Experience with Macro Polo (JinJiang) hotel is pleasant. Room is clean and well maintained. Location is a little away from city area about 20mins car journey (depends on traffic).

We stayed at Ibis Styles Hotel (Xiamen Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street) and found it to be a very solid choice for both comfort and location. The hotel is situated right in the heart of the action, with Zhongshan Road pedestrian street just steps away, making it extremely convenient for shopping, local food hunting, and evening strolls. You’re surrounded by eateries, convenience stores, and attractions, yet the hotel itself still feels calm and restful.
The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, offering great value for the price. We strongly recommend opting for a room with windows, as it makes a noticeable difference in comfort and brightness, especially if you’re staying for more than a night. The bed was comfortable, and the overall layout felt practical and modern.
Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient, with no unnecessary fuss. For travelers looking for a reliable, well-located hotel that balances affordability with comfort, this ibis Styles outlet does the job very well. A dependable base for exploring Xiamen.

Every year when I come to Xiamen, I stay at the Swiss Grand for a few days, and this is my fourth time. What attracts me most to the Swiss Grand is its excellent location and rooms directly facing Gulangyu Island. I have to say, the Swiss Grand meets all my needs for a trip to Xiamen.
First, let's talk about the location. It's situated in the heart of Siming District, right next to Zhongshan Road. You can walk to Bashi Market, the Botanical Garden, and Xiamen Ferry Terminal. Taking a taxi to Nanputuo Temple, Shapowei, the Twin Towers, and Xiamen University is always just the starting fare. The Exit to the hotel is also the starting station of Metro Line 1, which goes directly to Gaoqi Airport.
Then there's the room facing Gulangyu Island – it's absolutely unbeatable! It completely matches my aesthetic. Whenever I sit by the floor-to-ceiling window in my room, enjoying the beautiful Gulangyu Island opposite, with a cup of black tea, I feel utterly content. What's even more impressive is that the room is very spacious, well-equipped, and the quality is consistently high. It offers excellent value for money!
The breakfast is very rich, with a wide variety of Western and Chinese options, plus local specialties – you name it, they have it, and it all tastes great. The service is excellent; the greeters at the entrance are very attentive. The front desk was a bit ordinary, but customer service responded promptly and was always helpful.
The only slight drawback was the slow check-in process. This might be due to the hotel being fully booked during the Chinese New Year holiday, but it also reflects that the hotel doesn't have good solutions for handling such surges in guests. We waited over an hour to check in, and at that time, one guest had waited three hours and still hadn't gotten into their room, and ended up arguing with the front desk... This had a very negative impact on the hotel's image. I hope they can further improve their management during holidays!

This Chinese New Year, we decided to visit Fuzhou. After booking our flights, I started looking for hotels. After comparing many options, I finally settled on Mindu ME Hotel. Initially, I chose it because it was a new hotel, but once I arrived, I realized I made the perfect choice.
1) As soon as our ride-sharing car pulled up to the hotel entrance, a friendly staff member immediately opened the car door to greet us, while another helped us with our luggage inside.
2) We arrived quite early, so after check-in, our room wasn't ready yet. The staff member at the front desk warmly suggested we go explore the sights first and helped us store our luggage.
3) The hotel lobby is very grand and impressive, and since it was Chinese New Year, it was decorated quite festively.
4) As a newly opened hotel, all the facilities in the room were brand new, which was a very pleasant feeling. The TV allowed for screen mirroring from our phones, the bathroom had no strange odors, and our room even had two sinks. The shower had excellent water pressure and hot water, and the toilet was a heated, electric model. After a tiring day of sightseeing, we could even relax in the bathtub (a friendly reminder: if seniors or children are using the tub, it's best to have someone supervising).
5) Getting to the hotel is super convenient: take Metro Line 2 to Shuibu Station, use the D Southeast exit escalator (not the accessible elevator) to reach street level, turn left, make a U-turn, walk straight through two automatic sliding doors, and you're directly in the hotel lobby. It's all internal access, so even if it rains, you won't get wet. The bus stop is also very close. The hotel isn't far from popular attractions like Sanfang Qixiang, Shangxia Hang, and the Provincial Museum, all easily accessible by bus, subway, or shared bikes.
6) I didn't make it to breakfast because I slept in, but I'm sure it would have been excellent. If you order takeout, a lovely staff member delivers it to your room, so you don't have to go down to pick it up yourself (the round table in the room is very sturdy, and I brought my own tablecloth to keep it clean).
7) After checking out, a wonderful staff member, Miss Qiu, chatted with us warmly and invited us to stay again. With such a great hotel and amazing staff, I will definitely stay here again whenever I come to Fuzhou.
Wishing all the staff at Mindu ME Hotel a happy New Year and good health! Thank you for your service, see you next time!

The hotel's location is excellent, and the staff's service was truly impressive. Check-in was swift, and they escorted us to our room, explaining all the hotel facilities and amenities. I'm sure every guest receives the same high level of service, which made us very satisfied. The room was clean and tidy when we entered, but I forgot to take pictures, so please refer to other reviews. They provide complimentary bottled water. We needed a late check-out the next day, and the front desk readily agreed. Also, when we ordered takeout, the trash was always cleared away very quickly – within an hour it was gone. I'm not a shill; I'm just a tourist from out of town. I sincerely thank every hotel staff member for their dedication and effort in addressing our questions and needs. Xiamen is a wonderful city, and we came here with friends for a trip. This is truly a great hotel that I will definitely recommend to my friends and colleagues. The location is superb; even though it's in a busy area, it was very quiet at night, not noisy at all.

Cleanliness: The hygiene is clean and tidy, well-maintained, and the bedding is also good, ensuring a good rest.
Environment: The hotel environment is quiet, with a Chinese style and courtyard design, very elegant and nice. The location is excellent, right within the ancient city, very convenient, with plenty of food and entertainment nearby. The situation is shown in the pictures.
Service: The service is excellent; they even escort you to your room, answer all questions, and are on call. The breakfast is very rich and delicious, highly recommended! (First picture)

As soon as we got off the car, the waiter helped us take our luggage and sent it to the room. The room was quite large, in good sanitary condition, with all kinds of facilities. The service attitude of the front desk staff was also very good. The breakfast was rich in variety, and there was an electric car to deliver it to the hotel gate. The hotel environment is very good, the geographical location is excellent, and it is very close to the ancient city of Zhangzhou. My mother and I are very satisfied with our stay and will choose to stay here again in the future.

We made a last-minute decision to travel, and since it was a family trip with kids and seniors, we needed two rooms near Sanfang Qixiang. This was the only place that met all our criteria, so I reluctantly booked it despite the high price.
The car was parked in a public parking lot for 50 RMB/day. We found the entrance to 'Wenrufang,' turned right after passing it, and saw the stone lions, which marked the hotel.
**Ambiance:**
The reception area of this hotel is housed in the original old building. The beams have been reinforced, but you can still glimpse the ancient wood. The 'four waters returning to the hall' (sishui guitang) garden design is quite captivating and worth savoring.
**Accommodation:**
The lodging section is in a newly built single-story addition. We were on the second floor. There were many rooms, but they were quite small. The cleanliness was acceptable, but the shower water was inconsistent – hot then cold. Bathing my child in the freezing water made me want to curse, especially considering the 2K RMB per night price tag.
**Hygiene:**
My family is very particular about hygiene, which was one reason we chose this place. It's newly opened, with no strange odors, and the location is good. Upon entering the room, I checked for dust on the tables and examined the sheets – everything was clean, so I didn't even use disposable sheets. I'd like to commend the cleaning lady here; she was tall, sturdy, proactive, enthusiastic, and efficient!
**Service:**
The hotel has been open for less than six months and is not yet on Dianping. In the afternoon, someone contacted us to ask about our arrival time, which I said would be after midnight. Later, when I couldn't find the hotel, I called the front desk again. They added me on WeChat and sent me the location, which finally helped me find it. Perhaps it's because I've experienced hotels in other cities offering tangyuan (sweet dumplings) upon arrival on Chinese New Year's Day, creating a warm feeling for guests. However, when we arrived at this hotel, the front desk staff was rather wooden. We weren't given toiletries for the children, and the extra blanket we requested wasn't ready. (I had to ask for this blanket five times before they finally provided one, initially claiming they only had one, then magically producing another). No one helped us with our luggage even though we arrived just after midnight; the front desk staff simply stood there.
When I asked about the possibility of a late checkout, they asked me to leave a good review in exchange, which I found a bit ridiculous. I paid 7K RMB for two nights; I shouldn't need to exchange conditions for a late checkout.
**Breakfast:**
Breakfast is served to the right of the accommodation building (it seems to be outsourced). It's a breakfast market in the morning and a coffee shop during the day. A young man wearing a mask handled both the breakfast clean-up and luggage handling during the day. On Chinese New Year's Day, when we went for breakfast, there wasn't much left. On the second day, we went early and got to try the Laohua soup, fish ball, and rouyan soup that we missed the day before. Overall, the variety was good, allowing for a pleasant breakfast experience.
We stayed on the 17th and 18th, and the price was outrageously expensive, but it was our own fault for deciding last minute. However, the hotel is very close to Aiqing Tree (Love Tree); just turn right out of the alley.

Choosing the Lujiang Hotel for our Chinese New Year trip to Xiamen was absolutely perfect! This iconic old Xiamen landmark truly lives up to its reputation; I couldn't find fault with the location, views, or service.
Being a renovated property, the decor cleverly retains its original charm, even preserving the floral tiles left by overseas Chinese – the aesthetic is simply stunning. Stepping out, you're right on Zhongshan Road, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. Our room faced Gulangyu Island, offering expansive sea views that both the elderly and children loved, especially the beautiful night scenery. The room itself was clean and spacious, with thoughtful amenities, making our family stay very comfortable.
The staff were also warm and attentive, from helping with luggage and check-in to promptly responding to our daily needs. They were especially caring towards the elderly and children, which was truly heartwarming and practical. I particularly want to praise the breakfast; the variety was rich, with offerings like shark's fin, bird's nest, and sea urchin all freely available, alongside authentic Minnan flavors. Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed it.
With its history, scenic beauty, and human touch, it's very suitable for family travel. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Xiamen. Highly recommended!

EElizabeth Frances RoseThis place makes me wish there was an option for six stars.
I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay.
I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me.
I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters.
To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget.
For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms.
Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful.
The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees.
This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine.
This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit.
It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

EErererererererererererereryeOur little one wanted to see 'A Yuan's Home,' so we brought the picture book and came to stay. This guesthouse is located within the Tianluokeng Tulou Scenic Area in Nanjing. It's easy to find if you're driving, and personally, I found it even better than the Yunshuiyao Scenic Area – fewer crowds and stunning scenery. It's also very close to Taxia Village, which you can reach by cycling or walking. There, you can visit the 700-year-old Yuchang Lou, famously standing 'crooked but firm,' and grab a meal at the Xiaogqiao Liushui Restaurant. Just a heads-up if you're driving, be mindful of parking restrictions. Getting to Tianluokeng's iconic 'Four Dishes and One Soup' cluster is also super convenient, just a ten-minute drive. The Tulou are truly magnificent!
The guesthouse hostess is incredibly nice, and they have a lovely Golden Retriever named Xiao Chai, who is very friendly and well-behaved. We booked a duplex room with a living area downstairs and the sleeping area upstairs. It even came with a projector, which was a huge bonus! But the real highlight was the in-room washer-dryer combo – such a thoughtful and convenient amenity!

GGuest UserThe front desk staff were incredibly friendly; check-in and check-out were both handled efficiently and quickly. They patiently answered all our questions about local dining options, and their recommendations for restaurants were spot-on – the food was fantastic! The complimentary buffet breakfast offered a great variety of dishes, and the quality was excellent. It was incredibly satisfying to start each day with such a rich and delicious meal. The accommodation itself was very comfortable and offered excellent value for money. I would definitely choose Fengdalin Hotel again on my next visit to Putian, and I highly recommend it to anyone!
GGuest UserThe room has a 270° panoramic floor-to-ceiling window, which is very cool. If you are lucky, you can watch the sunrise directly from the bed! ! The facilities are super new, and there are even disposable face towels in the washbasin, which is highly praised! Even the hair dryer is a Dyson! ! After we moved in, we asked Receptionist No. 1 to accompany the guests. The cat car was super nice and the brother Luoye Zhiqiu's attitude was also super, super nice! ! He always helped me to find the car and picked up the things we left at the B&B! ! ! The overall experience is great
GGuest UserThe room is great! It's very clean and safe. The hotel service is excellent; since cars can't enter the ancient city, there's a shuttle bus that picks you up right where the taxi drops you off, which is super convenient as you don't have to drag your luggage. There's also a shuttle when you check out to take you out of the ancient city. The hotel has an elevator and a beautiful small balcony. It's incredibly close to all the food and attractions of the ancient city – just step out, and a popular spot is a short walk away. Zhongshan Park is right outside, making it very relaxing. They even gave us Mochi, no need to queue, and there are also special tie-dye activities and puppet shows.

GGuest UserRoom is clean and staffs are friendly and helpful especially a staff named Miss Yeh, she even woke up 6am just to help me to check the availability of the bamboo rafting for Wuyishan。 Hotel location is convenient, the bus stop for the free public bus is just nearby the hotel and lots of food choices nearby the hotel。 Recommended!
GGuest UserLocation: The location is excellent, right in the ancient city. Zhongshan Road and West Street are just a few steps away, which is incredibly convenient.
Environment: It's connected to a small courtyard belonging to local villagers. The overall environment is pretty average, but no one bothers you, and it's quite quiet.
Facilities: The room is quite large, and the facilities are decent.
Service: I'd like to highlight the service. It feels like the hotel is understaffed and the staff aren't very professional. Especially one young guy at the front desk, he seems very green and doesn't communicate important information to guests. For example, things like the complimentary hairpin-making experience and afternoon tea, guests have to ask about them themselves. It feels like he needs more experience and training.
Breakfast was okay; it was local specialty Mianxianhu (rice noodle paste). The owner also made a complimentary hot latte, which was a nice touch.
Overall, it's above average, but the service staff could be more professional.
