Mercure Ostrava Center Hotel

So, we chose this hotel for a business trip based on the existing reviews and were not disappointed. The hotel is in a great location to allow for exploration of the area to be able to eat and drink whilst out and about. It has a great bar and restaurant on site so you dont even need to do that. When you walk in, you really get a feel that you are somewhere special. The staff are smartly turned out, smiley, friendly and willing to help. They have put a lot of effort into this place, and it feels like a top end hotel. The breakfast selection was excellent, fresh and in abundance. There is something for everyone and lots of it. Very very nice and the staff are all over it. Clearing, cleaning, smiling etc. The room was perfect. I had the best 4 night's sleep and better than my actual bed at home. The room was clean and tidy. The shower was fantastic. A large rain head for above and the option of a handheld if you want to switch. I had a kettle, tea/coffee, water etc which for me is exactly what I want. The gym is small but has enough there to do a good workout. If, however you happen to go into there to do weight training, and there is someone lifting also, you will be very limited unless you want to politely switch between sets but that aside, it's a gym and provides running machines, dumbbells and a multi station etc. The cherry on top was the final morning we had to leave. We would not make the breakfast as we were leaving too early but the hotel prepared us a breakfast box each. That was seriously amazing. It contained a ton of stuff from ready-made roll, pre cut bread, butters, spreads, fruit, water, yoghurt, energy bar etc. I was so so impressed and that was a great touch. I honestly really really liked this place and the employees there need to be proud of what they are doing. Id highly recommend this place.
Imperial Hotel Ostrava

This hotel was located in the center of Ostrava, just a short distance from Masaryk Square. My room had a window facing the backyard, so there was no noise from the street (on the day I stayed here, the Christmas market started, so there were a lot of people around the hotel, and there was an ice rink right in front of the hotel, where loud music played). Check in and check out were quick and without any problems. The equipment of my room seemed a bit older, it seemed to me like a hotel room from the nineties, the kind you can see in movies from that time. The furniture was older and very simple, the bathroom small, the bed quite soft for my taste. It was clean here. I had breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The offer was wide and everything I had was tasty. The ambience of the restaurant was very pleasant. Hotel and restaurant staff were nice and helpful.

We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights this July 2023 in time for the BFL festival. Here were a lot of peole but on reception was very fast check-in and very friendly and clever team. Room 426 was clean - good job from cleaner Lucy :) The beds were comfortable. Maybe some small fridge is missing here - I think that is normally in hotels. We looked forward to breakfast every day because the food was very delicious. Huge range - salt and sweet and all fresh, yummy. Eggs, pancakes, porridge, garlic soupe, yoghurt, vegetables, fruits, hams, cheese, desserts, nutella, peanut butter, much types of bakery products ... all what you need to eat. Great coffee and juice, teas Wonderful work all team in restaurant. Every day with a smile and friendly mood. Cleaning dishes from tables, additional foods and drinks. I was excited!! :) Very funny was the cat robot for collecting the dishes :D My feelings are very positive and not last visit in this hotel. I look forward to the next visit. Best regards for all team. You do great work!! Thank you very much!
Best Western Hotel Vista

I slept in BW Vista first time. I can´t blame this hotel for its 80´s look. I can not imagine to redesign such a huge house to more state-of-the-art, except rooms. Yes you are welcome by big hallways, stairs, long corridors. Staff: very friendly and willing, reception perfect, brakfast huge and staff again very neat and caring. Parking just in front of hotel under surveillance cameras. Safe. Dinner was cheap: 4 course menu for 240,- CZK. Not the best, not the worst. Glass of gute wine 80,- and the waiter very nice person, very experienced. The room: it is very obsolete. Removing flat LCD TV you would be back in communist era. Maybe at that time > I would put 4 stars on front door. Not today. I would reward it with 2, maybe 3 stars. At all: I can recommend this hotel to businessmen who want to sleep in a quiet and clean room and do not expect a super modern hotel. It certainly won't offend you.
Zámeček Petrovice

For: Beautiful place, old castle-manor which belonged to the Larisch family, where Countess Marie Larisch, daughter of ”Sissi” lived between 1879 and 1883 and which was renovated in the 2010s. The park is beautiful, with trees and flowers, beautiful terrace outside to have an aperitif in the sun and breakfast, very pleasant. Spa center that we did not use so I cannot give my opinion on it. The parking lot is hidden underground and covered with grass so you can't see it, which is good. A little away from the village, quiet location. Pretty little wooden church a few km away. Small but comfortable rooms, with many amenities. Well-stocked breakfast buffet. Excellent restaurant in the evening: very well presented and delicious dishes, a little new cuisine for the portions but really very good. The fresh smoked salmon / caviar as a starter is a marvel! Everything was delicious, the restaurant is highly recommended, the service was friendly. A little disappointed with the hotel itself but very good value for money. In summary, a hotel still looking for its style but good potential. Cons: Sloping access road with large cobblestones, not very practical with suitcases from the parking lot which is a little far from the main building. Very disappointed by the room which was tiny and without a view, in an attic with just an inaccessible skylight at the back of the building, and on the 2nd floor without an elevator, even though I had said we were coming to celebrate a wedding anniversary. No shutter or blackout curtain so we are woken up at 5 a.m. by daylight. Interior decoration of the hotel ugly and soulless, too modern for the building, with a lot of imitation leather or materials and a bit of a ”new-rich-redneck” style that don't go together, it's a shame not to have renovated in the 19th century style, given the history of the castle this would have added charm. Public not necessarily well behaved, noisy, some with children whom they let run everywhere even in the restaurant in the evening and at breakfast. As it's a charming hotel/restaurant we come here as a couple to be peaceful, so it's a bit annoying and disappointing. Also surprised that we accept people in shorts and sportswear in an upper-class restaurant, it's a shame and ruins the charm. In summary, a hotel still looking for its style but good potential.
Hotel Maria

Hotel located in the city center. Customer service at a high level and very friendly. Spacious room, standard equipped, very clean and tidy. Downstairs, you can have a delicious breakfast in the morning or order dinner. At the reception, you can also buy regional products or jewelery from local artists. We are very pleased and if we ever stay in Ostrava it is for sure at Hotel Maria.

Perfect place outside the centre of Ostrava for an overnight stay on a business trip. Travelling by car, there was a car park located in front of the hotel and without charge. The Hotel itself along with the room were very nice and clean. It has a good little restaurant next door but within the same building, perfect for dinner. Bedding and WIFI was great. Bathroom, nicely tiled and appealing. If anything, the rooms were a little warm but it should be noted that I did not make an attempt to adjust this. And to cap off the stay, Breakfast was superb. Having stayed at other establishments in Ostrava, I can safely say, for my value of my corporate allowance, I will definitely be returning.
