The exterior environment is beautiful, featuring a unique outdoor heated rooftop pool that's open year-round. In the summer, you can enjoy cocktails at the poolside bar. The rooms are clean and comfortable. This is definitely the hotel to choose when visiting Quebec! 👍

Overall, I was satisfied with my stay at Samsun Montréal. The place is clean, well-located, and comfortable. However, a major downside was that the bedding wasn’t made up beforehand. This was quite surprising since many other hostels in Montreal, even cheaper ones, provide this as a standard service. It’s especially inconvenient when you’re on an upper bunk as it creates noise and disturbs others. It would definitely be much more comfortable if beds were prepared in advance.

The service was truly wonderful — the staff were warm, attentive, and made the entire stay feel effortless and relaxing. The little shop inside the hotel is also a lovely bonus — beautifully curated with quality local items, perfect for souvenirs or small treats. The hotel is close to the old town of Montreal and the main traffic artery in the city. It is easy to get in and out. It is convenient to walk 1.5 kilometers to the old town. The room we booked is equipped with kitchenware, which is convenient for cooking and changing tastes. The service staff is very enthusiastic and the service is in place. The parking lot is in the basement of the next door building. There is a height restriction. SUVs with a height of 1.9 meters should pay attention.

The guy at the FD who checked us in was very nice. He was very helpful that when we noticed we don’t have a kettle in room, he went up to our floor and got us a new one. The only downside was the cleanliness of the room. Hair was found beside the window and the duvet cover was a bit stained. But overall we enjoyed the stay. :)

The hotel's location is good, within walking distance to Old Quebec and the Plains of Abraham. The facilities are indeed old. I had read a review mentioning the AC being too loud at night but didn't pay much attention to it then. After checking in, I realized it wasn't just the AC; there was a constant low-frequency humming noise that seriously affected my sleep. This was especially problematic since it was my first night in Canada after landing, and the noise disruption was severe.

First, the bad news - on many sites, it lists this hotel as ”parking available”. Parking is available, just not at the hotel. You must park in the underground parking across the street. The good news is that it is fairly inexpensive. We checked in around 4pm, and checked out at 7am two days later, and it was only $36 for parking. The breakfast is pretty standard - bagels, toast, cereal. And the rooms do not have a microwave or coffee maker. However, as the breakfast area is always open, you can get coffee, juice or hot water, and use the microwave any time. The room was good sized, with a small fridge. And I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the hotel. It also has a great location - walking distance to everything. We had two very good nights at the hotel, and I would not hesitate to book it again.
