The hotel is beautiful and there is a veneer of professionalism however it quickly became clear that the facility was not ready to open as a fully functioning hotel. This should have been declared at the time of booking. The breakfasts were good but any other meals were awful, there was no coffee available through the entire hotel after 10am. Workmen we’re around much of the building, making a noise with power tools and leaving a mess. Guests were treated as second class citizens and “Guinea pigs”.
This is the one of the best hotels that I've stayed in since I've been traveling throughout Southeast Asia. The room had a great smell and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast was also good. I would definitely recommend staying here.
The Athena isn't bad. Everything was clean and tidy. The staff were very nice. The pool was relatively small, but okay. However, there were only about 5 sun loungers, and they were usually occupied. The à la carte breakfast was okay, but if you wanted an orange juice, it cost an extra $5 USD, which we found excessive. All in all, a good 4-star hotel with minor drawbacks.
Service was good, but some confusion with food orders. Food is good, but expensive for what you get. Hot shower kept triggering the breaker, so you got maybe 3 minutes of hot water, and then had to wait to reset it (no idea if this was the case in all rooms).
Overall the location makes up for most of that. It's a very peaceful location.
The hotel was greatly situated on the island. They arranged everything for us including transfers back to Pakse. We hired bikes at 30,000kip each for 2 days and this was great fun. The hotel also did all of our laundry at a fee but it was beautifully clean!
The hotel restaurant did amazing food and we particularly liked the breakfast!
The pool and amenities were great and we loved our room and balcony.
Would highly recommend this!! :)
The best choice for Dongkong Island. The hotel is right under the old bridge. The location is excellent. You can walk up to the bridge to watch the sunrise and sunset.
The breakfast was good, and the riverside dinner in the restaurant was refreshing.
The room is OK in the local area, that is, there is no swimming pool, the environment on the island is similar, there is no way, but it is still worth a trip, see the scenery and rest.
Lovely resort in Pakse which faces the Mekong river so there is a lovely view and breeze!
The staff were amazing from the cleaners to the receptionists. I'm sure this resort will get very popular soon as it is a hidden gem.
I stayed over Christmas and was able to have the receptionists help me book activities during my stay.
I would recommend booking their taxi service from the airport as there are no local taxis available.
The hotel is large in scale and well-equipped, and is located in the center of Khong En Falls and Li Pi Falls.
The hotel covers a long stretch of the Mekong River, with beautiful scenery.
The hotel is run by Chinese people themselves, and the dishes are also in line with Chinese tastes.
Here I would like to especially praise the front desk manager BESS Yang Hongmei, who is superb in business and enthusiastic. She gave us a lot of travel information and suggestions, and helped us in time when we lost our way.
When you come to the four beautiful islands, Manman Hotel is the best choice.
The hotel gave me an amazing entrance, magnificent lobby, but 5mins later they made us wait for almost an hour to check in saying that they couldn’t find our reservation. They told us to have a sit multiple times wait for them to cum out the reservation, while we were exhausted from a long bus ride to Pakse(btw, such a horrible terrible miserable city). They’d only pay good attention to the well represented.
But after checking in, realizing the check in time on trip.com isn’t aligned with their own check in time schedule, the hotel was an amazing resting place with international TV, nice bathroom and pool outdoors. In such a dirty city like Pakse, we have a better stay because of the nice hotel.
Just one last little tip for the hotel, recruit people who speak good English please.
