I was on a business trip to Dusseldorf and my local colleague recommended Clayton Hotel. The front desk staff was very warm and friendly, and introduced the hotel facilities one by one. The room was not small and clean. The only regret was that it was a big bed with two single beds put together. The hotel breakfast was also very good, and it was the best choice for this business trip. In addition, the hotel is located 15 minutes walk from the train station, and there are many Asian food outside the hotel. Highly recommended!
Unfortunately, the Kiman facility in the room was not to fix a pleasant sleep temperament, so it was too warm. At the reception it was notified and there was just a brief excuse. I would have expected a price change. The room, a friend, was too warm and the nice young man at the reception noticed that this was probably also defected by other guests.
I had booked this hotel through Saturday until Tuesday. The stay was very pleasant. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I felt as if they had known me for years. Very accommodating the only down fall was that the pool was not working which we actually booked this hotel for. So very disappointed when the email came through to state that the pool is currently out of order.
For the rest I would say this is a very good hotel and very close to the city centre.
Great hotel with many options, such as swimming pool, massage and fitness.
Very friendly and premature staff. Starting from the reception,
Personnel at the restaurant, room service and the lady at the massages were excellent. Breakfast buffet has something to offer for everyone and doesn't leave any wishes open. Special wishes are also fulfilled. Our daughter had birthday and the table for dinner was fully covered. Also the staff congratulated,
All were very hearty and had a little time for a few nice words despite a lot of work. The hotel is very clean and maintained. There are very many efforts to make the guests comfortable it. The sun was hardly out and temperatures rose, the outer terrace was decorated and beautifully decorated. Man can also make many excursions in a short time, such as to Cologne, Bonn, King Winter (dragon rocks) etc. We can recommend the hotel with the best conscience and it may be good that we stay here once again when we are in the area. We are about 500 km away.
The location of the hotel is cheap to the motorway we haven't heard of. Otherwise, when you take the route you feel like you're going.
The rooms are very generous, we had a single bed with one bed, both were 120 cm wide.
We were only for 1 night at the hotel and had no meal, the reception was very nice, we could get our room early.
Very good price-performance ratio.
The hotel is very close to the Cologne Exhibition Hall, and it only takes a few minutes to walk there. The receptionist is very friendly. The room is clean and sanitary, and there is plenty of hot water. Disadvantages: Breakfast is a bit expensive at 28 euros; the quilt is too thin and too short (but not cold).
Summary: I will choose this place again when I attend the Cologne Exhibition next time.
Spacious rooms. Good breakfast.
Really nice Spanish restaurant for dinner just a 2 minute walk. On-site swimming pool, water park and playground fun for kids
This was our second stay in this hotel and it was even better than last time. Rooms are big and comfortable, with renovated bathrooms and huge flat screen TVs, the service is perfect and the hotel personnel is very friendly and professional.

Great
GGuest UserExcellent room, service, breakfast and location. Go ahead, fabulous choice in accommodation. Cannot believe how spacious this hotel was compared to the Marriott hotels I stayed in previously.
GGuest UserBreakfast was very good and luckily served until 10:30 a.m. because it was school holidays. The room was nice, too, although a bit small, but we had booked the cheapest category.
However, we chose this hotel because of the pool and sauna. The pool was broken and unusable. The sauna is actually available from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., but you have to call ahead or wait half an hour to use it in the morning. That's not a problem, but if you don't know, it's simply annoying. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time! It's a shame, because this could have been avoided with proper communication.
GGuest UserStruggled to get through to the hotel as the phone number on the app used to make booking was in correct. The hotel is easy to find and transport links from the airport I give a 10/10 plus connection to the city was super easy. Upon arrival, the service desk staff were pleasant and apologised. Finally checked in and the room was clean and well done. However, my room was facing the major road and extremely noisy during the entire stay as the road is a busy one.
Ordered a late dinner and disappointed with my under done beef patty, the bun it came with required an electric knife to get through. I did complain and an apology was given.
Now, the hotel room doors bang whenever they’re being closed and made my stay unbearable. Something definitely needs to be done as I was put off!! Before retiring to bed, I hung the notice to not be disturbed..alas! the following morning after breakfast I just wanted to have a quiet time but I was rudely interrupted, disturbed coupled with the loud doors as the cleaners went about their inspections 2 x in a space of 10 minutes.
I would have loved to stay here on future visits but it’s a NO!!
The breakfast was lovely, sauna and swimming pool facilities too. I did not use the gym. Otherwise it’s in a good safe location.
GGuest UserStayed as a couple at Club King Double room for 5 nights during the Amphi Festival.
Pros:
- Unbeatable location, walking distance to everything while not within the Old Town which is way too touristy. Five-minute walk from the train that takes you straight to the airport.
- Room 99% soundproof, very private and peaceful (stayed at the Club floor, 6/6).
- Amazing bed.
- Full-size working desk in the room.
- Daytime service very professional, helpful, and friendly.
- The Club Floor lounge has it's own very good breakfast buffet (included with the Club rooms at no extra cost - apart from the higher cost of the Club room itself - so you might skip paying extra for the regular breakfast at the restaurant). Also daytime tea with cake and an evening snack are served as well. The snack could become your legitimate dinner if you need it, as there are hot options and appetizers. Amazing view of the cathedral from the Lounge.
- The food was amazing.
Cons:
- The night shift staff is not at the same level as the day shift, so try to resolve your matters during the day.
- Some visible wear and tear in the room (not important to me, but might bother some who expect everything to be 100% at this price point).
Overall:
- Highly recommend, would stay again.
SSebastianThe location of the Adina Hotel is very good. It is close to the train station, very convenient, and at the same time surprisingly quiet, which I really appreciated.
What I liked most is that the room is well equipped for a longer stay. Having a full-sized fridge, a washing machine, and basic cooking facilities makes a big difference and adds a lot of comfort. The gym is perfectly fine, and there is also a swimming pool, which is a nice bonus. Overall, I was quite happy staying here for an extended period.
There are a few downsides though. Housekeeping is supposed to happen every three days, but in reality it is quite irregular and unpredictable. Sometimes it does not happen at all unless you actively ask for it, which is a bit annoying. There is an app to request services, but unfortunately it did not work properly during my stay. Breakfast is okay but very basic and repetitive. The selection was exactly the same every day over two weeks, which gets boring quickly.
In general, it is a good hotel for a longer stay, especially if you value space and self-service facilities, but there is room for improvement in housekeeping consistency and breakfast variety.
DDr.HeinkeI could forgive ten points for service. I would have chosen the hotel with the thermal to celebrate my birthday with my family there. We arrived too early but we were allowed to check in yet. We were very premature and friendly serviced in the restaurant and when they found my birthday is coming or even decorate a table extra. All in all was the food also very good the thermal was sensational. We had a wonderful time and thank you very much.
GGuest UserOverall the trip was good. We visited out of season so the hotel was fairly quiet. stayed for 5 nights. Like a few reviewers have commented, we booked a queen/ double bed and upon arrival to our room discovered we'd been given the key to a twin room ( two single beds) however upon being informed of the error by my husband, we were quickly moved to another room that was spacious and had the most comfortable bed that I've slept in, in a long time.
Parking wise, because it was out of season we were able to find on street parking with no issue and public transport was easy enough to access near by. We got the train into Dusseldorf and Koln during out visit.
The gym is basic but enough if you want a quick workout and the pool is a reasonable size, you just have to watch out for other guests who think it's appropriate to take their phones poolside. The sauna has hot coals and was nice and hot, but the lockers in the ladies changing rooms didn't want to lock and one ate my coins.
Food in the restaurant was nicely done but drinks in the bar a little pricey ( but I think most hotels are like that).
GGuest UserIt’s a lovely and convenient hotel. With everything located nearby, it allows visitors to easily get around the city and all the popular spots. It is especially just a short walk away from the new market and all the neighbouring restaurants, bars, and it is connected to the famous Cologne Cathedral and train stations. In a word, I am very satisfied with my three - day stay.
GGuest UserNewish Hotel, in a remote location, need a car to get around. The rooms have no climate control, needed to request a fan as it was hot and humid in room. The 'natural pool' was freezing and quite dirty to look at, pointless as not heated in Germany. For a chef hotel, breakfast was average, not consistent, one morning the eggs benedict were great, next morning, totally overcooked and unappealing, Pancakes were aweful. At dinner, service was also inconsistent, forgot the soup, brought it after a long time after main course, just didnt work. We also found it to be very inflexible for a small luxury boutique hotel - they only provided sparkling water in the room, when we asked to switch the bottle to still water, there was poor communication and a charge of 8 euro for the still water? tap water tasted pretty salty and did not want to use that in the coffee machine either. overall pretty average, would not return or recommend
