We stayed one night en route to Hobbiton and liked it so much that we stayed another 2 later in our trip.
Great location, and Cambridge is a relatively easy base to get to other places from.
Beautiful decor throughout, nice finishings and really peaceful.
It was very busy during our stay (around Christmas/NY) so a little wait for food/drinks but that’s to be expected. We had positive interactions with all hotel and restaurant staff.
My only feedback is that the switches in the rooms have blue lights on them, which, for people that like a black-out room, can disrupt sleep. Hopefully an easy fix!
It's a small resort with a nice environment. The only downside is that there's no elevator for the second-floor rooms, so you have to carry your luggage up. On the bright side, the second floor offers a great view of the snow-capped mountains. There aren't many supermarkets nearby, so you'll need to go to the city for groceries. However, there's a pretty good restaurant just across the street. Overall, I highly recommend it; it's clean and hygienic, which is a big plus.
Breakfasts were excellent & staff genuinely friendly & very helpful. The apartment was perfect in every way. We would highly recommend this accommodation.
The room is very unique, but a little small. The breakfast is average. There are three pools in the wild hot spring, which is very artistic. The disadvantage is that the water temperature is a little low. For people who like hot springs, it is not up to standard.
Service was good. Amenities ok. Decor a bit dated but location excellent for view, peace & quiet.
Meals & Accommodation were priced for overseas visitors. Distance to Eateries long walk.

It was my first time staying in a motel and I felt pretty good. The bathroom was very clean, but unfortunately I didn't use the public kitchen. The hot water beach was so interesting. We went to dig sand at around 11pm. There were many people there, it was so interesting.
A tiny motel, has basic amenities. Didn't know there's a communal kitchen until we were leaving.
It's a good stop over point, but most of the town closes either early or has long weekends, so make sure you have supplies beforehand. When we arrived there there was no reception, had a number and person to ring, the entrance is a bit tricky ”around the back”...yep that's exactly what it is.
Was a good one... It was a pleasant trip I had. The location of the hotel was good too.
Super friendly staff and good hotel. Will definitely come back again. Breakfast was really impressive.
The only sad thing would be.... Super limited parking
We arrived at Tuakau Hotel, we were only spending one night. We were very impressed with our rooms. Found it to be very charming and helpful. Will stay again when the need arises.
The location is good, near the city centre. The room is clean, but the bathroom is a bit small

AAnonymous UserThe name may give you some illusions, but it is actually a standard motel. Many rooms are hard to find at night, but the location is good, close to the lake. The interior of the room is standard and the hygiene is good.

YYUJUCheck in was smooth and quick but changed room twice to get everything right. Our first room had urine stains on the toilet, which means this room was not properly cleaned up. That was terribly disgusting to find these spots. Also, the smart TV in the first room didn't work. Our second room was find but has no bathtub as requested. Changed to the third room and finally get the okay one with great AC, working TV and cleanness. It was our first time stayed in a 5-star hotel in NZ and was surprised the standard is quite low compared to the other 5 stars in Asia. Has small heated pool accommodating 6 people max. Swimming pool and sauna were fine but steam room didn't work. Service okay and great breakfast. Will consider the other place next time.

DDavid DonghyunLocation is central and great. Parking is a bit of luck as reserved places are very limited, but street parking is abundant in the area. No real complaints, but the facility is quite dated. The shower booth reflected this, for example, with a leaky swivel head the sprayed water unevenly. Good for short term stays where you need a central base. Probably not my first choice if you want to lounge around in your room.
GGuest UserFront staff very helpful, however first bed cover sheet was stained and the replacement sheet had a rip in it. Dinner food was small, overpriced and not tasty however breakfast there was alot of choice and yummy fresh food. Third party service neglected to pass on pet details so was an unexpected added cost however was very convenient to be able to have my pet there. Was a very warm and comfy room, thank you.
