A truly unforgettable stay! The hotel is located right below the Waishuangxi cable car, just a few minutes' walk away. We arrived quite early, and the welcoming uncle at the hotel was incredibly helpful, storing our luggage in the lobby. After a tiring hike with my family, we returned to check in. When my child mentioned, 'I wish we had a balcony,' the front desk staff, a young man, just smiled and glanced at us without saying anything. But when we got to our room and found it actually *had* a balcony, we were thrilled and very touched! The food at the Chinese restaurant in the evening was also delicious, and the service staff were incredibly patient – truly excellent. What touched us most was this: the next day, after we had already left for Wunvzhou, the hotel called us to say that their staff found a bracelet during room cleaning that we didn't even realize we'd lost, and they kindly arranged to have it couriered back to us.

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, right near the subway station and Nanchang Station, making it incredibly convenient for getting around or catching a train. The room facilities are all brand new, and they even offer free late-night noodles that are really delicious. The only minor drawback is that the mattress is a bit soft, which took some getting used to since I prefer a firm bed. But I still slept quite well! Overall, the good outweighs the bad, and I'd definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The room was spacious with a fantastic view of the Ganjiang River and Tengwang Pavilion at night. The breakfast spread was excellent, and they even had a special children's area with cute mini-breads. The staff's service attitude was exceptional; the doorman proactively opened car doors and helped with luggage, and the housekeeping aunties even remembered guests' requests and passed them on to the next shift. Such a high level of service awareness is rare to find in domestic hotels these days.

The hotel is conveniently located near Xianghu Lake, which is a great place to visit. The hotel environment is quite good, the lobby is beautiful, and the cleanliness is also decent. There were many weddings taking place at the hotel when I visited, so there were a lot of people, but the management was excellent; it didn't feel crowded or chaotic at all. The front desk staff and the cleaning aunties were all very nice, and they added me on WeChat for timely communication. The downsides are that the room didn't have a refrigerator and the elevators were a bit slow.

This is probably the only ” international ” option in Ruichang. There was only coke and water as soft drink for breakfast one day.

Pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade to what I think is their suite room, or junior suite at least, on the highest floor at Level 26. A huge living room with a working desk and separate toilet. A luxurious bedroom with loads of space, a walk-in open wardrobe big enough for 2 large luggages. Bathtub, standing shower, another toilet and twin basins. Bed is firm but pillows are too soft for my liking. Service was also on point, Barry at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I guess all these makes up for the location. It's near the exhibition centre and Nanjingxi train station but other than that there's nothing else within walking distance. Luckily food delivery is fast and cheap here, same with ride hailing. I wish the hotel had robots sending my delivery up though. And that the lifts worked faster. But overall it's a good stay and will be my choice hotel the next time I attend an exhibition here.

Facilities: Choosing a hotel in Nanchang was incredibly difficult. Firstly, there are no really good hotels, whereas in other cities, there are so many that it's hard to decide. Nanchang lacks top-tier brands like Peninsula, Four Seasons, Park Hyatt, Alila, Niccolo, Mandarin Oriental, Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, InterContinental, or St. Regis. Secondly, the hotels that do exist tend to be older. Guilin faces similar issues, though its Shangri-La and Sheraton have consistently good reputations, but that city makes me uneasy. I was torn between the Ruiyi, Shangri-La, and Sheraton, but ultimately chose this one because of its proximity to the subway, making the trip to West Station a direct ride. Opened in 2015, it's a bit old, and for a non-leading brand, I was concerned about its performance. I used to think hardware didn't matter and service was paramount. However, staying in budget hostels in 2024 made me realize how pretentious I was; not caring about facilities really only applies to hotels like the Mandarin Oriental or Four Seasons. I also disagree with the 'new over old' mentality. I've stayed in a forty-year-old resort and a hundred-year-old hotel without electricity. It was only after a friend explained the differences between various brands that I realized this rule primarily applies to top-tier brands. Getting back to the point, this hotel is older, but it seems to have been renovated, so don't dismiss it based on its age. It has smart devices, which can also be controlled by switches. Curtains open when you enter the room. Bathtubs vary by room type, with both freestanding and built-in options. TV sizes also differ. Some rooms have carpets in the bedroom area. Rooms are generally larger than those at the Guilin Sheraton (the only two Sheratons I've stayed at) and feel bigger than the Westin Chongqing. The toilets are large (it seems all toilets in this city are quite large?). The pool and gym are well-equipped, and there's a small garden with sculptures for photos. Rooms and the executive lounge offer views of Tengwang Pavilion. The bathroom is split wet/dry, with a single basin. The slippers in rooms 21 and 26 are thicker than those in room 20. When I first checked into room 20, I thought I was mistaken; the slippers were paper-thin. The later ones were the usual thickness found on high-speed trains or China Eastern flights. Water temperature and pressure were stable (or rather, water pressure was stable). I'm not making this up; there was tap water (don't ask what I've been through). Hygene: Clean, found no hidden dirty spots. Environment: Business district? New city area? Not entirely sure. The subway entrance, aside from lacking a down escalator, is fine. This was the only place in Jiangxi where my taxi navigation was spot on, which was a relief. Service: Besides location, another factor in choosing this hotel was the exceptionally good service I received at Alila Jiuzhaigou this year, making Marriott-branded hotels my preferred choice for travel. Coming from Sichuan, there was a significant drop in service quality (Alila had spoiled me rotten), but objectively speaking, the service here was commendable. Firstly, the young ladies handling check-in and extensions were clearly inexperienced, and there's no excusing that. However, the cleaning staff were incredibly kind, greeting us proactively and even telling us the route to see the fountain. Thank you! My request to store luggage was also accommodated. What I appreciate most about Marriott is their attention to feedback and messages. I had requested room decorations, and I received them – thank you! It was very festive. Problems were addressed promptly, unlike the indifference I experienced at the St. Regis Chengdu and the InterContinental Wuhan. Breakfast had attentive staff for guidance and clearing plates (unlike the Hyatt Centric Jingdezhen, where staff ignored me while standing nearby). They were very generous with complimentary gifts, unlike the Hyatt Centric Jingdezhen, which was quite reluctant. Check-out was also faster than at the Hyatt Centric Jingdezhen. The service and value for money were indeed good. Once again, I feel Marriott is more reliable than Hyatt.

There were cigarette butts left in the bathroom of the room and they were not cleaned up. The front desk helped to change the room. I asked if there were any equipment for children, and was told that there was no such service, only for adults. To park, you have to drive from the auxiliary road in front of the hotel to an underground parking lot in a residential area. It is difficult to find it without calling to ask. It feels like the city construction and design are full of bugs. Compared to the city, it is relatively close to the Haihunhou Museum, and the museum is still worth a visit.

Highly recommend this hotel when visiting Nanchang, especially for families with children. We stayed in their family suite, which was spacious and well-divided into two comfortable rooms. The service was excellent, and the 4-person breakfast was perfect for families with two kids. The breakfast spread was extensive and served until quite late. They even gave us a small children's toy. They were also very accommodating when we needed a late check-out due to a typhoon. Very satisfied, we'll definitely stay here again next time we're in Nanchang. They also have a kids' play area.

The hotel's banquet hall boasts an 8-meter high ceiling and 800 square meters of pillar-free space, equipped with a 40-meter LED screen, custom tea service, and a separate check-in area. Parking is free during your stay, so you won't have to worry about hospital parking issues. It's also very close to Bayi Stadium, just a 10-minute drive away.
