They have a great location with lots of potential but there were several issues. The privacy lock on the door was busted, the TV didn't get any channels, there's no soap holder in the shower so that inconvenient. The walls are very thin so you hear everything from the surrounding rooms including the kid tapping at 4am. The bed smelled like urine. The vanity counter top was busted. The restaurant requires reservations for dinner which isn't a problem as they asked upon checkin however the food was severely lacking. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and it was burned, like black in places burned. Also, it had no seasoning and they didn't bother trimming the fat off the chicken. Finally the bartender didn't even know how to make a whiskey and coke, he brought my drink out full to the brim and then asked if I wanted ice. He brought out some ice but with the drink so full it made a mess.
Reception is unfriendly - we arrived at 5:04 p.m. and had to call because reception is open until 5 p.m. So we had to call because we couldn't find the email (about opening the gate and other instructions). She seemed very annoyed! The house and the location are very nice and clean. But also showing its age - the kitchen and bathroom are in need of renovation.
I booked to 2 bedrooms apartment. It was great. Size is a bit small but sleep was good.
Vicky the manager is amazing. She is very friendly and helpful! Her service is impeccable. We stayed on Dec 25 and 26. She brought our breakfast to our apartment in time and we’ll prepared!
The place is near to The Tongariro National Park.
Overall a great stay!
Stayed 1 night with my wife, room was clean and comfortable, the view was beautiful, food and staff was perfect. Plenty of thing to do we did the walks next time mountain biking Would I go back and recommend to friends and family HELL yes I loved staying there and will be going back soon.
The price is cheap, the location is good, the cleanliness is good, and there is a washing machine and a dryer in the room. I was a little worried about the quality, but it was much better than expected. Recommended
We enjoyed our one night stay. It was easy to locate the hotel. The front desk manager was courteous and friendly and helpful.
The hotel room was cozy, clean and spacious. We had a nice view of Palmy from the hotel room. There was an AC, a mini fridge, hot water, kettle, coffee, black tea, flavoured tea, milk and sugar available in the room. Unfortunately, you have to bring your own bottle of water, toothbrush & toothpaste. No hairdryer. Very comfortable bed & mattress. There's also a gymnastic and laundry facility available. Parking facility was available for the hotel's customers.
Pak n Save was just across the street. There was also Burger King, Thai restaurants, a pub and some other eating spot nearby. There was breakfast and dinner available upon purchase at the hotel.
Part of the hotel is under renovation. We reached there in the late afternoon and left around 10 a.m so most probably, this could be the reason we didn't hear any noise. We really wish we could stay more than a night and get the chance to explore Palmy a bit more.

We had a great stay! Front desk was friendly and helpful. The rooms and the place was clean. We arrived at the start of winter season, not too many guests so we had the place almost to ourselves. The amenities was great, they had a lot of DVDs for entertainment, and the common kitchen was clean and well maintained. We also ate at the cafe which was delicious. The location was walking distance to the groceries, the tourist information center and other eateries. Overall a great stay!
If you are looking for a very new and trendy place to stay,
This is not necessarily your first choice.
It is a very traditional building, but it is very well maintained!
The interior is very clean and comfortable, and the space is enough.
The reception was also very good.
If you have the opportunity, you will definitely choose again!

GGuest UserThe manager was incredibly kind and friendly. The room condition was excellent; upon our evening arrival, the manager had thoughtfully pre-heated the room for us. The spacious bathroom, with safety bars for seniors/mobility impaired, was impressive. Our children enjoyed Netflix. Breakfast, served personally by the manager from 7:30 AM, was delicious, and the warm hospitality in the quaint dining area created a memorable experience for our family. Special thanks to the adorable Lucky and to the manager for these precious memories. We will definitely visit again.
GGuest UserThe only problem we had was the room was double booked for what ever reason . We require a refund for the second room as it was cancelled by the Coachman.

RRobertI stopped here just because I was tired of driving. There are a bunch of restaurants around and a supermarket, so in that sense, the location is good, but I don't think there is much interesting in the proximity.
The room was great: very clean, spacious, the shower was clean and the towels smelled fresh. Even the shampoo, conditioner and bodywash were very nice, not like the regular cheap stuff you get. So all in all a great place to have a rest.
GgzpeterFacilities: This may be the largest hotel in the town of Tongariro Volcano, with ample parking 🅿️, a restaurant (the taste is good), and a bar.
Environment: There is a gas station in the town, with a small supermarket attached. The oil and commodity prices are relatively high. The town is not big, there are few people, and it is quiet. You can see the crater in the distance outside the hotel door and the restaurant.
Hygiene: The room is a loft, the area is not large, the bathroom is small, and there is no kitchenware in the room for cooking.
All in all, for the magnificent volcano hiking, there seems to be not much choice except staying here, but it is also a two-night stay, it will not be too difficult, it is good
AAnonymous UserHello to the hotel staff at reception, thank you soo much ,for your kindness and warm welcome. You very polite and very helpful. The rooms were fabulous and I just loved the kitchen ...as it saved me from buying takeaway which I dislike as it's unhealthy and expensive...my kids n.my husb ...we ALL LOVE HOME COOKED MEALS ,ESP when on a vacation.God bless you my dear for being so supportive ..
GGuest UserThe grandfathers and grandmothers at the front desk are very enthusiastic, the oversized jacuzzi, the parking space is just right, can stop. There are also many Chinese restaurants in the town, which is very good as the middle station for self-driving.
