This stay completely refreshed my expectations of the mid-range hotel! The location of the hotel is too much, 5 minutes walk is the bustling market, the surrounding business districts, convenience stores are all available, travel for food is super convenient. Stepping into the lobby was cured by a faint fragrance and soft music. The front desk lady smiled very kindly. She took the initiative to help me upgrade the room type. She also handed in warm welcome tea. The check-in process was less than 3 minutes and the efficiency was super high.

Here's a review of my stay: **Pros:** * **Fantastic Location:** Just a 10-minute walk to Jokhang Temple/Barkhor Street, and about 2 km from Potala Palace. It's tucked away in a quiet spot but still close to the action. * **Elegant ******* Design:** The lobby features a traditional ******* white stupa, red lacquer wood carvings, and white walls. The public areas have spacious gardens, and the rooftop bar offers direct views of Potala Palace at night – perfect for photos! * **Altitude Sickness Friendly:** Each room has an independent oxygen generator (which works really well!), a humidifier, and underfloor heating. There's also a 24-hour infirmary, making you feel completely secure regarding altitude sickness. * **Excellent Service:** Butler-style service. Upon check-in, we received a Hada scarf, yak butter tea, and welcome fruits/yak yogurt. The evening ceremony (******* knife champagne opening + bonfire + Guozhuang dance) was a truly special experience. * **Thoughtful Breakfast:** A semi-buffet with à la carte options, offering a great variety and consistent quality. They had ******* tsampa, cheese dregs, yak butter tea, alongside Western Eggs Benedict. **Cons (My Real Experience):** * **Noticeable Hardware Aging:** The hotel has been open for many years. The curtains were jammed/damaged, the rain shower had weak and erratic water flow, and the floors showed wear. Maintenance seems to be lacking. * **Inconsistent Service Details:** Turndown service was perfunctory. Amenities like body lotion were an extra charge. Some public areas and guest restrooms had hygiene blind spots (dust, water stains). * **Significant Price Fluctuations:** The room rate dropped considerably on the day of booking after I had already paid, which was a poor experience for members/repeat guests. There were also occasional tour groups, which reduced the sense of privacy. * **Inconvenient Public Area Layout:** Guest rooms are spread across different buildings, meaning long walks and tiring uphill climbs.

Had a fantastic stay in Lhasa! The room was well-ventilated, so I didn't have to worry about altitude sickness at all. The staff at the front desk, both the ladies and gentlemen, were incredibly warm and welcoming, even presenting us with traditional Hada scarves. Breakfast offered a great variety of options. The robot delivery service to our door was a convenient touch. The location is super convenient, just a few kilometers from the Potala Palace, making it easy to get around. The ******* atmosphere is so immersive, and the ******* incense was incredibly soothing. Plus, shopping and dining nearby were a breeze. Excellent hotel, I'll definitely choose this one again next time I visit!

The whole 318 self-driving road gave us the best hotel to stay in. Very meticulous, warm and considerate service (we also presented our exquisite souvenirs when we checked out) ～ also helped us carry & deliver the luggage to the room when we checked in. The room is spacious and comfortable ～ On the day of check-in, fruit snacks and other ～ The breakfast on the second day is also very rich ～ Basically, we like dishes that cover all kinds of Chinese and Western flavors. Very good impression of this hotel I will have the opportunity to choose again.

This is the smartest hotel we stayed in from Chengdu to Zuogong. There is no need to use room cards to scan faces to enter the room. All devices are controlled by voice. The room is equipped with a massage chair, which relieves the fatigue of the journey from Batang to Zuogong. The room is clean and tidy, and is equipped with two wireless charging stations. The only drawback is that the laundry room is a bit cold. Maybe there are fewer waiters working during the Spring Festival. The three young ladies at the front desk are very enthusiastic and have a good attitude. My husband has a little altitude sickness, and the young man helped with the luggage. He also prepared snacks when I went out in the morning. It was very thoughtful. If I come to Zuogong next time, I will choose to stay here again.

Throughout our trip, the hotel arranged a dedicated driver to take us to Jokhang Temple and Potala Palace. The routes were well-planned, the driving was steady, and he waited patiently, allowing us to easily visit these sacred sites without any worries. I must give special praise to our butler, Zhixi. His service was incredibly meticulous and he anticipated our every need. From guiding us during check-in and offering itinerary suggestions to providing tips for high altitude, he followed up attentively throughout, always responsive to our requests. He handled every small detail with such care and thoughtfulness, making us feel completely at ease. The dining experience at the restaurant was excellent. The dishes were varied, delicious, and of high quality. A special thanks to Dekyi Wangmo for her exceptional care. Her service was warm and attentive; she proactively anticipated our needs, from taking orders to refilling tea and providing thoughtful details. The dining atmosphere was cozy and pleasant, and we enjoyed every meal thoroughly. This was especially helpful for us who experienced some altitude sickness. Standard hotel services were also top-notch. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were humble, courteous, and responded quickly. Whether it was helping with facilities, addressing requests, or providing temporary assistance, they were efficient and warm, truly making us feel at home. From airport transfers and butler service to restaurant care, the Shangri-La Hotel's exceptional dedication protected our entire journey, making our high-altitude trip warm and smooth.
