Loved our stay at Songzhuju! One of the plus points owner can converse in English which makes it easier for non chinese travellers. They have washer and dryer for guest to use, and the location is near to the Old Town North Gate, 2-3 min walking distance. We loved the hospitality, owner greet us with Pu Er Tea and helped with our luggage, she even suggested us to go visit a coffee house at Baisha Town with breathtaking view of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain! The room was beautiful, as per photos and bed super comfy! They can arrange to pick you up for free at the railway station to hotel, and also arrange going back to the railway station with only 40 yuan (I have checked and its cheaper than didi considering they helped us with our heavy luggage etc. all the way to the entrance) Definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stay at this hotel.

At first it was a little confusing because the hotel’s lobby located at 6th floor. The english is not so good (as usual) but the communication can be done via translator. The front desk are very helpful and will try their best to communicate despite the language barrier. The room is clean, good view. I had my friend booking with no windows room and it’s actually decent too. They actually have windows just that it faced inside the building. Not bad and not as claustrophobic as i thought it would. It’s located along ninping street, although it’s felt like on the end side of the road. So you need to walk quite a bit yo the centre side of the road. The gym is very basic probably just 3 equipments at level 6. The laundry is also at level 6. In general i would recommend. I have no complaint for my one night stay. Love it. This is a well priced option in the city. It is about a 20-minute walk from the main Kunming railway station, so for those arriving at Kunming airport late when the metro has stopped running, you can take the airport bus to the railway station and walk to the hotel. The hotel is also a short 5 min walk away from the nearest metro station Tangzixiang, which is a convenient interchange station. There are only a few food options near the hotel but a walk to the Tangzixiang area throws up more. No amenities like a pool etc - typical of an Ibis but for the price paid, no complaints. Did not tru their breakfast so cannot comment. Night front desk staff can be a little rushed despite being professional.

Highly recommended hotel. I book the family room. It was clean and comfortable bed. Kids love to look at the stars through the ceiling before bed time. The couple ( owner ) were very accommodating and kind. After checking in, the boss lady asked us if we were hungry, and recommended a local restaurant nearby. She brought us there. And the husband also concern about the kids and told us, the weather was cold and need more protection for them. They let us borrowed their traditional/ local fleece cover. Beautiful hotel in a small pedestrian street that is about 10 mins walk to the shopping area and another 10 mins walk from there to the old street. The hotel rooms are beautifully decorated and the heaters and powerful enough to keep us warm. The hotel staff were very considerate and helpful and fed us well with their breakfast, teatime and even supper, all of which comes with every stay. Other activities include wearing traditional costumes and calligraphy, which we didn’t get to enjoy due to time constraints. Absolutely stunning architecture and interior design.

The location of the hotel is very convenient near the underground train station and the market. There are some food shop near by. The hotel very clean and meet the standard. There is a breakfast room and washing machine on the 2nd floor. Staff could not speak english but we use the translator it's not a problem.

We were a bit confused with the hotel name. It's called Wanderland Hotel. Thankfully the staff at South Ring Road metro station was very helpful. It was quite a distance for us to walk. Took us about 25mins as we had to drag our luggage. We enjoyed our 4 nights stay here very much. Staff was friendly and helped us with booking our 1st didi ride to Green Lake. We left our toothbrush charger at the airport hotel and the lady helped us contact the hotel and arranged the charger to be courier to us. Enjoyed the daily breakfast of mi xian and local breakfast items. Their flower tea is good too. No complaints on the hotel room. It was clean and didn't have cigarettes smell. The railway station is just behind this hotel. About 20mins walk or you can use didi. Very convenient. Only complaint was our room was facing the main road and one morning we were woken up by people talking on the street at wee hours. Will definitely stay here again when we come back.

Lovely place. The location is super convenient, as it’s near the ancient city exit, so can save energy carrying luggage. We were welcomed by very friendly staff and cute dog. The room is spacious, quiet and clean. The ancient style design and flowery courtyard blend into Lijiang’s atmosphere and add to the charm.

A very nice place, short walk from the ancient city but far enough away from the hustle bustle of the ancient city. Overall clean place and the owner is usually found sipping tea at the lobby. You can join him for a chit chat or get his help to book tours or buy stuff like tea or flower cakes. He is very professional and subtle in his selling approach. We stayed for one night at Lijiang Pure Sunshine, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the ancient city and the snow-capped mountains of Lijiang. The owner, Mr. Chan, was incredibly warm and helpful. He shared his WeChat contact, allowing us to reach out to him anytime we needed assistance. We were delighted to receive a room upgrade during our stay. The room was equipped with a good heater and basic toiletries, which made our stay comfortable. The guesthouse is conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from the Old Town, making it an excellent choice for exploring the area.

The hotel is just a few steps away from 黑龙潭。I have received a free upgrade for the room to moutain view. The interior deco of the hotel is unique, and the breakfast area is at level 6 with a mountain view. Good place, great view and environment, comfortable, friendly host. The hotel is uphill but the taxis can bring you very close (top of 狮山路 shishanlu，a few taxis are actually waiting here). Adress to use : 狮子山万古楼景区北门-售票处 And by foot, go down the other way, it's close to the center of the old town.

A small homestay located in the heart of the old town. There are enough shops and restaurants nearby. It's about a 10 minute walk to both the north gate and the south gate. Keep in mind if you have heavy luggage you would need to drag it around the cobblestone streets because no vehicle can reach the place. The service of the owner alone makes me rate this place 5/5 stars already. It didn't matter how many questions I asked, everytime he helped me out. If you are a solo traveller or don't speak any word of Mandarin then this is a great place to stay, the owner will make sure you don't get lost. While the service was perfect and couldn't be any better there are some negative things worth mentioning. First of all, the soundproofing is really bad. The room's door is full of holes and gaps so you can hear everything that is happening outside. Moreover, you better make sure you don't have any upstairs neighbours because you can hear everything what they do as well: moving around on the wooden floor, flushing the toilet, opening the tap, taking a shower. Second, talking about showers, the shower in the room takes quite some time to heat up (similar to most hotels in China) but the more annoying part is that its impossible to get the right temperature for the shower: its either way too hot or cold. Lastly, the curtains were full of disgusting stains and didn't block out all the light so I recommend just getting them replaced. All in all, this place has some positives and some negatives. Decide for yourself if you want to stay here. In my opinion, despite the negatives, I would definitely stay here again and recommend you to do the same.

My tip to other Travellers who are looking for a luxury experience, please don’t go for the up and coming avant garde room designs that seem to be popular in Lijiang. Pros: 1. Economies of scale, rooms are of a high standard. Heating, air-conditioning all work fine. You’ll realize it’s a problem with the boutique hotels who are at the same price point 2. Breakfast begins at 6:30am - great for when you want to start your day early. 3. They had beautiful black swans and offer free activities like kayaking alongside them. Cons: 1. The boutique hotels has personalized services compared to large hotels. However, it’s not important for me.

Very good location, in the border of ancient town, just across the street, easy access to lots of places to eat and food stores around, including a very good place to buy bread (makes a difference for westerns used to bread in the breakfast) The room was very confortable, and clean, well equiped, and the staff was very nice. I got to the hotel from the airport by taxi, aprox CNY100. Hotel staff also helped me indicating a Van service to take me to Dali, 2 1/2 hour drive, for CNY100. Although I was traveling alone, my room with a queen bed would accommodate a couplevery comfortably.

Just amazing. This doesn’t need a big review because the experience speaks for itself. I am an English traveller in China and I found this to be one of, if not the, most pleasant stay I have had on my own. The room is huge, more than enough for 2 people. The amenities are clean and changed daily. Tea is provided—great for fans of Yunnan hot drinks. But the really special part is the host: Joy and her family are wonderful people! Helpful. Kind. Attentive. And great fun to speak with and be around. I am very happy I chose to stay here. The Jin Bi Ya Yuan is THE place to stay in Dali. I’ll be coming again.

Super friendly staff who recommended nice dinner places. Room is a bit small, but this hotel is located in the ancient city, so it is understandable. There is construction going on at the main street outside the hotel, so you have to pull your luggage across a few alleys. Breakfast not included.

Travel with big families and lucky to choose the pullman hotel which has convenient locations, accessible to most of the attractions near the erhai lake. The hotel is very new with fabulous lake view to enjoy the erhai and also xing sheng bridge . We dined in twice for dinner at level 5 grand Chinese restaurant. The food quality is above average and price reasonable with additional 10% off for hotel guests.

This is one of the best and friendly hotels I have stayed so far. The front desk, and especially, the hotel restaurant staffs are exceptional helpful and polite. Location of the hotel is strategic too. Inside the ancient city but not in the heart where it can be very noisy. This place is quiet. Although there are many good restaurants within the ancient city, but I must say, their restaurants food and environment are the best. We had 2 dinners and 1 lunch at their restaurant, no regrets.

The Yunduan Nanshe Homestay is an outstanding but very affordable hotel located near the ancient city in Dali. You can perfectly plan to stay one or two nights of your holidays in this place to enjoy all the landmarks and activities around the hotel. The hotel is not bad for the price. The staff are friendly and rooms have all the amenities including air conditioning, free wifi, toiletries, towels, hair dryer, toothbrush, shampoo and soap. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool at the rooftop with great views to the city. The hotel is surrounded by plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars within 10 min or less walking distance.

Location is excellent with stunning views overlooking the lake, and short walk to nearby Putuo island. Staff were all excellent with great service. We were pampaered with fruits, cakes etc.. and II brought 3 elderly family members with me recently (two of them bove 80+ years) and they thoroughly enjoyed the stay!! Very nice staff! Big and beautiful room! Very responsive via WeChat and quick to deliver us by using the golf cart. Free photos led by a photographer and free bag of gifts after we left. We enjoyed the stay but probably will think twice about staying overnight in the Santorini area again. It is a ghost town in Santorini after dark, no activities, no lights on in the area, everything closed after 6 pm. We walked around with our cell phone flashlight to find dinner.

We arrived in the afternoon. Two housekeepers came to the door to greet us. They were warm and generous. The front desk lady was very beautiful and thoughtful. The hotel is bright and welcoming with a beautiful relaxing garden and two friendly cats. The staff were warm, helpful and eager to assist and give recommendations to us. The room was large, clean and had everything we needed although the bathroom was a little basic, but perfectly usable.
