AAnonymous UserWe stayed for three nights in total, and the overall experience was great. For the first two nights, since the standard rooms were fully booked, we opted for a queen room. On the third day, the hotel upgraded us to a family room, which was much bigger and our child absolutely loved it. The ladies at the front desk were incredibly patient with both check-ins and answering our questions. The cleanliness was impressive; we felt very comfortable staying there. Breakfast was also good, with a variety of vegetables and fruits, plus freshly cooked noodles, so there was plenty of choice. The location is very convenient, with many dining options nearby. Chain restaurants serving shaomai and Mongolian cuisine are just a few minutes' walk away, and it's also very easy to get a taxi to various attractions. Excellent value for money!

I highly recommend booking a room with a direct desert view; the floor-to-ceiling windows face the endless dunes, allowing you to enjoy stunning sunrises, sunsets, and the starry desert night sky right from your bed. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The hotel provides exclusive wristbands that cover all your dining, accommodation, and entertainment needs. There's a shuttle train on the island for convenient transportation, and the facilities are comprehensive, including both indoor heated and outdoor swimming pools, as well as an ice skating rink for recreation. With the wristband, you get unlimited access to the Xiansha Island and Yuesha Island, with various desert activities like camel riding all included – the kids absolutely loved it. All three meals are buffet-style, featuring fresh and abundant dishes. You can savor authentic Inner Mongolian specialties, such as rich milk tea and roasted lamb leg, alongside local snacks, desserts, fresh fruits, and a wide variety of main courses. The dining options are incredibly diverse, eliminating any need to worry about meal planning. Based on my personal experience, I strongly recommend a three-day, two-night stay; a single night is simply too rushed to fully appreciate all the unique activities. Especially the 'Chasing the Wind Camp' outdoor event on the first night – the atmosphere was incredible, with live singing, acrobatics, and engaging interactive sessions. As night falls, dazzling fireworks light up the desert sky, and after the show, there's a desert stargazing activity. Gazing at the Milky Way in a desert free from light pollution is an unforgettable experience. The three-day, two-night pace is just perfect. You can leisurely enjoy desert attractions and the pool during the day, waiting for the desert sunset; then, at night, immerse yourself in the performances, fireworks, and stargazing without rushing your itinerary. It truly maximizes the family holiday experience.

Breakfast was incredibly rich and varied; the lamb shaomai was particularly authentic, and the lamb offal soup was absolutely delicious – highly recommend both! What truly stood out was the genuine and professional service team. From the warm milk the housekeeping auntie discreetly replenished daily to the help with planning my travel itinerary, every little detail exuded a heartwarming, 'home-like' feeling. Upon check-out, the front desk even gave me a souvenir gift, a thoughtful gesture that instantly melted away any travel fatigue.
Xin Cheng Hotel isn't just a place to rest; it's a living cultural museum. It tells stories through its architecture, conveys local charm through its cuisine, and embodies warmth through its service. It allows every guest to experience the vastness and gentleness of Hohhot amidst the hustle and bustle.
I will definitely be back again. Highly recommended!

PPen31Disappointing experience for a hotel of this standard
I had quite high expectations for Wanda Vista Hohhot, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing, especially considering the hotel is positioned as a five-star property.
The first impression at check-in was already not great. There was very little sense of welcome from the front desk. While the staff member was trying to locate our booking number, she said “麻烦死了” within earshot of us. I was quite taken aback and actually asked if she was referring to us, to which she laughed and said no. She may have been frustrated with the computer or booking system, but regardless of who or what the comment was directed at, I do not think this is appropriate to say in front of guests during check-in. The overall attitude simply did not feel like the level of hospitality I would expect from a hotel in this category.
What shocked me the most, however, was at the restaurant. The water jug being used at the coffee machine had very obvious orange-brown corrosion or buildup around the inner seam and spout, in an area that comes into contact with the water. I have attached photos because I think they speak for themselves. I cannot say exactly what the substance was, but seeing equipment used for drinking water in this condition was extremely concerning and immediately made me question the maintenance and hygiene standards of the beverage equipment.
The property itself may carry a five-star name and facilities, but service and maintenance are equally important parts of a five-star experience. Between the uncomfortable check-in experience and finding the coffee machine water jug in that condition, this stay fell well below what I expected.
I hope management takes the feedback seriously, particularly the condition of the beverage equipment and front desk service standards.

GGuest UserI really enjoyed the charming courtyard setting; it felt very cozy and comfortable to stay in. We drove all the way from Ulanqab, and as we planned to visit Lvshuiliang the next day, we searched for nearby options and booked this guesthouse. It's a traditional rural-style courtyard, very clean and well-maintained. There weren't many other guests, and the room amenities were quite comprehensive.

AAhn KesthipI had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. During this trip, I stayed here for one night, spent one night elsewhere, and then returned for another two nights before flying back to Thailand.
The staff were incredibly helpful throughout my stay. After my first night, I accidentally left my power bank in the room. The reception team took the initiative to look for it, called me to let me know they had found it, and safely kept it until I returned.
On the day of my departure, I had to check out at 5:00 a.m. Unfortunately, the driver I had booked did not show up. The reception staff immediately stepped in and helped me call taxis until they successfully found one for me, making sure I could get to the airport on time.
I truly appreciate their kindness, professionalism, and willingness to help. The excellent service made my stay stress-free and memorable. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hohhot.

GGuest UserI stayed at the Lanyang Hotel because I had business at Hohhot Normal University. Our family of three booked a family room, but the lovely manager at the front desk upgraded us to a suite. She also kindly offered us milk in the evening. The room had an amazing view! It was spacious and bright! Being so close to the university made things very convenient. Overall, the hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's hardware facilities meet the basic Sheraton standards. However, the service level of hotels in the north is generally lower than in the south, a fact I've noticed on several trips (even though I'm from the north myself).
Here are the pros and cons:
1. **Breakfast:** Consistent with Sheraton's usual standards – neither disappointing nor surprising. All the expected items are there, so you'll definitely leave full. I particularly recommend the waffles and butter pound cake, and the wontons are freshly made, not pre-packaged, so be sure to try them. The only downside is that the restaurant is quite small, and during peak season, it tends to get crowded with queues starting around 9 AM. It's best to go before 8:30 AM. The restaurant staff are enthusiastic.
2. **Executive Lounge:** The afternoon tea was very sparse, with only a few types of mousse and a small selection of fruits, which were instantly gone as soon as they were brought out. The evening happy hour was decent, offering four or five hot dishes, congee/soup, fried rice, pho, etc. Desserts were still mousse. There were several types of spirits and beers available. It was enough to fill up, and the taste was quite good.
3. **Housekeeping:** A male staff member responsible for my floor left me quite speechless. On the first night, he knocked on our door after 10 PM. We were already asleep, and when I got up to open the door, I realized he had delivered something to the wrong room. He just turned and walked away without saying anything, no apology, no smile – it was baffling. The next day, I found I had run out of shampoo while washing my hair. I'm not sure if the housekeeper that day checked the amenities. I called room service, and after a while, the same male staff member arrived, handed me a bottle of shampoo, and left, expecting me to replace it myself. It was a real struggle in the bathroom to remove the old bottle and fit the new one in. 😣
4. **Laundry Service:** The female staff member who came to collect my laundry had the best attitude – humble and polite. Thumbs up to her.
5. **Gym:** The gym isn't large, and the equipment is acceptable, but it lacks a Smith machine and barbells. It's on the lower-to-mid end compared to other Sheratons I've stayed at. I didn't visit the swimming pool, so I can't comment.
Overall, for a luxury suite costing over 1,000 RMB, I'd say it was value for money, especially compared to the nearly 2,000 RMB per night prices in Manzhouli and Hailar.
