Hotels With Pool in San Jose, Costa Rica

Undiscovered gem of a hotel near San Pedro. Pros: We were looking for a place on the lower end of the price spectrum that was a one night romantic getaway for two, that I could also use my free trip coins at toward the cost of the room. Preferably including breakfast and a swimming pool with jacuzzi 😉 Not much to ask! We booked one of the cheaper rooms on the ground floor. Before check in we took an Uber to San Pedro mall to do some essential shopping and see a movie. Then we checked in and I relaxed in the jacuzzi under the San José night sky while my husband enjoyed a full workout in the gym/weights room. TV with cable was great for my husband who enjoyed the football while I enjoyed the hot shower and relaxed in the bed afterwards. We had an amazingly comfortable sleep and a delicious breakfast in the morning of gallo pinto, fresh tropical fruits, freshly squeezed watermelon juice and hot coffee. A generous check out time of 12pm meant we had more than enough time to get our things together and leave when it suited. Cons: Not many cons at this price point and value. The guy at the desk was a bit weird when we asked him for a second glass for water as there was only one in the room but not a big deal. We also had to ask him for the TV remote. The towels were a bit small like a mini dress on me after my shower. But good quality (with a third extra towel for the jacuzzi) and high quality bed linen. It also is in a slightly rough looking neighborhood but this is not a problem if you travel to and from the hotel by Uber or use a hire car (which you can park privately inside the property). Overall impression: The other photos on trip.com and similar booking sites do not do this hotel justice - it looks far better in person. It has real character since it is a restored historic hotel from an era bygone, but that is why everything is such high quality from the bed linen to the floor tiles. Everything is also in good shape and freshly painted. There a little hidden nooks around the hotel that make it very charming. The breakfast area is lovely and the jacuzzi, pool and water slide were a real highlight. We WILL be back.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the The Radisson San Jose hotel. Breakfast was delicious. The dinners that I had at the hotel were memorable. The front desk and dining staff were exceptional. I highly recommend the Radisson San Jose hotel.

The location and the amenities are amazing. Everything is on walkable distance, I haven’t had to take any transportation at all during my stay. The quality of the rooms and amenities is quite high, there is nothing to complain about. The staff is extremely nice: this includes the securities, the restaurant staff, the housekeeping staff, the barmen and most of the reception staff, except a lady called Alison, with a little attitude and some disrespectful manners, definitely not at all aligned with Marriott standards. However, hopefully some training may bring improvements.

We were informed after the cancellation deadline that they would not be providing shuttle service. We had to take a taxi for 35,000 CRC and they refused to refund us. The buffet was just average; we expected better given our previous experiences with the chain. The sheets were stained, and we had neither washcloths nor hand towels. For one night, it's acceptable.

Excellent hotel, clean. A delicious breakfast and polite staff. When you left the hotel, we were asked to print the documents and call us a taxi to the airport - we all helped. We are very happy ♥️♥️♥️

It's a decent hotel with a lot of details that aren't quite right. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are excellent. The maid didn't empty the trash cans during our two-night stay, nor was the shampoo ever refilled in the dispenser in the shower. There are no carpets or rugs in the room so you're constantly walking on luxury vinyl plank flooring with wet feet. After you get out of the shower. There are no Kleenex boxes or dispensers in the room, and the TV programming was difficult to decipher, especially the secondary audio program in order to listen to the TV in English rather than Spanish. Also, the closed captioning never worked on the TV

Book only one night needed to be closed to the airport prior to leaving Costa Rica. I arrived too early to check in so I left my backpack in the storage and went sightseeing. Rooms were cleaned however my issues was with the cleanliness of the bathrooms I wish they were cleaner . Shower’s didn’t have any hooks or shelves and I didn’t have anywhere to but my stuff other then the floor. I found a very cockroach in the shower which was also gross. Bathrooms could definitely be cleaner and furniture could be less broken done. Definitely more on the budget friendly side.

The hotel is half an hour away from the airport. The rooms are large and clean. It provides the famous local Britt coffee. The breakfast variety is OK, and it changes every day. The waiter will enthusiastically pour coffee or orange juice. However, some single rooms may have a connecting door next door. If you mind, you can inform the front desk in advance.

Excellent location, hotel price is relatively high, breakfast is really convenient, shopping nearby, not far from the Hilton main store, the facilities are good, the price is relatively high

The exteriors and the pool are nice but the rooms are very old and the smell was very bad inside, i think maybe because the carpet looks also old and dirty. I had to change from the first room because of that and the second one wasn't much better. The breakfast is buffet but very basic with a few options so i just got it one day. The a/c very old and noisy during the night.
