeing from the inside. I dont care if the building is old but they should keep it well cleaned and more presentable and im sure people will come again. The food is good and the bathing facilities is also good but its too hot no air at all, i didnt stay long because i cant breath i wish they open the window for fresh air to come. the atmosphere from the window the dried mold of the rooftop and the worn out of the balcony fence should be fix.The place is very quiet and you can really relax. The main entrance and ground floor is renovated and its nice and modern. The service is good too but the clerks are not lively they should be more cheerful.
If the room is not dull and the balcony and rooftop is clean i want to stay again but sorry i wont stay here again.
Thank you for your service and Goodluck.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located just to the left of the JR Kanazawa Station East Exit (towards Kenroku-en Garden), right next to a shopping mall. After crossing a small road and turning left, you'll see it immediately. They offer daily towel changes and trash removal, and bed sheets are changed every three days. The room size is also good. My only minor issue was a low, rumbling noise that seemed to surround the room, which stopped around 11 PM and started again at 7 or 8 AM. It's nice that you can crack open the window for ventilation. There are vending machines and a microwave on the 8th floor, which is very convenient. It's also super convenient for travelers with luggage.
